Byung washed her body delicately; he could tell from a single touch that she hadn't rested and whatever wound she must have had must have been within that journey.
He didn't want her to think for now. Byung wanted her to feel safe because whatever she must have been through had changed her body language.

"I am sorry," Byung apologized and Maui was momentarily confused as to why he was apologizing because he had nothing to be sorry about.
She did this because she wanted to; Byung gave her that choice but she underestimated just how far Borg had spread his poison in the minds of others.
"You are sorry? You have nothing to be sorry about, I did this because I wanted to," Maui hated being pitied because it made her feel weak.
