About four to five minutes after Vanessa left, Alex finally showed up at the mansion as we sat in my study while he studied the encryption on the ring and the note that was in the box.
"Where did you say you found this again?" He asks me after staring at both items in silence for almost 20 minutes.
"In my father's room I was trying to find something that'll give me a clue on the issue we've always had between the olive green pack and ours. I found this instead, but I don't know anything about it," I said to him, relieved that he had finally opened up the ground for us to at least talk.
After responding to that question, I expected that he was going to say something else, but Alex fell again into silence, making me rather surprised at why he insisted on staying quiet instead of speaking to me.
