Chapter 57 - Heavenly Asura Path 57

Chapter 57: Liu Yijun

Liu Yijun was a boring man. His entire life was spent surrounded by amazing and friendly people: Be it his own parents, his uncles, or friends he made throughout his life; he was lucky to have wonderful people around him. Of course, this is not to say that he doesn't know effort, sadness, or tragedy.

But, right now, he was a boring man. No, it's not that he was boring in personality or didn't like doing anything, he just had nothing to do. He was literally too bored.

But to know more about him, one would have to understand his life.

When Liu Yijun was six years old, he discovered that he was born with a level 10 innate soul power and a strange martial spirit. Generally, when a couple with powerful martial spirits had a child, said child would awaken a martial spirit as a mix of the two and many times the martial spirit was somewhat better than one of the spirits of one of its parents.

His father had the God-Slaying Saber and his mother had a Fire Dragon. Many thought that he would awaken one of his father's spirits, or perhaps a Fire Saber, or a similar Saber. They even thought that it might be a dragon, perhaps not a Fire one, but a Dragon nonetheless.

And yes, he did awaken a Dragon as a Martial Spirit, but not a normal one. It was not a Fire Dragon, nor a Blue Lightning Dragon like the members of his grandfather's clan. Liu Yijun's Martial Spirit had the Metal attribute.

It was a strange Martial Spirit, because it was not completely Attack-type, but not completely Defensive-type either; it was something in between the two.

Regardless, from that point on, he was trained by his mother and father. These were difficult times, because every day he would end up with injuries and completely tired. In those years he did not understand why his parents had started training him so harshly, but he persevered.

By the time he turned eight, his soul power level had reached an astonishing level 25, quite high for a child of his age. By the time he turned twelve, he had already reached level 32. But it was that year that he understood the reason for his parents.

They were gods.

The goddess of love and the god of asura respectively. He cried loudly, screamed and begged them not to leave, but they could not stay any longer. They explained that they would cause trouble if they stayed any longer.

And at the same time that they left, others followed them. His aunt Bibi Dong, his aunt Artemis, his father's disciple Zhu Zhuqing and the latter's friends. All the people who had cared for him and trained him; those who laughed with him and hugged him when he was afraid, had all left that same day.

Liu Yijun had been angry. He knew that none of them were lying, that they did not want to leave him, but they were forced to. He cried and stayed in the house where they lived for months. Only when a year had passed without training or fighting, was when he decided to leave and continue with his life.

His journey was riddled with encounters and battles.

He met good people, bad people, friends and enemies. He fell in love and also had his heart broken. He fought again and again, losing and winning repeatedly.

And then, there was war.

Two empires fighting, spiritual masters of all levels giving their lives for their families and duties. Innocents dying of hunger or being caught up in the flames of war...

Liu Yijun felt tired of seeing so much death. He did not understand the desire of those people who instigated the war for more power and territory. The Emperors were the ones in charge, they had food, their kingdoms had food, power, territory to spare, but they wanted more? Why? They were all dying for something that seemed foolish in the end. The territories they so desired burned and could not be used, the emperors were not suitable for the power they so longed for.

Why? was what Liu Yijun asked himself at that moment.

At that moment, seeing himself involved without his will, a flame of hatred stained Liu Yijun's heart. Hatred for those people who had no regard for life, hatred for those greedy for power who achieved nothing but living at the expense of the lives of others.

Tired, weary, and a heart filled with hatred for war and the people who caused it, he stood up before everyone. Slowly, some people saw a ray of hope in a man who hated war just like them. And as more and more chose to follow him, the war had become a three-sided one.

Liu Yijun, once again tasted defeat and victory. He, once again, discovered love and suffered again. Once again, he went through trials, encounters, and battles.

When Liu Yijun was 32 years old, he almost lost his life. When he was fighting against two level 96 titled douluo, each from an empire, empires that had united upon seeing that he and his group were a danger to both. And yet, when he was losing, he was able to see his parents once again.

His father, usually serious, but with a streak of humor that he always remembered, looked at him with pride and a surprising smile. His mother, who while kind, could rage and rage like the worst hell, cried while hugging him saying that she had missed him, but that it was not yet time to meet.

At that moment, when he was almost at his last breath, a power he did not know about had awakened in his body. He had never thought about it, but he was the son of two gods. He had enormous possibilities and a simply amazing heritage. Then, when he opened his eyes once more, a red light flashed from his forehead, covering the battlefield with endless killing intent as a sword like no other appeared in his right hand.

The broken metal scales that had surrounded his body thanks to his martial spirit seemed to recover and regenerate at an unimaginable speed as his now red eyes looked towards his enemies.

At that moment, any nearby battlefield stopped and no matter who it was, they all raised their heads as they watched Liu Yijun brandish the sword, delivering a single slash that split the heaven and earth. The two titled douluo experts couldn't even react, they could only watch frozen as they were cut into thousands of pieces and only left a bloody mist behind.

"Relax…", he could still hear his father's voice that year. It was gentle and careful as he took the asura demonic sword from his son's hand. As the son of the Asura God, he was allowed to use the asura demonic sword, but that was only for a very short period of time and he would end up exhausted when that time was up.

His father had told him that as his son, he would be able to use his divine tool, but only if he sealed it in him and it remained in his body for a long time. The only way he would be able to use the full power of the weapon was if he passed the Asura God's trials.

His mother, on the other hand, who didn't even seem concerned about wars, told him not to worry about women, that in the realm of gods there were many opportunities that would give him a grandson. Liu Yijun could only see his mother with a slightly embarrassed expression and a large drop of sweat behind her head. And with a single look, his father told him not to take too much importance to his mother's words.

He couldn't help but laugh when he woke up two days later. His battles continued, but his heart seemed much calmer and not as heavy after seeing his parents and understanding how worried they had been. Unlike mortals who were worried about war, they only cared about their son. And even if they were really worried about war, they couldn't do much of anything because of the rules governing the realm of gods.

After that event, Liu Yijun became a titled douluo.

Liu Yijun continued to train, fight, and win. His Asura God trials began and progressed as he grew stronger. The battles subsided and the war had reached a point where the two powers could not withstand Liu Yijun's power.

Just like the spirit hall years ago, Liu Yijun and his large group stopped the wars on the Douluo Continent and established themselves as the Asura Sect. The sect earned its place as the number one power on the continent when it stopped multiple cases of potential wars or people trying to do evil on a larger scale than a small group could stop.

Many wanted to join the Sect, and it really wasn't extremely difficult, but one essential thing was required: Loyalty. But this was not a loyalty just to the sect, but also to the peace of the continent. Liu Yijun and the higher-ups did not want a war like the one they had stopped to happen again, so new members could not join other places after joining, they also could not support their families if they belonged to a clan or academies if they came from one. They had to remain neutral to the other powers on the continent and serve as an agent of deterrence and balance.

The Empires remained as one after the war, so that the kingdoms affiliated with each empire would not start to become too bold. If the empires had dissolved, then said kingdoms would be claiming more territory than another, more food or resources; in the end, the dissolution of the empires could only create more problems.

In the end, the Asura Sect became the defender of laws and peace across the continent.

But Liu Yijun could not allow the sect to become corrupted. Such a thing would only cause the original purpose of the sect to become twisted and then lose its purpose. Therefore, as the last act on the mortal plane, after finishing the Asura God trials, Liu Yijun left an item in the sect. This item would not only serve the purpose of choosing the next sect head, but also a means to probe the person. If he was not eligible, he would simply be rejected by the object, if the person was corrupt he would end up dead. Finally, as he would be the Asura God, he had to look for a future heir, so he left the latter on the object; a red light would illuminate the object if he was eligible for the latter.

And so we come to the present. Liu Yijun inheriting his father's seat as God Asura, but boring. Oh, he had met everyone once again. His father, now much more serious about having to form a new kingdom of gods, his mother was still the same as always, but the idea of having a grandson was still on his mind and giving his son headaches. He saw his aunt Bibi Dong again, but now she was his second mother. His aunt Artemis... she had a strange relationship with his father. They always seemed to have a good relationship, but when his aunt tried something, his father would take that moment to make fun of her, then Artemis would get angry and after a few minutes she would come back huffing and hug Percy.

Leaving the strange things aside, Liu Yijun considered her another mother.

"What are you thinking about?" a voice brought Liu Yijun out of his thoughts. Sitting on his God throne, he looked to the side. A blonde-haired, incredibly beautiful woman was standing looking at him with an amused smile.

"Ah… just how boring my life had become," Liu Yijun replied before sighing.

"Hahaha… You united the Douluo Continent, but now you sit there, bored and unable to find an heir. Oh, how low the greats have fallen."

"Hmph… Don't talk to me about an heir. You don't have one either!" Liu Yijun grunted a little, thinking how annoying it was to not be able to find an heir in over twenty years. It was twenty years, but on the Douluo Planet, it had been like ten thousand years. That was too much without being able to find an heir!"

"I found her…"

"… "

"… "

Liu Yijun stood still before slowly shifting his eyes towards the woman. His neutral expression had turned into one of disbelief before turning to annoyance and then envy. The woman could only laugh as she watched the changing expression on her friend's face.

"Indeed, everyone has found an heir."

"What? Who are they all?", alarmed, Liu Yijun asked with a bit of surprise.

"Zhu Zhuqing, Bibi Dong, your mother Liu Erlong, I think Rakshasa also found an heir again… Of course, I did too."

"No…", Liu Yijun was sweating with an ashen expression.

"In no time, I'll be enjoying a nice glass of wine while traveling through the universe."

"God!... I mean, me! Argh!", Liu Yijun shouted in annoyance as he stood up from his throne before shouting at the top of his lungs.

"Well, I've already fulfilled my purpose in visiting. See you, little Asura."

"Shut up! I'm not small, I'm not small anywhere!" he shouted as he pointed at the woman. "If there was anything small in this room, it would be your breasts, Angel Goddess!"

The Angel Goddess, Qian Renxue, covered her breasts. They weren't small, but they weren't big either. She blushed furiously before growling.

"At least I'm not a loner who doesn't know what to do!"

"I have a lot of things to do!"

"Like what?!"

"This… and that… It's none of your business!"

"Why the hell are you all yelling so much?!" Liu Erlong appeared angrily with a little girl who was rubbing her eyes sleepily. The girl looked like she had just woken up and her long, black hair was messy. She was also wearing a red dragon-shaped full-body pajama.

She looked too adorable.

"You woke up your sister, Yijun!"

"What?… She was screaming too."

Rolling his eyes, Liu Erlong said, "Just confess your love already. Everyone knows you two love each other."

"Hehe… Big brother likes angel sister," the little girl laughed as she listened to her mother as she teased her brother.

The two of them blushed before snorting.

"I'm off…" Qian Renxue proudly looked up and gave Liu Yijun a glance before leaving.

The third generation Asura God sat dejectedly and looked at his mother, as if he was blaming her for something.

"Eh… what's with that look?" Liu Erlong glared at him.

"Mom, let's go quickly. I have to go play with Purple Uncle," the little girl's words seemed to bring her brother out of his bad mood. He laughed as he recalled how the God of Destruction was completely in his little sister's palm. Since he couldn't have children with his wife, the goddess of life, they became completely attached to their sister.

"I hope he won't be caught messing around again. Last time he broke the legs of the God of Greed."

"Hui Mie is too shy, son," Liu Erlong smiled.

"Liliana is too adorable..." Liu Yijun smiled as he shook his head, recalling several times when Hui Mie couldn't refuse his sister's puppy-like eyes.

"By the way, where's my father?"

"Busy," Liu Erlong frowned slightly: "He has been continuously working on creating the new god realm. Even if a God-King can create a god realm, it still takes time and it is not easy to do so. Even more so when such a realm will have to allow another race like the spirit beasts, even if they are not all."

Having heard from her father, little Liliana took out a scarlet-colored dagger and smiled as she waved it back and forth, as if it was not dangerous.

"Where the hell did you get that from?" Liu Erlong said fiercely.

"Hey, you can't take it away from me! Dad gave it to me to defend myself!"

"That man…" Snorting fiercely, Liu Erlong put away the dagger and looked at his daughter: "Why would he give you something so dangerous?"

"Dad says to use the pointy side and bury it in the weird uncles' bodies when I meet one."

"Hahahaha! That's dad!" Liu Yijun raised his head and laughed heartily. He then looked at his sister and said seriously, "You can also aim for the knees and break them hard."

Liu Erlong didn't know what to do with two such protective men in his family.

"Purple Uncle recommends aiming for the liver. Mom, what is the liver?"

Slapping his face with one hand, Liu Erlong shook his head before leading his daughter out of his son's castle. He couldn't continue listening to his daughter being corrupted.

Elsewhere, the God of Destruction was sitting at a small table with two cups of tea. Liliana had told him that she had wanted to play tea yesterday, so he had prepared for the occasion.

"Lord, I have the…" a tanned skinned man entered the room and stopped when he saw his lord, the God of Destruction. Their gazes met tightly and the God of Greed began to sweat, cursing his bad luck.

A tense silence filled the room as their gazes did not move from one another. The God of Greed however, had his face and back covered in sweat.

"Do you want me to break your legs or will you do it yourself?"

"Ah… No, I… I'm sorry…" he stammered as he backed away to try and escape.

"Perhaps it's better to remove your memories… by force."

"No! No, please, sir! I'll break my legs by myself!"

That day, the God of Greed's cry of pain echoed throughout the realm of gods once again.
