Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The First Soul Fight

Chapter 33: The First Soul Fight

The girl took the form Li Tian had filled out, a glint of excitement flashing in her eyes.

He was really only six years old.

What did a six-year-old Spirit Master mean? It meant his Innate spirit power was at least Rank eight or nine.

Even Innate Full spirit power was not impossible.

What did Li Tian's high talent have to do with her? Why was she so excited?

Because she had multiple part-time jobs.

As the registration supervisor for the Great Spirit Arena, they were often the first to come into contact with participating Spirit Masters.

She had partnerships with various forces.

If she discovered a Genius commoner Spirit Master, she only needed to disclose the information to these forces to receive a considerable reward.

And judging by Li Tian's attire, he was definitely a commoner.

"Little friend, may I ask what your Innate spirit power Rank is?"

In her excitement, the girl even forgot her manners.

Bluntly inquiring about someone else's Innate spirit power Rank was a very impolite behavior.

"Innate Full spirit power."

Li Tian had no intention of hiding it, because his age was already evident.

A six-year-old at Rank thirteen or fourteen, did his talent even need to be questioned?

Moreover, he hadn't forgotten his purpose for coming here; he just didn't know whose informant this girl was.

Innate Full spirit power!

A tumultuous wave surged in the girl's heart; she had actually encountered someone with Innate Full spirit power.

She'd struck it rich, she'd struck it rich! This was a huge windfall.

The girl immediately called someone to take Li Tian to test his Spirit and spirit power Rank.

Then she called another person and whispered a few words in his ear.

That person's eyes also lit up upon hearing it, and he hurriedly left the Great Spirit Arena.

Li Tian was led to a room.

After the test, he finally understood his specific spirit power Rank.

Rank fourteen.

A six-year-old Rank fourteen Spirit Master; this greatly shocked the staff responsible for the test.

Upon completing registration, Li Tian received an Iron Fighting Badge.

Fighting Badges were divided into eight Ranks: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Purple Gold, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond.

Advancement was based on a point system.

To advance from Iron Fighting Soul to Bronze Fighting Soul required one hundred points, from Bronze Fighting Soul to Silver Fighting Soul required one thousand points, and subsequent advancements followed this pattern.

Winning a match earned one point, while losing a match deducted one point.

If one achieved five or six consecutive victories, ten points were directly added, and each subsequent consecutive victory also awarded ten points.

And for more than ten consecutive victories, specifically eleven consecutive victories, one hundred points were directly added.

However, the Great Spirit Arena matched opponents based on the number of spirit rings a Spirit Master possessed.

The more victories one had, the higher the opponent's Rank.

If one had enough consecutive victories, it was possible for a Rank eleven to fight a Rank nineteen.

It wasn't that easy to advance.

After receiving the Iron Fighting Badge, the person in charge of the test called another individual.

Li Tian was then led to the Gambling Fighting Arena.

During this process, that person also briefly explained some information to Li Tian.

For example,

Fighting Soul matches required scheduling, so they couldn't start immediately.

Waiting was necessary.

For Iron Fighting Soul level matches, winning a single match earned a ten gold coin prize.

Losing, however, yielded nothing.

One could decide how many matches to participate in after registering, depending on the situation.

This meant that

he only needed to win one match to earn back his registration fee, and everything after that would be pure profit.

This was also why commoners liked to participate in Fighting Soul matches.

The Great Spirit Arena earned money from tickets and betting, not by exploiting the Spirit Masters participating in the fights.

The scheduling was completed quickly.

Li Tian's first match was to take place in Gambling Arena Number Nine.

One-on-one matches weren't particularly exciting, and tickets were cheap.

So all the contestants participating in one-on-one Fighting Soul matches were arranged to rest in a spacious room.

Most of the audience was at the team matches.

Similarly, team match tickets were more expensive, and the contestants' treatment was better.

Each team had a private resting room.

Inside the resting room, Li Tian's arrival immediately drew the attention of many people.

Their first reaction upon seeing Li Tian was bewilderment.

This little brat looked at most eight years old; was he already participating in Fighting Soul matches at such a young age?

However, despite their astonishment, there was no disdain or mockery.

Being able to enter this resting room indicated that the person was definitely a Fighting Soul contestant.

And the minimum requirement to participate in a Fighting Soul match was to be a one-ring Spirit Master.

No one was unclear about what a seven or eight-year-old one-ring Spirit Master meant.

Their eyes, as they looked at Li Tian, held only envy.

There were also some who had not opened their eyes the entire time, remaining in a meditative state.

Only this way could they participate in the Fighting Soul match in optimal condition.

Li Tian's Fighting Soul match soon began, and he walked into the entrance passage under the guidance of a staff member.

There was no pre-match hype; the two directly ascended the arena.

Because Fighting Soul matches at the Spirit Master Rank were not watched by many, especially since it was early morning.

Not even a ghost could be seen in the audience stands.

Li Tian's opponent was a thin middle-aged man who looked to be in his thirties.

A hint of surprise flashed across his opponent's face when he saw Li Tian.

He clearly hadn't expected his opponent to be Li Tian, this Genius.

"Both sides, salute!"

There were no spectators, and no impassioned commentary, but the normal procedures still had to be followed.

"Li Tian, Spirit Thousand Machine Umbrella, Rank fourteen one-ring Tool Spirit Master."

Li Tian didn't use any nicknames or wear any masks.

Because his appearance was too distinctive.

Children aged six or seven were rarely seen in the audience, let alone as participating Fighting Soul contestants.

Hiding or not hiding made no difference.

The middle-aged man saluted and said, "Gui Dao, Spirit Great Blade, Rank fifteen one-ring Tool Spirit Master."

The referee announced, "Both sides may release their Spirits!"

Golden spirit power light surged from Li Tian's right hand, and the Thousand Machine Umbrella condensed accordingly.

A yellow spirit ring rose from beneath his feet.

Seeing that yellow spirit ring, Gui Dao's expression turned somewhat grim; he hadn't expected to be so unlucky.

This was his first time encountering a Spirit Master with a hundred-year spirit ring.

Immediately after, a Great Blade Spirit condensed in his hand, but its spirit ring was white.

"Begin!"

At the referee's command, Gui Dao's figure suddenly rushed forward, his Great Blade striking directly towards Li Tian's head.

"Let's test the strength!"

Li Tian's Thousand Machine Umbrella thrust out like a long spear, its canopy suddenly opening.

"Bang!"

The Great Blade struck the umbrella canopy, emitting a muffled thud, but it didn't cause any ripples.

The strength wasn't strong.

Gui Dao was about to change direction when he saw the umbrella canopy move upwards, and a foot kicked out from behind the umbrella.

He blocked with his blade held horizontally.

"Bang!"

"Thump, thump, thump…"

Gui Dao retreated several steps before steadying himself, feeling incredibly shocked in his heart.

Such powerful strength.

Even a non-strength-type low-level Spirit Grandmaster might not be able to compare to him, right?

How could a Tool Spirit possess such terrifying strength?

Before Gui Dao could think further, the golden umbrella had already folded, transforming into a short spear and attacking him.

"Clang, clang, clang…"

The seemingly clumsy Great Blade appeared exceptionally agile in Gui Dao's hands; he handled the dense, rain-like attacks with ease.

A spear's essence lies in its dexterity, not its force.

Although Li Tian's strength was considerable, he couldn't fully exert it through the Thousand Machine Umbrella.

To fully exert it, he would have to change his Spirit.

However, against a Spirit Master whose first ring was white, there was no need for that at all.
