Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Chains of Love and Law

Fini sat quietly on the edge of her bed, the divorce papers untouched in front of her. Her fingers trembled slightly as she stared at the name printed next to hers: Calvin Sahputra. The man who once made her heart flutter… and now made it ache.

But before she could even breathe, her phone buzzed.

Ezra.

> "We need to talk, Fini. No more waiting."

They met at a quiet café tucked into a corner of the city. Ezra's eyes were soft but urgent.

> "You said you'd leave him. So when? Am I just your second choice?"

Fini lowered her gaze. "I'm trying, Ezra. But everything is messy now."

> "You're pregnant, Fini. Do you even know whose child it is?"

His question burned. She hadn't told anyone the truth yet. Not even herself.

---

Meanwhile, Calvin sat in his lawyer's office, eyes sharp, hands clenched.

> "She filed for divorce," his lawyer said flatly.

"But if you act fast, we can delay it. If she's pregnant, that's leverage."

Calvin didn't flinch.

> "Do it. I won't lose her. Not like this."

---

But destiny had its own plans.

That night, alone in her apartment, Fini suddenly doubled over, clutching her stomach.

Pain.

She gasped, barely managing to call for help.

---

At the hospital, the doctor frowned at her chart.

> "You're pushing yourself too hard, Mrs. Sahputra. Stress, anxiety, emotional trauma — it's all affecting the baby. If you want to carry to term, you must rest. No more drama."

Fini closed her eyes. She had no more strength to cry.

---

Just as things began to settle… Liora returned.

She walked into Fini's father's office like a storm in heels — calm but destructive. She dropped a USB drive onto the table.

> "Watch it. Then decide if you still want your daughter to look 'innocent.'"

The screen lit up with footage of Fini and Ezra — at night, in a park, hugging, too close. Fini's father said nothing as he watched.

> "She's having an affair during her marriage. And now, she wants to walk away clean? I don't think so," Liora smirked.

---

Elsewhere, Arora quietly packed her bags.

She stood at the window, staring at the empty driveway.

> "He still loves her. Not me. I'm tired of chasing ghosts."

She left without saying goodbye.

---

Later that week, Fini's father called for a family dinner — more of a confrontation than a reunion. Tension hung in the air like a thick fog.

Then Liora did the unthinkable.

As everyone sat down, she leaned close to Calvin and kissed him — full, possessive, bold.

Gasps echoed through the room.

Fini stared. Frozen.

Calvin immediately pushed Liora away, furious. "What the hell are you doing?"

But it was too late. The damage was done.

Fini's father stood, his face red.

> "This is disgraceful. All of you — dragging my daughter into scandal after scandal!"

---

Later, in Calvin's private office, his phone buzzed again.

An email.

Subject: Petition for Child Custody – Pending

Ezra had filed for potential rights.

Calvin's hands tightened around the phone.

> "This isn't over. Not even close."

---

As Fini lay in her hospital bed, she whispered to herself:

> "I don't even know whose child this is… or who I am anymore."
