"Meow~"
Kate took out a bag of dried fish and fed it to the black cat in front of her. On this vast sea, there were many peculiar creatures. Not to mention the enormous monsters on some islands, in many countries, special animals were even a unique scenic spot.
Alabasta's Quick-Run Duck unit, though just a group of ducks, served as cavalry scouts, and the Kung Fu Dugongs living near rivers and the sea were incredibly intelligent.
Not only could they understand human speech, but they could even learn Haki like humans.
The baboons on Kuraigana Island could also imitate human martial arts, with the strongest Baboon King even learning Hawkeye's sword techniques. And the special products of Firefly Island, besides fireflies of various colors, were cats.
A group of highly intelligent cats lived on this island, capable of understanding human language. As a Cat Mink, Kate could communicate with them even better. Over the past nearly two years, Kate had been training these cats.
Due to personal preference, Kate disliked dogs, which led to the birth of a brand new profession in Piltover—the Police Cat.
Cats' sense of smell was equally keen, and their bodies were more agile. Although they were not as strong as dogs, they could be more effective in many areas than dogs, such as in intelligence gathering.
Even on pirate ships, keeping cats was a common practice.
Pirates needed cats to deal with rats hiding in the ship's hold, protecting their provisions and water sources, so these cats could discreetly gather many special pieces of information.
This black cat was one of the more excellent ones among the cat group, leaning towards the rank of Police Chief, or it could be called Black Cat Police Chief.
"Meow meow~"
"Having a banquet? What a strange group of pirates. Alright, go do your own thing."
The black cat rubbed against Kate's leg, then melted into the night and disappeared. These cats were still in training, currently an unofficial group. Although they would listen to Kate and do things, where they would go after "work" was uncertain.
According to this development, cats might become a standard for Piltover police officers, and upon official employment, they would have their own cat partners.
When Kate returned to the Royal City, a clumsy figure was swaying forward in the Royal City square, with Blitz guiding it like a teacher.
"That's not right. You need to focus on maintaining balance, and the Hook Shot must be released quickly to stably capture the target."
Blitz was a proper name, but Blitz's body was not. As a Zaun rescue robot, Blitz's body had been tested in Zaun's harsh environment and was originally a mass-producible model.
Currently, there were many "Blitzes" in Piltover busy on construction sites, handling many heavy tasks. It was precisely with the aid of these machines that Firefly Island was able to develop so rapidly in the past two years.
However, Blitz's consciousness was unique; the consciousness born from the Hex Core had not been replicated. Other robots were merely subordinates led by Blitz, some even having special drivers.
"Meow!"
"Meow meow!"
The robots in front of them let out several meows. They were not driven by humans, but by cats.
Besides ordinary Police Cats, more intelligent cats formed the Cat Special Agent Team.
Cats were not as strong as dogs, but dogs were not as strong as machines. Once these special cats learned to operate machines, they became core members of the cat team.
The overall appearance of the cat-type robots was similar to Blitz, but they adopted a unique dual-cat driving mode. One cat operated the main body, and the other was responsible for controlling the mechanical grappling hook, thus requiring a certain level of coordination to better capture their targets.
"Kate, you're back?"
"Yes, I'm done. I went to check on those pirates. The ship is full of strange people. Is Oran asleep?"
"Not yet. Master is still researching that big fellow over there."
"Okay, I understand. I'll leave this to you."
No one understood how steam robots operated better than Blitz. Having Blitz teach this matter naturally yielded the best results.
After walking down the circular staircase leading underground, Kate accurately found the entrance to District Thirteen within the book maze and saw the busy Oran inside.
"Oran, I sent Xiao Hei to check on the movements of those pirates. They are currently having a banquet on their ship."
"A banquet? That sounds like something they would do."
"I asked the nearby citizens, and these pirates paid for their purchases honestly. They are a relatively well-behaved group."
"Let them be. These guys' target isn't here, and they will leave soon.
You should also prepare. Once I finish what I'm working on, I'll be making a trip to Punk Hazard in a while."
"I understand."
Things were pretty much as Oran predicted. Roger's goal was to challenge the Grand Line and complete his final voyage, but he still hadn't discovered how to reach the final island.
The Roger Pirates stayed on Firefly Island for six days because that was the time required for the Log Pose to fully record.
"Captain Roger, aren't we setting off yet? The Log Pose is full, supplies have been replenished, and today's wind direction is perfect for departure. It's a good time."
"Wait one more day. That guy Garp hasn't arrived yet. I thought about it, if we leave early, the Marines might find it strange.
It's better not to cause trouble for the people here. Speaking of which, I haven't seen Garp in a while. Running away right in front of him seems pretty good, too."
Sometimes, Roger and Luffy were quite similar. They both had their unique ways of thinking, making it impossible for outsiders to guess, even though there were rumors that Vice Admiral Garp had cornered Roger multiple times.
But in fact, no one on this ship was afraid of Garp; they never thought they would be caught by Garp.
"Wait, Captain Roger, I think I see Garp's ship. Uh… his ship is jumping towards us."
"Jumping? How can a ship jump?"
Saying that, Roger went to the other side of the deck and looked at the distant sea. As a result, a dog-headed warship indeed "jumped" towards them.
At this moment, on Garp's warship, the Marines on board were all desperately grabbing onto nearby objects to secure themselves.
"Vice Admiral Garp! That's enough! If this continues, the ship will fall apart!"
"Yes, Vice Admiral Garp, we've already seen the Roger Pirates' ship! We can sail normally now!"
"Puhahaha! Isn't this to make good time? Looking at it, if we're any later, they might actually get away. Hold on tight, one last time! Fist Impact!"
Garp threw a punch backward, using the recoil generated by the punch to send the warship flying into the air, achieving accelerated navigation in an unconventional way.
Ordinary people could not do such a thing. Although Garp could transfer the recoil force to the ship's hull, moving the ship along, it also caused considerable damage to the ship. The collapsed deck beneath his feet was evidence.
"Roger! Stop right there! This time, I'm definitely going to catch you and lock you up in Impel Down!"
"Don't dream, Garp! Lads! Set sail!"
The Golden Jackson set sail, heading in an unknown direction. Garp's dog-headed warship followed closely behind, giving chase, but it didn't close the distance much.
Garp's ship was still within the range of standard warships, while Roger's ship was a rare vessel built by Tom, the world's best shipwright, using the treasure tree adam as material. Under the same wind power, the warship truly couldn't catch up to them.
Under these circumstances, Garp once again activated his manual acceleration device, which also caused Oran to make a new den den mushi call.
"Hello, this is Oran."
"Oh, Oran, how are things on your end?"
It was still Zephyr's den den mushi that was dialed, which was also Oran's main channel for contacting the Marine.
Unless it was some official business matter, he would only contact Marineford's fixed den den mushi.
"Not bad. I've already seen Garp, and Roger has started to flee."
"Isn't that good? It seems your troubles there are resolved."
"The trouble Roger brought is resolved, but new trouble has appeared. Garp used an unconventional method of travel, which affected my dock."
"This… the impact of battle is also an irresistible force…"
"I can understand that. It's just that the overturned cargo ship was carrying supplies for you Marines, so please tell Sengoku that delivery will be delayed by two days, until I send people to retrieve the goods."
That's all for today. I spent the whole day on home appliances.
