Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Refining or Being Refined?

The showerhead washed away the lingering traces, and Yǔ dried himself, changing into a new set of pajamas.

As soon as he opened the bathroom door, he heard hurried footsteps from the staircase beside him. Looking up, Seele, dressed in her school uniform, was quickly walking up the stairs, with Bronya following closely behind her.

Yǔ immediately breathed a sigh of relief. If Seele and Bronya had returned earlier and heard something they shouldn't have, it wouldn't have been good.

Upon seeing her brother standing in the hallway, Seele's originally worried face suddenly showed a hint of surprise. She hastily asked, "Brother, how is Sister Kaguya?"

"She's doing well. Her fever has gone down, but she still needs to rest in bed. Didn't I already send you a message on your phone, Seele? Are you still not trusting me?"

Draping the towel he used to dry his hair over his shoulder, Yǔ said casually.

"Hmm..."

Seele's somewhat conflicted and evasive gaze made Yǔ suddenly feel a little hurt. Bronya even laughed and added, "Isn't the distrust because you're here?"

"...I'll cry for you all to see!"

"It's, it's not that serious."

Seele's voice had just fallen when she heard Bronya's somewhat surprised voice.

"Really?! Cry quickly, I've never seen you cry. I heard Seele say that you used to be often beaten until you cried by Cocolia, Mom, hmm..."

"Sister Bronya!!"

Seele was startled and quickly turned around to cover Bronya's mouth. Then she turned her head and saw her brother's somewhat darkened expression, and immediately chuckled awkwardly.

Estimating that Kaguya had likely gotten back into bed, Yǔ stepped forward, first knocking, then opening the door.

"Since you don't believe me, go in and see for yourselves. Look, Kaguya is still lying there."

In the room, Kaguya was lying neatly under the covers, smiling at the three people at the doorway.

"Sister Kaguya, how do you feel now?"

"Thank you for your concern. Thanks to my husband's efforts, I feel much better."

Her pleasant voice was filled with a hint of laziness, and the comfortable and contented feeling didn't seem feigned.

Seele immediately breathed a sigh of relief, bending down to touch Kaguya's forehead and saying, "That's great, Sister Kaguya, it's good that you're okay."

Feeling that her body temperature had returned to normal, Seele smiled.

Bronya didn't speak; she just stood behind Seele, observing carefully.

Her somewhat haggard appearance from the morning had now recovered her spirits, especially her moist, glowing cheeks, which showed a faint blush, clearly indicating that she had recovered her health and was both physically and mentally satisfied.

Nodding, she praised Yǔ, who was beside her, "It seems you did a good job."

"Hey, hey, hey, have some faith in me, alright? This is my fiancée, after all."

Sighing somewhat speechlessly, Yǔ couldn't help but roll his eyes at Bronya.

"I don't disbelieve you, only Kaguya."

"Huh? Don't believe me?"

Kaguya, who was laughing and chatting with Seele, turned her head in confusion.

"Otherwise?"

Crossing her arms, Bronya teased, "You spoil this guy too much. Seele and I both suspect you might lie to avoid worrying Yu."

Is, is that so?

Kaguya silently pulled the covers up a bit, covering her slightly flushed cheeks.

"I didn't, did I...?"

She quickly glanced at her husband, muttering softly, but she was soon so embarrassed by Seele and Bronya's direct gazes that she buried her head under the covers.

"By the way."

Seele suddenly bent down, looking at the sheets and quilt and asking in confusion, "Why have the sheets and quilt been changed?"

"..."

Kaguya's heart rate suddenly accelerated. She tightly clutched the quilt and simply kept her head down, not making a sound. There was nothing for it, Yǔ could only quickly explain, "After taking the fever reducer and sleeping under the covers, she naturally sweated a lot, so I changed to a new set of bedding, and I also helped her wash up just now."

"Helped?" Bronya's eyes became somewhat meaningful.

"Ahem, after all, one needs to take care of a sick person..."

"As expected of you."

Bronya suddenly felt a bit absurd; she actually thought this matter was quite normal.

"What about the quilt then? Seele will go wash it right away."

Looking around, the floor was clean. Seele asked in confusion.

"I've already washed it. It's fine."

"Brother washed it? Then Seele will go hang it to dry later."

"...I've already hung it to dry."

"Is it on the balcony? Then Seele will go retrieve it tonight."

Please stop asking!

The more he said, the more mistakes he made, so Yǔ quickly interrupted Seele's questioning: "Oh, right!"

"What's wrong?"

Only after he had attracted the attention of all three did Yǔ continue, "From now on, let Kaguya stay here. This will be Kaguya's room from now on."

Then, he looked at the original owner of the room, raised an eyebrow, and said with a smile, "Anyway, you don't need this place anymore, do you?"

"Tsk, I have no objection."

Blushing, Bronya turned her head away and cast her affirmative vote.

"Seele has no objection either. Sister Kaguya should have moved in long ago; it's very troublesome to keep going back and forth."

Their unhesitating acceptance filled Kaguya with emotion. She poked her little head out from under the covers again, looking at Seele and Bronya with teary eyes.

This look made Seele and Bronya a little embarrassed. Since they had confirmed that Kaguya was fine, they quickly made excuses to leave the room.

"It's getting late, Seele needs to go make dinner!"

"I'll go help too!"

Soon, only Yǔ and Kaguya remained in the room.

After a while, Yǔ suddenly breathed a sigh of relief and sat on the edge of the bed, looking helplessly at Kaguya's flushed little face: "Why hide it? We almost got caught just now."

This was his first time lying to Seele, and a strong sense of guilt immediately arose in his heart. He hadn't expected to give away two 'firsts' today.

"Th-this kind of thing is so embarrassing…"

Kaguya mumbled softly, her face flushed, then she reached out her small hand and tugged on Yǔ's sleeve, only her eyes peeking out as she timidly asked, "Is Husband angry?"

That adorable little gesture immediately defused Yǔ's temper, and he quickly responded softly.

"Of course not."

"Hehe, that's good."

Kaguya immediately smiled happily, sat up, and held out her hands, asking for a hug.

Yǔ naturally moved closer and embraced Kaguya, who had begun to act spoiled with him.

"Husband, this is your wife's Husband~"

Her cloying voice echoed in his ear, and Kaguya rubbed against him in his arms. Her dependent appearance made Yǔ's expression grow even gentler.

After a while of cuddling, Kaguya leaned against him, one hand touching her belly, and she pouted, saying with some regret, "It's a pity, Husband didn't stay inside. Your wife was really looking forward to a little baby."

Upon hearing this, Yǔ immediately felt numb. He looked at Kaguya, who had once again fallen into a fantasy, with a headache, and uttered a complaint that was not the first time today.

"I'll only be seventeen after this New Year, you idiot!!!!"
