Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 – “Bloodlines and Broken Truths”

A Confrontation in the Mansion

The air in the Sahputra mansion was still. Heavy.

Adrian Yusof sat in the grand living room, his posture relaxed, but his eyes—sharp, alert. Across from him sat Calvin, unmoving, jaw tight. Between them stood Arora, holding her newborn son, Caled Junior Aiden, in her arms.

> "So," Calvin began slowly, his voice even, "You're the father."

Adrian nodded without hesitation.

> "Yes. I never knew. Not until I saw her face again."

Arora looked down at her son, gently brushing his tiny hair.

> "He deserves to know his father," she said, her voice soft, trembling just slightly.

Calvin leaned forward, locking eyes with Adrian.

> "If you're here to stay, you'll follow my rules. One wrong step—"

> "I'm not your enemy, Calvin," Adrian interrupted calmly. "And I'm not here to take anything from you. I'm only here… to take responsibility."

---

Fini's Doubts

Fini stood quietly at the top of the staircase, unseen, listening.

Her heart twisted—not with jealousy—but with fear.

Why now? Why Adrian? Why return after all this time?

Later, in their room, Calvin held her waist and whispered:

> "He's not here for you. He's here for Arora. I won't let anyone touch you again."

But Fini couldn't ignore the feeling crawling in her chest.

> "What if it's not a coincidence? What if someone sent him?"

---

Lilith's Strange Symptoms

The next morning, chaos broke.

Liora's daughter, Lilith Charlene Sahputra, only two years old, was found unconscious on the nursery floor.

Fini screamed.

Calvin rushed to her side.

Arora dialed the emergency number.

Lilith's lips were pale, her pulse weak.

> "She's not breathing!" the maid shouted.

At the hospital, the doctor spoke grimly.

> "It's not natural. We suspect poisoning. But only a trace. Someone knew what they were doing."

Fini collapsed into Calvin's arms.

> "Who would do this to a child?!"

---

Liora Makes Her Move

Far away, in a small house near the jungle edge, Liora stood by the window, watching the clouds gather.

A small, cold smile played on her lips.

> "I told you I'd come back through the child. But that… that was just a warning."

On the table, an old letter lay open.

It was from Maria, the maid who had vanished after being exposed.

And it spoke of Adrian.

> "He knows more than you think. He's not just here for Arora."

Liora poured herself a glass of red wine.

> "Let the games begin."

Adrian & Arora – Facing Their Future

At the hospital, as Lilith recovered in a private room, Arora and Adrian sat alone in the hallway.

Adrian looked at Arora with warmth in his eyes.

> "I was alone for so long. Until you. That night... I felt alive."

Arora looked away, embarrassed.

> "It was one night. I didn't think you'd remember me."

Adrian chuckled.

> "I never forgot you. And now we have a son."

She turned to him, searching his expression.

> "Are you really staying?"

Adrian reached out and touched her hand gently.

> "I want to raise him with you. If you'll let me."

Arora was silent… then nodded.

> "Yes. Let's do this. Together."

No lies.

No secrets.

---

At the End of the Day…

Fini kissed Lilith's forehead as the little girl finally opened her eyes.

Akihiro ran into the room and hugged his little sister tightly.

> "Don't be sick again," he whispered.

Fini looked at Calvin.

> "We're not safe anymore. I want security tripled. No one enters this house without your permission."

Calvin nodded.

> "It's already done. This war ends with us. And I'll protect this family with everything I have."

But in the shadows—someone was watching. Listening. Waiting.

The final storm had not yet come.
