Through the window I saw a star falling, a shooting star. What should I wish? "Let all the bad things be out of my world"
Sitting on the chair doing my homework on the desk...I don't like doing it, no one likes it. I sighed, times like this where nothing is interesting...I want to finish something that I started but now snap out of it just then my mom walks in and asked me what food I wanted for lunch box tommorow for school. "Sandwiches are fine". My mom left. The hand I was using for writing, I looked at my palm and I thought "I don't know what to do". No one really disapproved me directly but it was in the air, I'm not allowed... I don't want to do those competitive exams I don't want to get the job I never wanted, it's always the same, same thought, same feeling everyday... eventually I finished my homework before 12am.
Well while laying on my bed and scrolling through the phone my brain said "don't go school tommorow" I tried to ignore it a few times but I really didn't want to go but staying at home and listening to the naggings, I didn't want to stay at home either so for half an hour I was trying to convince myself that Sunday is near but it was only bout to Wednesday, this cycle of wanting to skip repeats every week but that time I thought of taking a walk. I usually don't go out in late nights but that time I really wanted to do so I grabbed my phone and decided to take some fresh air outside.. inside is just contaminated with uneasiness.
I quietly opened the main door and head outside, I lived in the mountains and it was an underdeveloped place so it's all just woods and trees so it's a little dangerous at night. While walking I wished for a handsome guy to appear, maybe was too dulled out by my day today so I started wishing random things...well none wish came true.
I walked and walked and walked, I stopped when I found a nice place to sit, like mountains give u the best views right. Another wish!
"Magical powers?? Oh how I wish for those..." A minute passed in silence and the realisation of being outside like this hit so I decided to go back. "Fireflies are nowhere to be seen nowadays." Every step I took the thought of not wanting to go to school grew, sometimes u really can't brush off this feeling right.
"It's not like I hate school, I just don't like it it's mentally tiring I mean I can bear it but continuous amount is exhausting" I said that aloud walking, and talking to myself alone at night like this is not a good impression,but then I tripped and fell into a pit, I swear I always look downwards while walking but dark night got the better of me. The pit was almost of my height, I got out thanks to the uneven wall but the moment I was out it was already morning. "Shoot! It's strange how can this be possible." I thought but while I was processing I realised I should go home, I ran towards my house but as soon I came out of the mountain everything looked weird. It wasn't anything like before, it had became a strange place. My breath started becoming heavy because it was a lot to process, I ran here and there all the different directions but still it was all foreign to me nothing like the area I live. I started panicking a bit but I decided to go back to the mountain again, the stranger thing was that the mountain is still the same as before it was the only place that remain unchanged. I'm bad with directions so it took me some time to find that pit but I eventually did, I stood there thinking what should I do then I jumped back in closed my eyes tightly, when I opened my eyes I had a hope maybe my dream ended and I'm back to my world but when I went out of the mountain again it still was foreign,old huts, dirt roads...I wanted to cry but I didn't though I was panicking inside, I was shaking taking deep breaths. I sat down there closer to the mountain "I really don't know what to do." While I was sulking someone tapped on my shoulder, I looked up and it was a little boy. His clothes were dirty, all covered in dirt. "Why are you sitting here? Are you lost?" I nodded in tense. "Describe me your home I'll tell you where is it. I know all the area here" He said proudly. I doubt he'd know but I still told him, I was desperate to go back "Do you know Blue Isle Apartment? Or Plain City road???" He looked at me with a confused reaction. "No, never heard of them? Why the names are so strange. There's no such places like that here" I know there isn't, this place is just wrong. I thought that, upon seeing my sad expression he suggested on working with him instead "It's okay! You can stay with me in my house and even work with me"
I had no other options in my mind so I agreed. He told me he is in the middle of his work so I can join as he'll introduce me to the boss. "What? You're so young..what kind of job you do little boy?" I asked. "But it's normal to work at this age, and u don't look much older little boy" What the..I stood up, when I stood up I realised we're the same height. Now that I'm seeing it, my clothes are different..dirty and torn and I'm so small.."S-something's not right" I started to panic again "You seem out of the place, well it's not the time to worry about any other things. We need to go back to the work place or boss's minions will beat me for slacking off" he told me to follow him and ran towards the direction. "Have I been isekaid or something shit..?" I thought to myself, all my life of imagining of being Isekai to another world has been my dream but I always knew it won't be as exciting as wanted. My thoughts were mingling around my head but just then we reached the place. And the place was...horrible. My eyes widen when I saw a bunch of little kids working in the mines "Hey. Let's go meet the second boss so that you can also work too" "No! I don't want to. And u shouldn't either! Stop it" I swear I don't want to be the righteous and justice type of person but this amount of wrong doing is wrong. He turned complely towards me and grabbed both my hands "Shh! It's a usual thing. Why you're so strange" then a tall man with a huge black beard appeared "What all this ruckus?" He glanced at me "Who is this newbie?" "Second boss I've got another worker" "Ah..good. Get him the hammer and tools" I strangely looked at him but he didn't really care and left. "Let's go get your tools" "Can I atleast get cleaned up a bit, there's mud in my feet and face" he looked at me for some seconds "Ah..okay.." he too was covered with dust and dirt. "Well you're gonna get dirty again" he took me near a small pond, it was just near the mines. I looked at the reflection "Ah I knew it!" The little boy turned at me "what you knew?" "Nothing." I've turned into a little boy, a boy. I'm not really liking the fact that I've turned into like this and got into a strange place, have I really been Isekaid? "▌│█║▌│█║...." "What????" A strange voice I heard..in my mind?..."Can you be quick? We might get trouble if you keep delaying" I started washing my hands and face "What the hell was that".. I thought to myself "Enough cleaning. Let's go get your tools" "Talk about hygiene"I mumbled.
We entered an old hut, there were many...mining tools "Get yourself the ones that works for you" I crouched down and started examining.."What's your name? I'm Herath" he was a regular young boy around the age of twelve, nothing interesting in particular. I didn't answer him and grabbed a hammer and a shovel. "Hey tell me your name!" "Ah just call me whatever" We both exited through the door and started heading to the mining "Teryan. You're Teryan from now on reminds me of my bird Tery" I couldn't careless, we finally got into the mining area..again such a horrible place, no protective equipments and toral hard labours, all the kids there seemed to have it rough but since I was new Herath and me started the work with less narrow area. I pushed the shovel into the ground and tried to scrape it, it wasn't going in properly "Your grip is too loose, try gripping like this" he demonstrated me, it was kinda hard learning but I got a held of it after half an hour. "I can't do this anymore.. I'm tired" the dusts were also killing me, I'm thankful we're not inside the tunnel. "What? You can't stop yet, if you stop you're gonna get beaten" a middle-aged man came towards us "don't stop working little bastards". At this point I got the picture of my situation, I'm a helpless kid who is stuck into doing this horrendous child labouring. I continued the shovel work. After another two hours my body was giving up, I couldn't do it anymore. I dropped the shovel and sat on the ground, the middle-aged man started shouting at me "You can not stop yet. Stand up" He grabbed my shirt and pulled me up. "S-sorry sir, but my friend is new h-his stamina is still not built up." "I don't care! The work needs to be done means it needs to be" "doing work with the new hands ofter leads to damaged rewards" Herath was able to get me some rest but he continued for straight for several hours. Even though I took a break of fifteen minutes I was still exhausted. Soon enough we got our lunch break, Herath stopped and dropped his shovel down then he came near to me and asked me to join the lunch break with him. He ran towards the bag he put near earlier, took out a plate and signed me to follow him. There was a line of kids waiting their turns for food, he stood in the line so I also lined behind him. Soon enough we got our turns, the man who was serving the food looked at my hands and said to me "You have no plates so get out of the line"..."Please serve on this" Herath brought a big taro leaf, the man looked at him annoyed but still poured it. It was hot to touch but I sat down with Herath, the dish was beans and rice porridge, Herath started eating with his hand so..I mimicked him and started eating that way. I started to think about my situation, my eyes started getting watery. I miss my home..I don't like this at all.
Time passes and it was dusk now, me and Herath walked a long way until we stopped by a small house."Teryan wait here I.. I'll be back" he rushed inside the house, I stood there outside and just waited. After a few minutes a woman walked outside, she was a middleaged woman her hair was grey. Too young to be this grey in my opinion "Are you my son's friend? I heard you're lost... you're quite young to be left alone, you can stay with us for some time" I don't think she was that welcoming to me, well I get it cause their situation seems to be rough. Herath also came outside "come inside Teryan I'll show you the toys I made myself" He grabbed my hand and took me inside, this kid seems to be liking me for some reasons. We both sat down. "Look! His name is Tai-Tai, I made it myself" it was a well crafted..robot like toy with sticks and cardboard."It's cool.." I'm usually interested in those things but it's not the time, he kept talking about things, I didn't listen a single thing. I'm worried about my situation.."are you not interested in my toys?"..No, I'm not. Didn't say it out loud though "I'm lost dude, I'm basically living in some stanger's house." "Right...well I can buy you sweet buns tommorow?? I have some money saved!" "I'm not planning to stay with you, tommorow I'll leave this place and find my world." He looked skeptical but quickly changed his expression "Then I'll help you!" I sighed and didn't say anything.
His mom gave us some milk and rice as dinner, it didn't taste that bad but Herath seems to have it rough he doesn't like it but ate it anyway. His mom told us to do the dishes so he took me to the back of the house where a little cemented platform was made, there were buckets, he put down the dishes.."Are we supposed to wash it here?" "Yes!" We both sat down and started scrubbing. "You know Herath, this place is weird. I want to go back to my world" "You keep mentioning "world" can you be more specific?" "Ah you won't really believe me but I'm from a different world.. I think or maybe a different timeline, it didn't take much time for acceptance cause I read fictions" "I BELIEVE YOU I BELIEVE YOU. And I know the reason why it happened" I was shocked, I stopped doing my dishes and asked him in desperation "You do?! What is it please tell me how it happened" "I don't want my mom to hear this so I'll tell you in a lower voice, actually the neighbouring village is famous..or often cursed for their mysterious rituals. I heard they often set promises to unknown entities to bring different entities from outer world" after hearing that I didn't know whether to believe it or not but I'm a child lost like this i want my home back. "I have to go there! I want their help, maybe I'll get a clue from this??" He had a worried expression "I don't think that's a good idea...I always wanted to know more about that village and their people but folks say it's dangerous but maybe I can help you to go there" I know I shouldn't get this kid get involved but I'll just use his help to get there...I need it.
