"So should I take it for a yes?"
"You do know that this super humans project is not going to work, right? First of all its illegal and second, This will take years and years of hard work to generate a single successful result. " Felix was off blown by just thinking about.
"But that single successful result could get us to the top.The risk is worth it.and speaking about your concern, nothing that the government does is illegal" Alejandro replied with a cold smile. Clearly, he wasn't in the mood to back off. Meanwhile, the food that he was savoring earlier kept getting colder.
"Mr. Alejandro I hope you know that this is completely unethical." Felix rubbed the bridge of his nose trying to explain.
"Everything is fair in love and war. You have been blinded by the term "unethical" for years. Tell me, Felix. Is it unethical to protect the lives of your loved ones? Around 66.65 million people live in this country. Think of every single one of them. When the war breaks out and you witness women and children get slaughtered right before your eyes, will you keep questioning your ethics or fight off to protect them?" the smile on Alejandro's face was long gone.
Felix was stunned. He couldn't deny Alejandro. A part of him knew Alejandro was right but the other part of him was aware that what destruction this project could result in. even if Felix kept his morals aside, experimenting on humans was a crime that was punishable to death or even worse. He couldn't risk his entire life.
"You see Mr. Felix, even if you don't work for us, someone else probably will. Ambition takes a man to new heights. I just wanted to offer you a golden chance to buy Nikita the car that she wanted.
Alejandro had done it again. He had successfully dragged Nikita into their conversation knowing she was his weakness. Flames sparked through Felix as heard Alejandro take Nikita's name. He was reminded of the reason he was here today.
"Don't mind me, please. I am just a government employee who has access to the public's personal information. There is nothing going on between us." Alejandro had noticed the anger fuming up in Felix's eyes.
"The things that you spitted out yesterday of course weren't a part of the government records." Felix scoffed remembering how Alejandro had mentioned his girlfriend's sexual habits.
"We are trained to play dirty my dear. If I had invited you for a dinner straight up, you would never have had made time for me out of your busy schedule. I am sorry for the nuisance that I made." A wave of relief passed through Felix as he heard Alejandro explain. He was thankful that Nikita wasn't cheating on him.
"Now that we have everything crystal clear between us, I will give you a week to ponder over everything and decide for yourself. I think you are smart enough to know that this is a secret between us and it should remain as such."

"So how about a movie night?" Oscar suggested while handing over coffee mugs to everyone around.
"Can't. I have a night shift at the hospital tonight." Marcel immediately protested at the idea.
"You have always been a pain in the ass to our plans, marcel. Thanks for consistently ruining them." Oscar flamed up upon his response.
It was their weekly get-together and Oscar was always the most enthusiastic one among the group of four.
"What would an unemployed man know about work hours? Being a doctor isn't easy." Marcel was ready for an argument.
"Honestly at this point, I think you have spent three fourth of your life reminding everyone that you are a doctor. Do you want me to carve that shit on your tombstone? R.I.P here lies marcel Salvador, who was once a VIRGIN DOCTOR" Oscar scoffed.
"I don't take opinions from men that wear hideous floral shirts around." Marcel mocked his sense of style. Oscar was known for wearing floral patterned shirts every time, everywhere.
Aiden, who was almost half dead laying on the couch, trying to get some sleep noticed the atmosphere was heating up between them and intervened in between.
"GUYS! I THINK WE WERE HERE FOR HAVING A GOOD TIME. STOP FIGHTING!" he said trying to calm down the situation.
Both marcel and Oscar ended their argument but the weird silence that followed was even more disturbing.
"I noticed Felix has been sitting quietly for way too long. Tell us something. What are you thinking about?" Aiden inquired trying to ease up the tense atmosphere.
"Nothing much. I was just wondering if -...….. Ah, forget it." Felix resisted the urge to share his thoughts.
"No backing off. Go on, tell us." Aiden persisted.
"I was wondering…. No...…I don't know how I should word it...this is just a hypothetical question...if given a chance, would you participate in something that would kill others in return for 50 million?" Felix finally spoke his mind out.
"For 50 million, I'd kill myself!" Oscar almost choked on his coffee and immediately blurted out in response, receiving laughter from everyone around.
"I like your spirit of volunteering. I will immediately start looking for a sponsor." Marcel immediately took his chance to shot fires of sarcasm at him. Before Oscar could speak, Aiden interrupted:
"If you ask me, I would kill for a lot less." His answer was the same as Oscar's.
"What about you, marcel?" Felix asked, hoping for him to answer differently than the rest.
"I have encountered many deaths in the medical field. Honestly, death doesn't affect me anymore. I will definitely go for it." Marcel disappointed him. Felix had expected him to show some empathy.
"I think all of us are a bunch of psychopaths with no sense of morality." Oscar shamelessly joked. Suddenly a question popped up in his head.
"What about you, Felix. Would you do it?"
