Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Medical Ninjutsu

White Fang had a broad and sturdy back, just like his strong and dependable nature. In fact, when Anya was finally facing two Jonin alone, he had already planned to intervene. However, he hadn't expected Anya's *Genjutsu* to be so powerful—even his sharp insight couldn't pierce through that endless darkness.

This darkness unsettled him, so now he understood the Third's concerns. Anya was indeed different from an ordinary child; his heart concealed a force of darkness.

Anya, barely holding on, said, "Teacher, you went in just now too, right? How was my swordplay? Give me some feedback."

Recalling the moment the wind had vanished with that blade, White Fang replied truthfully, "That was too forced. If I hadn't been right behind you, after using that move, you'd have been at someone else's mercy."

Enduring the pain, Anya forced an ugly grin and said, "I knew you were right behind me, which is why I dared to go all out. This blade is the culmination of six months of training."

White Fang praised, "A truly impressive blade. Do you have a name for it?"

"A name?" Anya hesitated; he hadn't really considered it.

"Since it doesn't have one yet, let's call it [Sword Art] then."

"Alright."

As he said this last word, Anya finally collapsed, passing out on White Fang's back. Although he wasn't injured in the battle, his chakra—his inner energy—had been completely drained, and his body was severely exhausted. It was undeniable: being a ninja really was a dangerous business.

White Fang quickly carried Anya to Konoha's hospital. The medical ninja there clearly recognized White Fang. They were all quite puzzled because White Fang rarely got injured and almost never came here. However, upon seeing the child on his back, they seemed to understand.

Upon arrival, White Fang asked directly, "Where is Tsunade?"

A medical ninja replied, "Tsunade-sama is in seclusion, researching new *Medical Ninjutsu*. She specifically said no one is to disturb her."

White Fang slightly furrowed his eyebrows, "I have an urgent matter. Tell me where she is."

Realizing the urgency in White Fang's tone, the medical ninja quickly pointed in the right direction.

White Fang leaped straight to the hospital's secret chamber and pushed the door open directly.

An enraged voice came out, "Didn't I say not to disturb me at will?"

The voice came from the young Tsunade. In front of her were various bottles and jars; clearly, she was researching new medications.

Upon recognizing White Fang, her anger eased slightly, although her displeasure remained as she asked, "What's so urgent?"

White Fang placed Anya in front of Tsunade and said, "This kid is severely exhausted; I believe only you can heal him quickly."

Without a word, Tsunade activated her green chakra and placed her hands on Anya's chest. A few seconds later, Tsunade sucked in a cold breath, "His body is drained beyond belief—it's practically on the brink of collapse. All of his energy channels are damaged. If we don't treat him immediately, his path as a ninja will be cut short."

White Fang hadn't expected that move of Anya's to have such severe consequences. It seemed the mission he had given him had been somewhat beyond his capacity. After a long pause, he replied, "I sent him on a mission."

Tsunade was clearly unaware of the mission given to White Fang. She asked curiously, "Isn't he still a genin? What kind of mission did you take him on that left him so exhausted?"

White Fang sighed and replied, "I had him finish my mission. He handled it well enough."

Tsunade's eyes widened in shock. "You let a child complete your mission?"

Although she didn't know the specifics of White Fang's assignment, it was obvious the Third Hokage wouldn't assign a simple task to an elite jonin—that would be sheer waste. In that case, this boy must have at least fought against someone with jonin-level abilities.

"This is absolute recklessness! You've gone too far," Tsunade couldn't help but scold.

White Fang didn't get angry. He nodded and said, "It was indeed my fault. As his teacher, I failed to properly supervise him."

Seeing White Fang admit his mistake, Tsunade could say no more. She bent down and activated her chakra, the green chakra light in her hands shining brightly, while a small slug simultaneously climbed onto Anya's body. She started treating him using both techniques simultaneously, and Anya's previously pale face gradually regained some color.

Half-conscious, Anya smelled a faint fragrance and drowsily opened his eyes. A huge mountain lay directly in front of him. On instinct, he leaned forward and buried his head into it.

Wow, so soft and comfortable, it almost made his mouth water.

Anya hadn't even begun savoring the sensation when a sharp pain suddenly struck his face. His entire body spun 360 degrees midair before crashing heavily onto the ground.

The sharp pain immediately woke him up completely. In front of him stood an enraged, blushing face—both beautiful and furious—while White Fang stood off to the side, visibly stunned.

Seeing him finally awake, Tsunade coldly remarked, "Didn't see that coming. You're young yet already a little pervert."

Anya quickly pieced things together in his head. Tsunade had clearly been healing him before he shamelessly took advantage of her. Given her personality and status, leaving such a bad impression wouldn't be good. Thinking fast, he came up with a plan. With his swollen, red face, he said sorrowfully, "I wasn't fully awake yet. In my daze, I just thought of my mother from when I was little. That's why I did it. It's a shame she's not here with me anymore."

As expected, many women tended to be more emotionally sensitive. As soon as Anya said that, Tsunade's anger vanished completely, replaced instead by a surge of guilt. She couldn't help thinking: Had she gone too far with this child? And what if half of his injuries weren't healed yet and were worsened by that slap?

Gently, Tsunade said, "Come over and lie down. Your wounds haven't been fully healed yet."

"Oh, okay." Anya hastily nodded and staggered over. However, as he lifted his head, he caught sight of White Fang's clearly disdainful gaze. Obviously, that excuse worked on Tsunade, but it couldn't fool his teacher.

Fortunately, being his student, White Fang chose not to expose him. Otherwise, if Anya had said something like, "I picked that up from my teacher," White Fang's reputation would've been destroyed forever.

Anya felt Tsunade's gentle healing, her body rapidly recovering under the effect of her Chakra. Even the earlier swelling on her face had faded to nothing more than a faint red dot, and combined with her naturally sharp, boyish face, it softened her look in a surprisingly endearing way.

It was only then that Anya truly realized how powerful Tsunade was. Isn't she the perfect woman? Especially in times of war, having Tsunade by your side was worth a thousand soldiers!

Anya blurted out without thinking, "Tsunade-sama, you're so beautiful. Can I ask you out?"
