Chapter 2 - A Stranger Beneath the Rain

Alex was a cold, distant man—haunted by shadows no one could understand.

He had no family, no warmth, no softness left in his soul. His name had once made headlines—criminal charges at seventeen: the murder of his father, rape allegations, and domestic violence against his mother. But the truth was far more twisted than the world ever knew.

He had never been convicted for the rape; the case had collapsed from lack of evidence. His father was an abuser, and his mother, too afraid to speak, suffered in silence. But the world didn't want the truth. It wanted a story. So, Alex became the villain.

Still, there was one person he had ever truly loved—his mother.

When Alex was imprisoned, his mother fought to free him. In a tragic turn, she died in a car accident while trying to gather proof of his innocence. That day, Alex's last remaining piece of humanity shattered.

After serving two long years behind bars, he was released. And then… he rose.

At twenty-six, Alex was now the CEO of a multimillion-dollar empire, having clawed his way back to the top through sheer willpower and icy focus. People feared him, respected him. But no one knew him. He had never dated, never let anyone close. He was known as a disciplined perfectionist, a man of quiet routines, razor-sharp decisions, and a heart made of stone.

And yet, despite everything, Alex had always respected women. Deeply. Fiercely. He never crossed boundaries. He never flirted. He never touched. Even when his past was painted with accusations, he chose silence over defense, letting the truth rot with time.

He was a caretaker by nature—gentle in small, unseen ways. But fate had never given him anyone to care for again.

That night—the same stormy night Luna's world had fallen apart—Alex was walking home. He had refused his BMW's ride for once, choosing instead to stroll through the soft hush of the rainy night. The raindrops danced against his umbrella as the world around him melted into a blur of gray and gold lights.

The air was cozy. Peaceful. Quiet.

But fate had something else in store.

And then… the plot twisted.
