Chapter 568 - Chapter 568

"Dr. Banner, any way to interfere?" Steve asked urgently as he rolled to the side, barely avoiding a shower of flying rubble.

"…Conventional weapons can't break through that concentrated defense," Banner's voice came back, heavy with frustration and gravity. "You need a sufficiently powerful external impact to forcibly intrude into the energy core node of its flow—and hit it in an instant!"

A powerful impact, driven straight into the core node in a single moment.

Everyone understood—

They had to create one absolutely perfect, undisturbed opportunity for Saitama to strike the monster's spinal core from its weak point.

That was almost their only hope.

Dr. Banner's discovery was like a burning coal thrown into the frozen battlefield:

Attack the spinal energy core!

Steve and Natasha's eyes sharpened at the same time.

"Clint! Coordinate with Saitama and cover us!" Steve's voice was firm, without the slightest hesitation. Ignoring the burning pain in his arms, he charged again toward that walking catastrophe of destruction like a spring-loaded warrior.

"Got it, got it!" Clint drew in a deep breath, his gaze hardening.

His hand flashed to the quiver, pulling out two very strange arrows—each tipped with a spiral barb and a tiny propulsion device.

Not for destruction—

For a trap.

Natasha slipped into the ruins' shadows like a black cat.

She didn't go for an immediate strike. Instead, she used the terrain and the blind spots created by the monster's massive body, darting like a dark phantom through smoke, broken walls, and overturned car husks.

Her target was the monster's broad back, like the side of a lava mountain.

She had to pinpoint the exact location of that energy core node—and somehow create a brief disruption.

Meanwhile, Saitama had just climbed out from the wreckage of the phone booth and shook his head a little.

When Steve's orders came through the shared channel to his ears, he looked up at the giant beast charging at him again.

The moment he heard the target was "the back of the neck," a faint look of "oh, so that's it" crossed his otherwise blank face.

That spot… he'd vaguely felt before that there was some "softness under the hard shell" there.

"The back of the neck, huh?" Saitama repeated under his breath.

Boom!

The monster's colossal claw came crashing down with annihilating force!

Saitama stopped hesitating. His body exploded into motion.

This time, he wasn't just letting himself be pinned down by defense and shockwaves.

As the monster's massive claw cast a terrifying shadow over him, Saitama's figure suddenly burst out with speed that surpassed everything he'd shown so far.

All that was left where he'd been standing was a slowly fading afterimage.

The real Saitama had become a golden streak almost impossible for the naked eye to follow.

This wasn't simple evasion—

It was ultra–high-speed movement combined with unbelievable, continuous changes of direction.

Shff! Shff! Shff!

His movement path wasn't a straight line.

It was a series of impossible sharp angles traced around the monster's huge but slightly sluggish body.

Every time he touched the ground, it was like a dragonfly skimming the surface of a pond—leaving only a shallow footprint and a spreading web of cracks in the concrete.

But because of the instant acceleration and direction shifts, his body tore twisted streams of turbulent air into existence all around the monster.

The monster's two eyes, burning with deep-crimson light, spun wildly as it tried to lock onto that tiny, rapidly moving target.

But Saitama was simply too fast.

His movement pattern was too tricky.

One moment he was in the shadow of its left foreclaw.

The next, he had already appeared on the edge of its right shoulder plate.

In another instant, he flashed again—

And was already in the blind spot behind its snarling head.
