Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Its Name

Chapter 12 Its Name

It was evening at the student dorms.

After Hisagi Shuuhei returned, he lay on his bed reading and resting, while Tachikawa's bed next to him was empty.

He didn't know where Tachikawa had gone. Tachikawa was now the Student Council President of the Spiritual Arts Academy, so it wasn't surprising for him to be doing anything.

Shūhei didn't think too much, but as he was reading, he suddenly felt an incredibly familiar and powerful spiritual pressure surge from afar, making him bolt upright from his bed.

This spiritual pressure... it's Tachikawa's!

As a fifth-year student at the Spiritual Arts Academy, he was already adept at sensing and perceiving spiritual pressure. He would never mistake Tachikawa's spiritual pressure.

But its intensity far exceeded his understanding.

The sudden burst of spiritual pressure was sensed by most students at the Spiritual Arts Academy, causing quite a commotion on campus. Some recognized whose spiritual pressure it was, while others wondered which teacher or Shinigami was releasing spiritual pressure within the Spiritual Arts Academy.

Hisagi Shuuhei furrowed his brow in thought for a moment on his bed, then put down his book and quickly left the dorm, heading towards the direction from which the spiritual pressure originated.

Outside the Swordsmanship Classroom.

The first person to arrive was Sawataku Minamida. After realizing that the spiritual pressure was coming from Tachikawa, he immediately rushed to the scene without delay.

It was already evening, almost time for bed, so it seemed the only person who could still be in the Swordsmanship Classroom was Tachikawa, the Student Council President.

However, by the time he arrived outside the Swordsmanship Classroom, the spiritual pressure inside had already subsided.

Upon careful sensing, he could detect someone inside.

Seeing that others were also gathering, Sawataku Minamida thought for a moment, then took the initiative to push the door open and walk in.

Inside the spacious and quiet Swordsmanship Classroom, Tachikawa sat alone cross-legged in the center, with an ordinary black Asauchi laid across his lap.

Sawataku Minamida was slightly startled by the sight, and a flicker in his eyes suggested he realized something.

"Mr. Minamida?"

Tachikawa, upon discovering the newcomer, exclaimed in surprise, a smile appearing on his face.

"Why have you come?"

Sawataku Minamida closed the classroom door behind him and asked, "I was going to ask you, what are you doing making such a big commotion?"

"Commotion?"

Tachikawa pondered for a moment. He hadn't noticed earlier, but now, recalling carefully, he seemed to have inadvertently unleashed spiritual pressure.

Did it alarm many people…

Sawataku Minamida noticed that Tachikawa's aura seemed to become even more restrained after his question, though he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination.

His expression grew serious as he looked at the Asauchi-style sword in front of Tachikawa.

"I ask you, have you obtained your Zanpakuto?"

Tachikawa looked down at the Asauchi in front of him and chuckled, "Something like that."

"..."

Sawataku Minamida took a deep breath. In an instant, numerous thoughts flashed through his mind, but in the end, only one word remained on his lips.

"Good!"

As Tachikawa's teacher, Sawataku Minamida was genuinely delighted by such news, but he still managed to compose himself.

Among students who graduated from the Spiritual Arts Academy, even those dubbed "geniuses" rarely awakened their Zanpakuto during their time there. Tachikawa had undoubtedly given him a huge surprise this time.

However, compared to Sawataku Minamida's joy, Tachikawa's inner feelings were quite calm.

His awakening of the Zanpakuto was a gradual and natural process.

And the Asauchi in front of him was not the true form of his Zanpakuto; it was merely something he had taken from the sword storage room as a disguise. His true sword had been hidden away. As for why he did this, it was because his sword looked somewhat special, and displaying it casually would be too eye-catching.

Zanpakuto Unlock Progress: 12% (Partial Shikai)

However, with his recent true name invocation, the Zanpakuto's unlock progress had increased slightly on its own.

"Let's go. Students who awaken their Zanpakuto at the Spiritual Arts Academy need to be registered," Sawataku Minamida said then. "Since this Asauchi has become your sword, you can carry it with you from now on."

The two walked out of the Swordsmanship Classroom together, only to find many people already standing outside, both students and teachers.

Hisagi Shuuhei and Kanisawa were also there, and Tachikawa smiled and waved at them.

"Mr. Minamida, what happened?" a Spiritual Arts Academy teacher who had rushed there asked.

Sawataku Minamida pulled them aside and whispered something, and after listening to Sawataku Minamida's narration, these teachers all looked at Tachikawa with strange expressions.

"What happened?" Shūhei and Kanisawa also came to Tachikawa's side and asked.

Tachikawa gestured to the sword he was holding and said, "Just this little thing."

The two were stunned for a moment upon hearing this, then simultaneously realized what he meant.

"Tachikawa, you…"

Tachikawa scratched his head and said, "Ah, Mr. Minamida says he wants to take me to register now. It's quite troublesome."

"Let's go, Tachikawa!"

Sawataku Minamida called out, and Tachikawa followed him. The other students also dispersed under the guidance of local teachers.

However, the spiritual pressure fluctuation earlier still made the students discuss animatedly. It wasn't hard to guess that Tachikawa had come out of the Swordsmanship Classroom holding a sword. Soon, the news that Student Council President Tachikawa Shin had awakened his Zanpakuto spread throughout the entire Spiritual Arts Academy.

Tachikawa followed Sawataku Minamida to the teachers' office. Sawataku Minamida told him to wait there for a moment and left alone. About ten minutes later, two more teachers from the Spiritual Arts Academy walked over with him.

"Tachikawa student."

Tachikawa recognized them; they were senior teachers at the Spiritual Arts Academy.

"Is this your Zanpakuto now?" one of them asked, pointing at the sword Tachikawa was holding.

Tachikawa nodded gently.

The two teachers exchanged glances upon hearing this. One of them said, "It's extremely rare for a student of the Spiritual Arts Academy to possess their own Zanpakuto… As expected of the Student Council President, no wonder the Principal values you so much. Congratulations, Tachikawa student."

Sawataku Minamida also couldn't suppress a smile on his face.

One of the teachers took out a notebook, while the other began to ask questions.

"Can you please describe your Zanpakuto's name and abilities in detail now?"

They needed to record every Shinigami's Zanpakuto. Besides having Tachikawa describe it, they would likely also have him demonstrate its abilities later.

Tachikawa looked at the sword in his arms. Its appearance was no different from an ordinary Asauchi, mainly because Tachikawa hadn't disguised it at all. However, fortunately, Zanpakuto come in all sorts of strange shapes, so any appearance wouldn't be unusual.

As for its abilities, how should he put it…

Tachikawa hadn't really made up a story for this. After a moment of contemplation, he slowly began to speak.

"It's called…"

"This Shore, That Shore!"
