Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Leacher Act 64

The third limo was opened by a well clad butler from the respective limo, all eyes locked in..

A tall, semi-slim male teen surfaced from the opulent vehicle. He had silver colored hair and black themed pupils, his uniform was neatly placed; his tie was tightly nutted, he looked very formal.

"Whose that?" Dark asked feeling rather uneasy at his presence.

"Doomsday, Ds for short. He's the second son and child of the the esteemed principal of this revolutionary institution. He's known to have a dual personality; to some extent he's very coordinated and refined but also very authoritative and destructive." Shade voiced enjoying the whole setting.

The three introduced elites were now on their way into the standard academy through the instantly made walkway made by the dividing crowd, resting on both their sides, chanting their names and cheering them on.

Dark and Shade just observed them quietly but for totally different reasons. From Shade's expression it was easily decided that he preferred storing the visual memory of them than wasting the opportunity chanting tirelessly knowing that action alone could never gain their attention, it was a really good and plausible reason...

Dark on the other hand could only vision himself throwing both guys to the dirt and whisking the girl away into the sunset.

Doomsday unfortunately spotted the dreaming Dark and immediately grew annoyed, he picked up his pace until he caught up with Star then locked in their hands from behind. She got a little startled but didn't bother unlocking it.

Madness!!..

All year one boys present let out confusing cries of despair, their idol was no longer single and there wasn't a single thing they could do about it.

"I think it's time for class" Dark shrugged, leaving Shade to the rest of the crowd.

"Oh no, we don't have class today of course. The bell you heard was directed to the upper years, all we have today is settling in and the day has just begun" Shade gladly enlightened beaming with excitement.

"Soon we'll have the welcome ceremony, followed by the sharing of classes and finally...the midnight party funded and organized by the second years for us. Today is going to be really fun" He smiled with so much energy.

"Shade" Dark called in a very deep and mature tone, immediately gaining Shade's complete attention.

"Do you know all their power levels?" Dark continued.

"All I have are their previous power level records, last updated a month ago. Don't ask me how" Shade replied smartly.

"How far behind am I?" Dark quized once more.

"Miserably" Shade replied quickly again.

"Can I see?" Dark beconed still backing his roommate.

"I'm so happy he's taking his quest to become a premium more seriously now. Thank goodness!" Shade thought before finally affirming Dark.

"I can't forget why I came here, the promise I made to myself. I need to bury the others in the ground... including elites" Dark lamented gaining back his eerie dominor.

TWO HOURS LATER....

It was finally time for the welcome ceremony and new students trooped into the large theater which they had decided to use for the festival. It was becoming really obvious that most students had already formed clicks.

It was already time for the principal's speech when Dark and Shade rushed into the faintly packed theater.

"We made it" Shade managed to say in-between gasps.

"I told you we'll be late if we keep at it, you're lucky no one saw us" Dark teased paying close attention to the principal as he approached the mic.

"Yh yh, we can always continue our research later...I heard" Shade replied as they both found their seats behind everyone else.

Dark stared at the forthcoming principal with great interest, thanks to Shade and the hours they spent in the ICT Department he could now identify different people of power and affluence in regards to the school, he had stored the basic details of anyone worthy enough to get an office.

After they caught their breath, the finally inclined themselves to two seats at the extreme back end of the theater.

The total number of the new year one students was a hundred and twenty but thier population still didn't take up to fifteen percent of the grand theater.

But Dark and Shade made sure they say at the very back end, even though there was a huge obvious gap between them and the rest of the students staring them in the face.

"Good day students, welcome to the world renowned academy you sure have heard when you were growing up, until this day when you get to experience it for yourselves." The principal started, his voice echoing through the nearly empty theater.

"I hope you all are ready to learn, you had this past week to get yourselves familiarized with the environment and its ethics. Teaching starts tomorrow, among thousands of applicants, you were all chosen for your impeccable attribute one way or the other to represent this legendary academy, to be the next generation of it's excellence and the first people in your generation." The principal went on and on hailing the students as they smiled warmly.

"I also strongly advise against any form of insolence or negative behavior as the penalties are life draining. Good luck." he finally made his last remark before making his way back to his seat, the students didn't fail to send him off with a promising round of applause, or at least most of them didn't.

From the same high table as the principal, a student walked towards the mike. He was tall, his uniform was spotless, well aligned and neatly put.

"The Sapphire." Dark ensued paying close attention to this puissant student who took the mike ready for his own speech.

"Good day everyone, I personally would like to welcome you all to this humble prestige. As the principal said you all are unique in your own way and irreplaceable and were picked due to such attributes. But any showcase of unacceptable behavior will be punished to the full extent of my power as the number one student and also that of the principal." His voice thickened as he glared down on the new students as though they were trash.

"I look forward to working with your respective heads of classes which would be assigned later on. Though I may not be available at all times, the student council secretary would take in your subject matter and if you don't feel satisfied you can then check in with the Sapphire 2." He clearly stated, flowing like one who had long practiced this.

"Immediately after this gathering, move over to the end of the Chalice field, written on The Clear Wall is your estimated classes and just to remind you of our very special rule...

As a student of this institution, you are to pay strict adherence to The Leacher Act 64. This is one of our golden rules here at Light Slumber Prestige. Punishment for abstaining or acting contrary is total banishment from the school as well as the entire reaper verse." His cold blue eyes in line with Dark's even though so very far away, Dark was totally listening now.

"What's that all about?" Dark asked feeling pressured.

"It's the Leacher Act 64." Shade expressed like it was not something to be taught but Dark's clueless gaze made him succumb.

"It's a law that states the agreement between the school authority and the general Leacher Eradication Unit. It entitles any student of this school the right to kill or manipulate any leacher we come across with immediate effect. It's a golden law that has been around for centuries." Shade enlightened his ignorant companion.

"Leachers?..." Dark chorused then Shade sighed.

"A Leacher is also known as a false reaper, they are spirits who were turned into reapers through the sharing of their creator's core energy. This action is very much illegal through out the whole realm." Shade explain waving his wrists like a teacher.

"How could that bastard put me in a death zone, I'll be dead within seconds if my true identity gets figured out." Dark burned with depression.

"Hey, you alright?" Shade teased after noticing Dark spaced out. Dark was engulfed in waves of insecurity but managed to his it well.

"Yeah, hey I thought reapers can't die?" Dark asked trying to balance the atmosphere.

"Of course we can, in here our body functions like every normal human you know, but outside the reaper verse, only decapitation and damages to our core energy can estinguish our life force. Other damages may slow us down but we'll survive. Funny you should ask." Shade explained, giving the lecturer's vibe again.

"And why do we hate Leachers so much. Do they become something monstrous?" Dark quizzed quite calmly.

"They are just natural beasts, they are mostly stronger than any average reaper since they inherit part of their master's life force, they are usually born of the purpose of maniacs and always end up being one themselves." Shade answered an Dark could already feel his detest for them oozing out of him.

"Who am I kidding, I can't pretend to be someone else, I'm the ace assassin, nothing else will keep me alive in here." Dark's Demeanor instantly changed, so did his expression...the crazy lonely feeling was back but different, it didn't fell like his own.

"Last I checked I was the only one permitted to talk- you two" The Sapphire beaconed looking straight at Dark and his companion, everyone turned to them including those at the high table.

Dark peeled at the blabbing student with a glare that didn't need to last long to feel like a threat, it was truly that of a world class assassin.
