Chapter 10 - Chapter 8: Trial of the World Eater

"The world fears what it cannot control.

So it tries to kill it."

The stars trembled.

In the Celestial Plane, bells rang—signaling an event that hadn't occurred in 3,000 years.

Event Triggered: Trial of the World Eater

Objective: Eliminate the being who devours fate itself.

Reward: Cosmic Stability.

Sentenced Target: Aether (Bearer of Beelzebubb Pact)

Scene Shift – Celestial Execution Squad

Five figures emerged from a fracture in space.

Each bore a different aura:

One was fire incarnate.

Another, a being made of swords.

The third, wrapped in golden time-chains.

The fourth, a monk-like assassin with no shadow.

And the fifth… a child with dead eyes and lips stitched shut.

They descended together—Heaven's Guillotine.

Meanwhile – Aether's Realm

Aether stood on a shattered battlefield, surrounded by freed villagers rebuilding ruins. The children smiled at him, playing tag near his feet.

He didn't smile back.

His mind was elsewhere.

"They're coming."

Oroboros hissed in agreement.

"They are not mortals. These ones smell like Heaven's dogs."

The sky cracked.

The Celestial Squad landed like meteors.

Their leader raised his hand.

A scroll floated forward, burning in midair.

"Aether. Devourer. Abomination.

You are sentenced to death by order of the Celestial Court."

Aether didn't blink.

He simply asked, "Are you here for justice—or fear?"

"Both."

Combat Engaged: Celestial Squad vs Aether + Oroboros

First Strike – The sword-wielder dashed, splitting time with each swing.

Aether parried one, devoured the second, and used the third to stab his throat.

Second Assault – Time-mage froze the moment. But Oroboros shattered it by biting into time itself.

Third Phase – Fire-titan exploded, burning the battlefield. Aether consumed the flame and spat it back as black hellfire.

Fourth Duel – The shadowless monk attacked silently, striking Aether's soul.

Aether bled.

But smiled.

"You hit me. So let me return the favor."

He struck once.

The monk's body collapsed like ash.

Final Opponent – The stitched child opened its mouth. No sound came.

But reality itself began unraveling.

Even Aether flinched.

Until Oroboros screamed in a voice older than gods.

"ENOUGH!"

The child collapsed, choking on its own broken spell.

Four dead.

One vanished.

Aether stood, chest bleeding, skin burnt—but eyes clear.

"Tell your gods…"

"…I no longer kneel."

Back in the floating citadel, Aira stared into the Mirror of All Truths.

It showed two paths.

One where she sided with Heaven, led armies to kill Aether…

And lived as a queen, but with eyes always crying.

The other… she stood beside him.

Not as a lover. Not as a soldier.

But as someone who understood his pain.

She whispered:

"I choose… the path where he doesn't die alone."

She stepped into the shadows.

The Celestial Lords sat in rage.

"He defeated the Guillotine!"

"He dares evolve past our system!"

"What is Beelzebubb doing? Why give him this much power?!"

An ancient voice echoed in the chamber.

"Because the world needs a monster who can slay gods."

A throne of bones cracked open—revealing the true form of Beelzebubb.

He grinned.

"And I gave him mine."
