Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Soul and Eternity

Darkness.

An eternal void, cold, unfathomable. There was no up or down, no time, no space. Only him… and his helplessness.

He didn't know who he was. He didn't remember his name, his face, nothing from his past life. He only knew that he existed. He was a soul, drifting aimlessly in an ocean of nothingness.

And yet, he wasn't alone.

Before him, suspended like bubbles of light in the infinite, unfolded entire universes, dancing in harmony. Worlds he recognized, though he didn't know how.

—That's… Marvel… —he whispered without lips, without sound, but with certainty burning in his mind—. And… is that… Hogwarts?

A shiver of excitement coursed through him. But excitement soon turned to ice within him: he couldn't touch them.

He could only watch.

Then the unthinkable happened.

The bubbles began to crack.

First, a fine line on the surface of the ninja world he knew as Naruto. Then another, on what seemed to be his own world. And in a blink—if he could blink—everything was filled with fractures. The very fabric of existence was tearing apart.

Fragments of universes collided with each other. Impossible creatures screamed in the void. Everything was collapsing… and he couldn't do anything.

—Damn it! I don't even have a body… I can't do anything! —his mind roared in silence.

And for the first time since he awakened, he felt insignificant.

But then… something answered.

A blue flash pierced the nothingness, warm, enveloping, charged with power. The void spoke:

Body Reconstruction: Initiated

His soul began to shine with blinding intensity, until the nothingness turned pure white. He felt weight, warmth, heartbeat. He felt nonexistent air caress his skin.

He opened his eyes. Two blue suns gleamed in the endless dark.

He was… alive.

His body was young, with muscles defined like those of an athlete, yet slim, built for speed and agility, not brute strength. His white hair fell messily over his forehead, framing a face with sharp, elegant features, almost ethereal.

And he was completely naked.

For a moment, he looked at himself, moving his hands, flexing his fingers, feeling the perfection of this new organism.

He laughed softly. It was the first sound he produced in this new life.

—I'm… real… —he murmured with a smile.

Then he saw it.

Floating before him, majestic, imposing, the TARDIS. Blue, eternal, spinning gently like a beacon in the middle of the void. Beside it, the sonic screwdriver vibrated, calling to him like a natural extension of his being.

He walked toward it, each step echoing like a heartbeat in the nothingness. He placed his hand on the TARDIS door, and it opened with its unmistakable sound:

VWORP… VWORP… VWORP…

Golden light enveloped him. Inside, an entire universe awaited: consoles, living energy, history and future intertwined.

He took the screwdriver, twisted it with a satisfying click, and smiled with the certainty carved into his bones.

He was no longer a nameless soul.

He was now the Doctor.

—If these worlds are dying… —he said, adjusting the collar of a coat the TARDIS materialized over his shoulders— …then I'll save them.

The void roared as the TARDIS doors closed. And with one last echo of the time rotor, it vanished into the impossible horizon.

The adventure had begun.
