Once upon a time,
there was a girl called Ella Lucy.
And she saw the world
not always as it was,
but as perhaps it could be,
with just a little bit of magic.
Little Lucy was on a picnic with his parents Layla and Jude.
Lucy giggled when Layla her mother picked her up and cuddled her
LAYLA
My darling!
To her mother and father,
she was a princess.
True, she had no title,
nor crown, nor castle,
but she was the ruler
of her own little kingdom,
whose borders were the house
and meadow on the forest's edge
where her people
had lived for generations.
With Mr. Goose
and all their animal family.
Lucy's father was a merchant.
He travelled a lot to occupy and sell his own made craft work and design on clothes and furniture.
He would earn decent and lead a happy life with his family.
In weekend Lucy's father would return to her house. Lucy was looking from the window, waiting
JUDE
Hello, there.
What do you think you're doing?
LAYLA
Let the little ones have their share.
Lucy went to her mice friends and goose of the farm with some farm foods in her She gives them the foods to eat
LUCY
We don't want you getting
an upset stomach.
Gus-Gus, you're a house mouse,
not a garden mouse.
Isn't he, Jacqueline?
And you mustn't eat Mr. Goose's food.
Isn't that right, Mummy?
LAYLA
Do you still believe
that they understand you?
LUCY
- Don't they, Mother?
LAYLA
- Yes.
I believe that animals listen
and speak to us
if we only have the ear for it.
That's how we learn to look after them.
LUCY
Who looks after us?
LAYLA
Fairy godmothers, of course.
LUCY
And do you believe in them?
LAYLA
I believe in everything.
LUCY
Then I believe in everything, too.
As a merchant her father jude
who went abroad
and brought tribute back from
all of Lucy's subject lands.
JUDE
Lucy!
Where are my girls, my beautiful girls?
Where are my darlings?
Lucy missed him terribly
when he was away.
But she knew he would always
return. She came running to his father
JUDE
- There she is!
LUCY
- Papa, welcome home!
JUDE
How are you?
You've grown!
Haven't you, now?
- There you go, sir.
LUCY
- What was that?
JUDE
This?
His father showed her a box and when he opened it an artificial lavender blue butterfly bloomed up .
JUDE
I found it hanging on a tree.
I think there may be something
inside.
LUCY
It's so pretty.
JUDE
In French, that is un papillon.
You're standing on my feet!
Shall we?
And Jude danced with his beautiful blonde daughter Lucy.
LUCY
Look, Mummy! I'm dancing!
JUDE
Little papillon.
All was just as it should be.
They knew themselves to be the most
happy of families to live as they did
and to love each other so.
At night, Lucy was trying to sleep while her mother Layla sang a lullaby for her
When I am king
dilly, dilly
You shall be queen
Lavender's green
dilly, dilly
Lavender's blue
You must love me
dilly, dilly
For I love you.
Layla left Lucy's left .
Jude was talking to her while caressing her arms with his hand around her . Suddenly, out of nowhere, Layla had a stroke to her heart, the fable book fell from her and she collapsed to Jude's arm.
Next day, the doctor arrived and checked on Lucy's mother.
Doctor left her room and confronted to Jude
But sorrow can come to any kingdom,
no matter how happy.
And so it came to Lucy's home.
Doctor
I'm so sorry.
JUDE
Thank you, Doctor.
He said that in a cold and breaking voice
This must have been
very difficult for you.
LAYLA
Come.
Lucy.
Lucy, my darling.
I want to tell you a secret.
A great secret that will see you through
all the trials that life can offer.
You must always remember this.
Have courage and be kind.
She held Lucy's hand
You have more kindness
in your little finger
than most people possess
in their whole body.
And it has power, more than you know.
- And magic.
LUCY
- Magic?
LAYLA
Truly.
Have courage and be kind, my darling.
Layla was about to break in tears that she didn't have much time .
But she hoped her guidance will lead her to a graceful path
LAYLA
Will you promise me?
LUCY
I promise.
LAYLA
Good.
Good.
And...
I must go very soon, my love.
Please forgive me.
LUCY
Of course I forgive you.
LAYLA
I love you.
I love you, my darling.
LUCY
I love you.
Lucy hugged her mother and her father hugged them in a embrace of sorrow and cared for Layla as much as he can till the very end.
After Lucy's mother died, funeral was done and Lucy had to live a life as half orphan girl as she had no one but her father by his side
Time passed,
and pain turned to memory.
In her heart, Lucy stayed the same.
For she remembered
her promise to her mother.
Have courage, and be kind.
Her Father, Jude however, was much changed.
But he hoped for better times.
A grown up Lucy telling stories to his father who was in another thought but still looking like he's concentrating on what his daughter was reading over
LUCY
"And thence home,
"and my wife and I singing,
to our great content,
"and if ever there were a man
happier in his fortunes,
"I know him not."
Thus ends Mr. Pepys for today.
Lucy closed the book in a smile
LUCY
I do love a happy ending, don't you?
They're quite my favorite sort.
As well they should be.
JUDE
Lucy
I have come to the conclusion
that it's time, perhaps,
to begin a new chapter.
LUCY
Indeed, Father?
JUDE
You'll recall that some time ago,
in my travels,
I made the acquaintance
of Sir Francis Tremaine.
LUCY
Yes.
JUDE
The Master of the Mercer's Guild,
is he not?
Was.
The poor man has died, alas.
His widow,
an honorable woman,
finds herself alone,
though still in the prime of her life.
LUCY
You're worried about telling me.
But you mustn't be.
JUDE
Not if it will lead to your happiness.
LUCY
Yes.
JUDE
Happiness.
Do you think
I may be allowed one last chance,
even though I thought
such things were done with for good?
LUCY
Of course I do, Father.
JUDE
She'll merely be your stepmother.
And you'll have two lovely sisters
to keep you company.
Have courage, be kind.
And so few days later , a carriage arrived Infront of their house,a lady was escorted out with her pet cat and then her two quarrelsome daughters following her . Jude was waiting for them and as he noticed their arrival, he welcomed them in open arms.
JUDE
Welcome, ladies. Welcome!
She's skinny as a broomstick!
And that stringy hair!
You're very nice.
Welcome. I'm so happy to meet you.
You have such pretty hair.
LUCY
- Thank you.
- You should have it styled.
I'm sure you're right.
LUCY
- Would you like a tour of the
house?
- What did she say?
She wants to show us
around her farmhouse.
- She's proud of it, I think.
- Do they keep animals inside?
MINERVA
How charming. How perfectly charming.
Lucifer.
Lucy's stepmother-to-be
was a woman of keen feeling
and refined taste.
And she, too, had known grief.
But she wore it wonderfully well.
MINERVA
You did not say
your daughter was so beautiful.
JUDE
She takes after her...
MINERVA
Her mother.
Just so.
KAGURA
Her mother.
What's so charming about it?
FLARE
She's lying. That's just good manners.
MINERVA
Shut up.
How long has your family lived here?
JUDE
Over 200 years.
KAGURA
And in all that time,
they never thought to decorate?
MINERVA
Kagura, hush.
They'll think you are in earnest.
Lucy's stepmother,
high-spirited lady that she was,
set out to restore life
and laughter to the house.
Lucy could only endure and watch strangers getting into her house without even her father's permission. She was pretty against it but couldn't say since her step mother was pretty out of etiquette as a gentle lady should be
LUCY
You are awful, Baron.
Fortune favors me again.
Well, look who's having
a party of their own.
Jacqueline, Teddy, Matilda,
greedy Gus-Gus.
Lucy picks up the blue pet cat Lucifer
LUCY
Just what...
Yes, what do you think
you're up to, Lucifer?
Jacqueline is my guest,
and the eating of guests is not allowed.
Go on, now.
You've plenty of cat food
to keep you happy.
She let go of the blue Lucifer and it went back to her step mother
We ladies must help one another.
Lucy enters her father's personal studio room
JUDE
You're missing the party.
LUCY
I imagine it's much
like all the other ones.
And I'm leaving first thing, EI.
JUDE
No. But you're...
LUCY
You're hardly back from the last trip.
Do you have to go?
JUDE
It's just a few months, my darling.
What would you like me
to bring you home from abroad?
You know, your sisters...
Stepsisters, have asked for
parasols and lace.
What will you have?
LUCY
Bring me the first branch
your shoulder brushes on your journey.
That's a curious request.
Well, you'll have to take it with you
on your way
and think of me when you look at it.
And when you bring it back,
it means that you'll be with it.
And that's what I really want.
JUDE
For you to come back.
No matter what.
I will.
Lucy, while I'm away,
I want you to be good
to your stepmother
and stepsisters,
even though they may be
trying at times.
LUCY
- I promise.
JUDE
- Thank you.
JUDE
I always leave a part of me behind, Lucy.
Remember that.
And your mother's here, too,
though you see her not.
She's the very heart of this place.
And that's why
we must cherish this house,
always, for her.
LUCY
I miss her.
Do you?
JUDE
Very much.
Lucy hugged her father as grief took over them to the memory of Layla. Minerva was watching everything from a closed door and her heart also saddened for them but at same time darkened too as she couldn't tolerate the innocence of Lucy
The next day Jude got on to the waiting carriage and he was ready to depart from home
FLARE
Remember the lace!
I simply must have it!
KAGURA
And my parasol!
For my complexion!
That means skin, if you don't know!
Lucy holding on to her father's hand until his hand slipped off her due to carriage he was on taking him far from reach
LUCY
Bye!
JUDE
Bye, Lucy!
LUCY
I love you!
JUDE
I love you, too!
LUCY
Bye!
Lucy came into her house with tears in her eyes.
MINERVA
Lucy, dear.
Now, now. Mustn't blub.
She took out her scarf and used it to wipe her tears
LUCY
Yes, Stepmother.
MINERVA
You needn't call me that.
"Madam" will do.
There isn't room for me
and all of your clothes!
Well, then make yourself smaller!
KAGURA and FLARE
have always shared a room.
Such dear, affectionate girls
I'm sure your father spoke to you
of your behavior in the forest.
Kagura and flare argues arrogantly.
MINERVA
I think they're finding their sleeping quarters rather confining.
LUCY
Well my room is the biggest besides my yours and fathers . Perhaps I'd like to share it .
MINERVA
What a wonderful idea. What a good girl you are.
LUCY
Well I can stay
MINERVA
The so
LUCY
The attic
MINERVA
Only temporarily when I have all the other rooms nice and some airy gonna be away from all the fuss and even more comb if you kept all this bric and brac. I'm there with you keep you amused.
Lucy goes into the attic and fixes some furniture. Lucy was still in. content and stayed in the old room.
LUCY
No troubles
No sisters
KAGURA and FLARE
What did she say
I don't know
She's mad
They leave the outside of the attic room , laughing and arguing again.
As day goes by
Lucy does all the housechores and goes for farm work.
At one afternoon, after Lucy had her supper , flare was doing her music lessons and kagura was trying to draw her mother Minerva . Flare was singing in rather harsh voice and when Minerva gestured to see her portrait only to see a somewhat figure of her . Minerva put a masked smile. Lucy was frowning at flare's singing and Minerva noticed that . She slightly pushed her plate to fall on the floor and yelled a little in act of panic. Lucy comes and takes the plate politely. Lucifer noticed Lucy's nice friends and chased them. The mice ran and hid under a wardrobe escaping the attack . Lucy saw her mice being safe , went to the kitchen to keep they tray , plates and cups on cupboards.
A few weeks later, The driver comes back in an empty was anticipating for his father to come home . At dusk the driver knocks the door of her house. She opens it and hoping to see her father instead she saw the driver holding a dry leaves stick in his hand that his father promised to give her when he returns.
DRIVER
it's your father.
He couldn't make it
Lucy almost broke to sadness to hear her father's no more . Minerva ,Kagura and Flare heard everything.
KAGURA
but what about my cosmetics
FLARE
And my paracol
MINERVA
oh girls this isn't the time for such are will we live ?
Lucy hears their words but couldn't say anything
The driver gives her the leaves and then takes off her home .
Lucy closes the door , with the leaf in her hand as her father's last sign , she broke down into tears , feeling lonely and down.
After mournful days passby
her step mother make all the helper of her house leave. Lucy hugs each of them before they take their leave.
And then her step mother began to be cruel on Lucy , by making her work like a servant and putting all the domestic works on her .
One night the attic was too .
Lucy took an old pillow and put it beside the attic warm chimney.
She put her head on the pillow and slept in contentment.
The next morning Lucy woke up with sound of . multiple bells ringing. Her face covered with coals coming off the chimney and she heard her step mother and sisters demanding for breakfast. Lucy woke up , washed her hands, prepared foods as quick as possible and went to the dinner room to fix table
MINERVA
I thought breakfast was ready
LUCY
It is madam. I'm just mending up the fire in chimney
MINERVA
Yawning
Future can't we not be called until the work is done
LUCY
As you wish
Lucy brings the trolley of breakfast meal
MINERVA
Lucy what's that on your face
LUCY
Madam ?
FLARE
It's ash from the fireplace
MINERVA
Do clean yourself up
KAGURA
We got cinders in our tea
FLARE
I've got a new name for her
Cinder r
KAGURA
I'm so dirty. Oh oh oh dirty Ella Lucy
FLARE
Cinderella. That's what we'll call you.
Minerva was laughing along with them
MINERVA
Oh girls your too clever
Lucy puts fourth plate on tables
MINERVA
Whose this for ? Is there someone we've forgotten
LUCY
Oh it's my place
MINERVA
Oh it seems you too much to expect to prepare breakfast serve it and still sit with us.
Wouldn't you prefer to eat when all the work is done Ella . Or should I say Cinderella.
Lucy was sad and broken in that moment that new people controlled in her house .
Lucy goes back to her kitchen and about to keep her plates on the table and it fell on the ground. Lucy broke down in tears while putting up the plates.
Cinderella names have power like magic spells. And all of a sudden it seemed to her , that her step mother and step sisters had indeed transformed her into a creature of ash and toil .
Lucy runs to the farm house, takes her horse to ride and rides away from her home. How can she call it home if new people territories the place. She rides her horse fast and turns the house to go where her eye's see.
While riding away she nearly comes to a stag and the stag was shivering, fearing for it's own life.
She looks to stags eyes and then hears some forest people who were going after it
LUCY
Run ! Quickly my friend they'll catch you ! Go!
The stag listens and runs forward. Lucy's horse rides forward.
LUCY
Easy
Perhaps it was just as well that her step sisters were cruel
For she had not run to the forest , she might have never met the prince.
LUCY
Easy boy . Whoa slow down
Easy
In the forest, prince Leo was riding on his horse along with fellow soldier's for a hunt. Then Leo hears a female voice and turns to see a blond woman passing by. She was struggling to keep her horse from riding away.
Leo rode his horse to her and came for her help.
LEO
Miss?
Miss are you alright?
LUCY
It's fine . I'm alright . Thank you.
Leo rides along with her while holding the neck of his horse in order for it to slow down
LUCY
It's fine
Leo does his best to stop the horse until it slows down.
Bewildered at the horse being rather wild , Leo looks up to the blond in concern
Leo
Are you alright?
Lucy
I'm alright. But you've nearly frightened the life out of him
Leo
Who?
Lucy
The stag ! What's he ever done to you that you should chase him about
Leo laughs at her silly accusation.
Leo
I must confess I've never met him before. Is he a friend of yours
LUCY
An acuintance. We've met just now. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine . And I just felt he had a great deal left to do with his life. That's all
LEO
Miss what do they call you
LUCY
Never mind what they call me
LEO
You shouldn't be deep in this Forest alone
LUCY
I'm not alone . I'm with you, mister. What do they call you?
Leo laughs at her being so unaware about him
LEO
You don't know who I am
That is , they call me kit or my father does when he's in a good mood.
Leo and Lucy laugh's at each other
LUCY
And where do you live mister kit?
LEO
At the palace, my father is teaching me his trades
LUCY
You're an apprentice.
LEO
That of a sort
LUCY
That's very fine. Do they treat you well.
LEO
Oh better than I deserve most likely. And you ?
LUCY
They treat me as well as they're able
LEO
I'm sorry
LUCY
It's not your doing
LEO
Nor yours either on all that
LUCY
It's not so very bad . Others have it worse, I'm sure. We must simply have courage and be kind.
Mustn't we?
LEO
Your right that's exactly how I feel.
They were smiling at each other until they hear a sound of siren
LUCY
Please don't let them hurt him
LEO
But we're hunting you see it so it's done
LUCY
Just because it's what done , doesn't mean it's what should be done .
LEO
Right again
LUCY
Then you'll leave him alone won't you?
Leo was completely mesmerized at the beauty and kindness of Lucy
LEO
Yes, I will.
LUCY
Thank you very much mister kit
From a little distance, royal captain Scorpio noticed the prince with a Lady
SCORPIO
Ah there you are.
I've been looking for you your high...
LEO
It's kit kit kit . I'm kit . I'm on my way.
SCORPIO
Well we'd better get a move on
Mister kit
Scorpio laugh's at the prince's silly self proclaimed name.
LEO
As I've said on my way
Leo takes his horse behind to the direction where royal soldiers and captain are waiting for him.
His eyes unbreakable from her.
LEO
I hope to see you again miss
LUCY
And I you
Leo smiles with passion for the woman in front of him. With one last gaze , he rides off to his team , at times looking behind and taking a glimpse of her .
Lucy watches him go , smiles in joy , bites her lip and rides back to her home, at times looking behind and taking glimpse of the prince until they went off to their own ways .
Back in the royal palace
SCORPIO
Is it any business of yours,
Grand duke arrives to them
LEO
Grand Duke Capricorn?
CAPRICORN
Your business is my business,
Your Royal Highness.
It will not do to let the stag go free.
LEO
Just because it's what's done
doesn't mean it's what should be done.
Or something like that.
KING
Master Reedus,
master of the paintbrush,
patiently awaits.
Make him look marriageable,
Master Reedus.
We must attract a suitable bride,
even if he won't listen to a word I say.
LEO
I shall endeavor to please,
REEDUS
Your Majesty.
But I can't work miracles.
KING
A splendid canvas, Master Reedus.
REEDUS
Thank you.
As if he knows anything about art.
LEO
So, these portraits
will really be sent abroad?
KING
To induce the high and mighty
to attend this ball you insist upon.
Which is a tradition. Which is beloved.
At which you will choose a bride.
REEDUS
Fascinating.
LEO
If I must marry, could I not wed, say,
a good, honest country girl?
CAPRICORN
How many divisions will this
"good, honest country girl" provide us?
How will she make
the kingdom stronger?
CAPRICORN
We are a small kingdom amongst
great states, Your Royal Highness.
And it's a dangerous world.
Listen, boy.
CAPRICORN
- Taking you up, Master Reedus.
REEDUS
- Good.
KING
I want to see you and the kingdom safe.
LEO
All right, Father,
on one condition.
Let the invitations go to everyone,
not just the nobility.
The wars have brought sorrow on us all.
What do you think?
Would that please the people?
GRAND DUKE
It's beyond my wit, Your Majesty.
REEDUS
But I wouldn't mind a bit of a jolly.
I think we might have made a bargain.
A ball for the people,
and a princess for the prince.
Sounds like a step in the right direction,
if you ask...
KING
We didn't ask you.
REEDUS
I'm so sorry.
Naughty paint, naughty brush.
Down, please, Samson.
Haven't even got a cushion.
Right, down, down. Not that...
Reedus seat fall on the ground and now laying on the floor with his paint brush held up. The others stare at the painter.
REEDUS
Oi! I'm on the ground.
I am literally on the ground. Sorry.
Actually this is
a very good angle for you.
Great nostrils.
Could I have a longer brush?
In the grocery shopping place for commoners
MIRA
You don't look well, miss.
Not at all.
Why do you stay there,
when they treat you so?
LUCY
Because I made my mother
and father a promise
to cherish the place we were so happy.
They loved our house
and now that they're gone,
I love it for them.
It's my home.
Mira comforts Lucy by holding her arms to praise her courage. Then a royal decree is held to the people
HOLOGRAM
Hear ye! Hear ye!
Quiet!
"Know,
"on this day, two weeks hence,
"there shall be held, at the palace,
"a Royal Ball.
"At said ball,
"in accordance with ancient custom,
"the prince, Leo shall choose a bride.
"Furthermore,
"at the behest of the prince,
"it is hereby declared
that every maiden in the kingdom,
"be she noble or commoner,
"is invited to attend.
"Such is the command
of our most noble king."
Excuse me, madam.
Lucy was enormously excited
to see kit , the apprentice.
She arrived in her home and declared the news to her step mother and her stepsisters who
were mildly intrigued
KAGURA
by the notion of meeting the prince.
I shall trick him into loving me.
FLARE
See if I don't!
This is the most hugest news!
MINERVA
Calm yourselves.
Now listen to me.
One of you must win
the heart of the prince.
Do that, and we can unwind the debt
in which we were ensnared
when we came to this backwater
KAGURA
I, a princess?
FLARE
Or rather, I,
a princess?
MINERVA
Having delivered your news,
why are you still here?
You must return to town right away
and tell that seamstress
to run us up three fine ball gowns.
LUCY
Three?
That's very thoughtful of you.
MINERVA
What do you mean?
LUCY
To think of me.
MINERVA
Think of you ?
KAGURA
Mummy, she believes
the other dress is for her.
Poor, slow, little Cinders.
MINERVA
How embarrassing.
You're too ambitious for your own good.
LUCY
No. I only want to see my friend.
MINERVA
Let me be very clear.
One gown for Kagura,
one for Flare,
and one for me!
Minerva says something in foreign language and her daughters didn't understand a thing
KAGURA
She doesn't know what that means.
Lucy speaks in fluent Italian in answer of her .
MINERVA
Good. Right. That's settled then.
Now go!
Every girl in the kingdom
will be chasing the prince.
You must get there first before
the seamstress is drowning in work!
FLARE
Tell me what she said, KAGURA.
KAGURA
I speak French, not Italian!
Back in the grand celestial palace,
Leo was doing his sword fight practice with Scorpio as well as other soldiers were in the sword fight practice with each other.
Leo was about to defeat his opponent but then his mind went to her beautiful girl Lucy . Scorpio took the chance and defeated him in sword fight as he put his sword beside his neck and giving his victorious gesture to him as he pulled the sword off his side.
SCORPIO
Wake up, Your Royal Highness.
You're in a daze.
LEO
I'm sorry.
SCORPIO
You've been off since the hunt.
LEO
It's that wonderful girl.
I can't stop thinking about her.
SCORPIO
But there are plenty of girls.
LEO
But her spirit, her goodness...
SCORPIO
You don't suppose
she has a sister, do you?
LEO
I don't know.
I don't know anything about her
SCORPIO
Perhaps your mystery girl
may come to the ball.
That is why you threw
the doors open, is it not?
LEO
Captain.
It was for the benefit of the people.
SCORPIO
Of course. How shallow of me.
And if she comes, then what?
Then you will tell her you're a prince.
And a prince may take
whichever bride he wishes.
LEO
- Ha!
SCORPIO
- Ha?
LEO
Yes, "ha."
You know my father
and the Grand Duke
will only have me marry a princess.
SCORPIO
Well, if this girl from the forest
is as charming as you say,
they may change their minds.
The day of the ball arrived
and the entire kingdom
held its breath in anticipation.
KAGURA
You want me to be your queen?
Who? Me?
Lucy was fixing and tying flare's tight white dress
FLARE
Tighter.
Tighter!
Tighter.
That's it!
KAGURA
A vision, sister.
FLARE
Likewise.
KAGURA
We must compete for the prince's hand.
But let it not mean we harbor
dark thoughts against each other.
FLARE
Of course not, dear sister.
I wouldn't dream of poisoning you
before we leave for the ball.
Nor I of pushing you from
a moving carriage on the way there.
KAGURA
Or I of dashing your brains out
on the palace steps as we arrive.
We are sisters, after all.
And blood is so much thicker
than water.
We shall let the prince decide.
FLARE
What will he be like, I wonder?
KAGURA
What does it matter what he's like?
He's rich beyond reason.
LUCY
Wouldn't you like to know
a bit about him before you marry him?
KAGURA
Certainly not. It might change my mind.
I bet you have never
ever spoken to a man.
Have you, moon-face?
LUCY
I have, once.
To a gentleman.
FLARE
Some menial, no doubt.
Some 'prentice.
LUCY
He was an apprentice, yes.
KAGURA
All men are fools,
that's what Mama says.
The sooner you learn that, the better.
The first dance, milady?
Prince Charming, you're so naughty!
Her sisters were doing pretty awkward dance. Then kagura grabs a little crown and puts it on her head
FLARE
- I want to try it.
KAGURA
- No, I'm wearing it.
FLARE
No! No!
The two sisters broke into fight while pulling the crown and the crown broke in two piece as the sisters stomped aside from each other. And they began to fight again , destroying their dress and accessories.
Not for the first time,
Lucy actually felt pity
for these two schemers,
who could be every bit as ugly within
as they were fair without.
KAGURA
My prince!
He will love me!
FLARE
But I will be his queen!
If her step mother would not have a fourth dress made,it seemed to Lucy that there was no reason why she would not try to run it up herself.
And besides, she did have a little help.
In the evening of royal ball invitation
In Lucy's house, Minerva walks in to greet her well dressed and loud daughters kagura and flare
MINERVA
My dear girls.
To see you like this,
it makes me believe
one of you might just snare the prince.
And to think
I have two horses in the race!
I daresay no one in the kingdom
will outshine my daughters.
Flare looks up at Lucy wearing a white pink gown with blue bead necklace
FLARE
Lucy
Minerva looks behind to see Lucy in a simple dress
LUCY
It cost you nothing.
It was my mother's old dress, you see.
And I took it up myself..
KAGURA
Cinderella Lucy at the ball!
No one wants a servant for a bride.
MINERVA
After all I've done...
LUCY
I don't want to ruin anything.
I don't even want to meet the prince.
MINERVA
And you won't, because
there's no question of your going.
LUCY
But, all of the maidens
of the land are invited,
by order of the king.
MINERVA
It is the king I am thinking of.
It would be an insult
to the royal personage
to take you to the palace
dressed in these old rags.
LUCY
Rags?
This was my mother's.
MINERVA
I'm sorry to have to tell you
but your mother's taste
was questionable.
This thing is so old-fashioned
it's practically falling to pieces.
Minerva grabs her white fluffy sleeves and tears it apart.
MINERVA
The shoulder's frayed.
Kagura grabs her front pink-white scarf and tears it apart
KAGURA
- It's falling to bits.
Flare grabs the thin cloth of her skirt
FLARE
- And this!
It's a ridiculous, old-fashioned joke!
Lucy was in tears to see her mended dress in a damaged state
LUCY
How could you...?
MINERVA
How could I otherwise?
I will not have anyone
associate my daughters with you.
It would ruin their prospects
to be seen arriving
with a ragged servant girl.
Because that is what you are.
And that is what you will always be.
Now mark my words.
You shall not go to the ball!
Minerva turn's to her daughters and the three women went into carriage.
MINERVA
Go on, get going!
Lucy broke in tears to watch them leave without her . As they leave Lucy runs to her garden and collapse to the side of the brick railings of the place. She looked to the sky full of stars and talked to her mother who would always watch her from heavens.
LUCY
I'm sorry, Mother.
I'm sorry.
I said I'd have courage, but I don't.
Not anymore.
I don't believe anymore.
Lucy was crying on the brick railings. A woman in odd clothes noticed her .
WOMAN
Excuse me.
Can you help me, miss?
Just a little crust of bread,
or better, a cup of milk?
Lucy was shocked to see an old woman in odd clothes. Her head covered with an odd clothes hood and she was holding a huge odd stick
LUCY
Yes.
Yes, yes, yes.
I think I can find something for you.
WOMAN
Why are you crying?
LUCY
It's nothing.
WOMAN
Nothing?
Nothing.
What is a bowl of milk? Nothing.
But kindness makes it everything.
Now, I don't mean to hurry you,
but you really haven't got long, Lucy.
LUCY
How do you know me?
Who are you?
WOMAN
Who am I?
I should think
you'd have worked that one out.
I'm your hairy dogfather.
I mean, fairy godmother!
The fairy godmother gave her a creepy smile. Lucy broke into a tearful laughter.
LUCY
You can't be.
Fairy Godmother
Why not?
LUCY
They don't exist.
They're just made up for children.
LUCY
Didn't your own mother layla
believe in them?
Don't say no, because I heard her.
LUCY
You heard her?
Fairy god mother stood up to her feet with the help of the stick , walked to the grass and then flew her stick up while giving a spell
Fiddle-faddle, fiddle-faddle.
She transformed into a beautiful woman who has dark blonde hair and in a sparkling gown
Fairy Godmother
Right! First things first.
Let me slip into something
more comfortable.
That's better.
Now, where was I?
Lucy was shocked to see the sparkling transformation of the woman who called herself fairy godmother
LUCY
How did you...
Fairy Godmother
Yes. Let's see.
What we need is something
that sort of says, "coach."
That trough?
LUCY
Doesn't really say "coach."
Fairy Godmother
No, no, I'm liking fruit and veg.
Do you grow watermelons?
LUCY
No.
Fairy Godmother
Cantaloupe?
LUCY
I don't even know what that is.
MINERVA
Artichoke?
Kumquat?
Beef tomato?
LUCY
We do have pumpkins.
Fairy Godmother
Pumpkins?
This will be a first for me.
Always interesting.
They went into a house of pumpkin and the Fairy godmother picked a huge pumpkin
Fairy Godmother
I don't usually work with squashes.
Too mushy.
Let me see. That'll do. Yes. Knife?
LUCY
- There you are.
Fairy godmother
- Thank you, darling.
Hello, my strangely orange
vegetable friend.
A quick snip for you.
Lovely!
Heavy pumpkin!
Look out, mices!
Well. Never mind.
Let's do it here.
LUCY
Do what here?
Fairy godmother
Turn the pumpkin into a carriage.
You're making me nervous, actually.
LUCY
- Shall I shut my eyes?
Fairy godmother
- It might be better.
Lucy shut her eyes with her hands in a deep breath
Fairy Godmother
For heaven's sake. Let's just go for it.
The pumpkin starts to move in sparkle and grow into golden spark
Fairy godmother
Well, something's definitely happening.
You see, the trick is...
Actually, I've forgotten what the trick is.
But the pumpkin was getting bigger at each golden spark
Fairy Godmother
I just thought, if it...
If it does get much bigger...
The pumpkin almost pressed them to the wall of the house
LUCY
Yes?
Fairy godmother
Hang on.
LUCY
Is that what you meant to do?
Fairy Godmother
Do you think that's what I meant to do?Aaaa
Fairy Godmother
Run! Run, darling!
Take cover!
They hid beside a bush of animals stark foods . The pumpkin burst off the house, blasted in a golden light and the pumpkin turned into grand well designed and luxurious carriage
Fairy godmother
There! One carriage.
Lucy was surprised to see the new carriage
LUCY
You really are my fairy godmother.
Fairy Godmother
Of course.
I don't go about transforming
pumpkins for just anybody.
Now, where are those mice?
LUCY
- Mice?
Fairy Godmother
- Yes.
Mice, mice, mice.
There they are.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
The mices transformed into four fine white horse . One horse still had the ear of a mouse
Fairy Godmother
Four white chargers.
Lucy went up to her transformed mice friends and caressed one of it's neck with her hand
LUCY
Gus-Gus, how fine you look!
But how did you...
Fairy Godmother
Now, where are we?
Got carriage, horses... Footmen!
LUCY
Footmen?
She went to the nearby lizards that were roaming on a fountain
Fairy godmother
Hello, lovely Mr. Lizard.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
The lizards transformed into 2 green scaly human like figure wearing royal type dresses
FOOTMEN
Hello!
You called?
Fairy Godmother
Now, I need that coachman.
LUCY
Coachman?
Fairy Godmother
Did I say "coachman"? I meant "goose."
She put her spell on the nearby quaking goose.
COACHMEN
I can't drive. I'm a goose.
Lucy laughed and was pretty impressed at the amazing magic given by Fairy godmother
Fairy Godmother chased the transformed people into the carriage
Fairy Godmother
Now, shoo!
Everyone into place, no time to be lost!
Come on!
Lucy ran to her fairy Godmother
LUCY
Fairy Godmother!
Fairy Godmother
Yes, what?
LUCY
My dress.
I can't go in this dress.
- Can you mend it?
Fairy Godmother
- Mend it?
No, no. I'll turn it into something new.
LUCY
No, please don't.
This was my mother's.
And I'd like to wear it
when I go to the palace.
It's almost like taking her with me.
The fairy godmothers mind softens at the kindness of the young girl
Fairy Godmother
I understand.
But she wouldn't mind
if I gee it up a bit?
Wouldn't mind a nice blue?
LUCY
No.
Fairy godmother gently swayed her magic stick and blue butterflies was going to her , circling her dress and she twirled slowly with the motion of magic . Lucy danced with the motion gracefully and then her dress transformed into a magnificent royal blue dress , the gown was celestial and unlike anything from the world. Lucy twirled as butterflies was roaming on her until they fixed their place on her chest scarf and then becoming a crystal one on her beautiful celestial blue dress
Fairy Godmother
There.
Lucy
It's beautiful.
She'd love it.
Fairy Godmother
Now, come on. Off you go. Quick!
COACHMEN
You'll be late!
I'm very new at this!
Oh, boy.
Fairy Godmother
Stop that blooming coach!
Fairy godmother escorted Lucy to her carriage.
LUCY
Thank you.
Fairy godmother
Just a moment!
She noticed her simple shoe
Fairy Godmother
Are those the best you have?
LUCY
It's all right. No one will see them.
Fairy Godmother
No, they'll ruin the whole look.
Quick, quick.
Take them off. Really quite hideous.
Lucy took of her shoes as she demanded politely.
Fairy Godmother
Let's have something new for a change.
I'm rather good at shoes.
She put a spell and her foot was covered by diamond glass slipper with butterfly placing at the front of her shoes
Lucy looked down to her new shoes from the ground.
LUCY
But...
They're made of glass?
Fairy Godmother
Yes.
And you'll find
they're really comfortable.
Lucy, you really must go now.
Lucy was about to get into the carriage but stopped at a certain thought
LUCY
Fairy Godmother?
Fairy Godmother
What is it?
LUCY
My stepmother and the girls?
Fairy Godmother
Don't worry.
I'll make sure they don't recognize you.
LUCY
Now, off you go.
For you shall go to the ball.
Lucy went into the carriage. As she sat on the soft cushion seat , she marvelled at the beauty of the celestial golden carriage.
Fairy Godmother
In you get. So lovely.
Do stop wittering on.
She cracked her neck for her neck muscle to relax. But she remembered the limit of her magic and ran to Lucy in order to aware her
Fairy Godmother
Lucy!
I almost forgot.
Remember, the magic
will only last so long.
With the last echo of the last bell,
at the last stroke of midnight,
the spell will be broken
and all will return to what it was before.
LUCY
Midnight?
Fairy Godmother
Midnight.
LUCY
That's more than enough time.
Fairy Godmother
- Off you go then.
LUCY
- Thank you.
Thank you.
Fairy God mother put a spell for the the coach to go at the right direction.
Fairy Godmother
Goosey, go!
Fairy god mother waved her hands to the beautiful well hearted girl who bid her farewell
LUCY
Goodbye!
HOLOGRAM
Chandeliers, aloft!
Princess Erza of Fujian.
Princess Yukino of the Seljuqs.
Your Highness!
Princess Chelina Hisui of Zaragosa!
Princess Aquarius of Shona!
Princess Levy
of the Chrysanthemum Throne!
Lady Minerva and her daughters.
The Lady Kagura and her daughters.
I'm Flare.
And I'm Kagura.
KAGURA
- People will want to know.
. FLARE
- I'm the clever one.
KAGURA
I'm very beautiful.
The very clever Miss Flare,
and the very beautiful Kagura.
Do come on!
The Lord Veneering.
KING
Who are you looking for?
LEO
No one.
KING
It's that girl in the forest, isn't it?
That's why you were so generous
with the invitations.
LEO
Father, it was for the people.
KING
I know you love the people, Kit.
But I also know
that your head's been turned.
But you've only met her once,
in the forest.
LEO
And you would have me
marry someone I met once, tonight.
LEO
A princess.
KING
It's a princess or nothing.
Hold the doors! One more coming in.
May I present Her Royal Highness,
the Princess Chelina Hisui of Zaragosa.
HISUI
You are as handsome as your picture.
And your little kingdom is enchanting.
LEO
I hope the princess will not find
our "little kingdom" too confining.
The king laughed at his sons witty joke .
Lucy arrived at the celestial palace.
Footman escorted her out from the carriage
FOOTMAN
Miss Lucy.
LUCY
Thank you.
I'm frightened, Mr. Lizard.
I'm only a girl, not a princess.
FOOTMEN
And I'm only a lizard, not a footman.
They talked while gazing at the palace
FOOTMEN
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Lucy walked to the palace stairs
HOLOGRAM
Your Majesty, Your Royal Highness,
My Lords, ladies and gentlemen,
distinguished visitors
and people of our land,
the prince shall now choose his partner
for the first dance.
Let our ball commence!
Lucy walked to main door of royal dance hall and knocked it.
The palace guards opened the door for her . And she entered the door , her beauty and elegance stealing attention of all the people in there.
Lucy took a deep breath walked forward . Before taking step , she kneeled down in respect and gratitude and then stood up with a smile. She walked down to grand stairs and the people was staring at her coming towards them . Leo was so happy to see the girl who he met in the forest.
In a hurry to meet up with the blonde beauty.
Leo bowed to princess Hisui in respect and left.
LEO
Excuse me.
CAPRICORN
A thousand apologies,
Your Royal Highness.
I don't know what happened.
Leo walked towards Lucy while gazing at her beauty and elegance.
His lioness with blond hair and starry brown eyes was wearing a celestial blue dress and remembering her passion and bravery made him admire her even 's eye was searching for an orange haired man until she her eyes met with his . They stepped towards each other . Their gaze strong at each other.
LUCY
Mr. Kit.
LEO
It's you,
isn't it?
LUCY
Just so.
LEO
Your Highness...
If I may,
that is,
it would give me the greatest pleasure,
if you would do me the honor
of letting me lead you through this...
the first...
LUCY
Dance?
LEO
Yes, dance.
That's it.
Leo took courage and put his hand on her waist bringing her close to him
LUCY
They're all looking at you.
LEO
Believe me, they're all looking at you.
Leo and Lucy danced gracefully.
Leo guiding her to follow his steps and Lucy gracefully danced along with him . At one point he picked her up with hands and twirled that her gown roamed like a magic blue wing waved on.
They danced while chocolate brown eyes gazed upon his hazel-green and Lucy waltz in a graceful and elegance. It was like prince found his princess in a magical way . Lucy was enjoying every moment with her partner kit .
HISUI
Who is she?
CAPRICORN
I have no idea.
KAGURA
Who's that, Mama?
MINERVA
I'm not exactly sure,
but this does not bode well.
KAGURA
That's a lovely dress she's got on.
FLARE
- And how pretty she is.
MINERVA
- Concentrate!
You must turn the prince's head,
you fools! Now, get out there!
FLARE
But no one's asked us to dance.
MINERVA
Gentlemen.
May I present my daughters,
- kagura, flare.
MAN 1
- Mademoiselle.
MINERVA
Off you go!
The people danced in an arranged waltz
MINERVA
Smile.
During the dance,Leo took Lucy's
with his and they escaped the dance ceremony
LEO
Come with me.
Minerva watched them go and then pointed her girls to the prince
MINERVA
Over there.
Smile.
Leo and Lucy escaped the grand dance hall
LUCY
So, you're the prince!
LEO
Not "the prince," exactly.
There are plenty of princes in the world.
I'm only a prince.
LUCY
But your name's not really Kit.
Certainly it is,
and my father still calls me that,
when he's especially un-peeved at me.
LUCY
But you're no apprentice.
LEO
I am. An apprentice monarch.
Still learning my trade.
LUCY
Oh, gosh!
Look, please forgive me.
I thought you might treat me
differently if you knew.
I mistook you
LEO
for a good, honest country girl,
and now I see you didn't want
to overawe a plain soldier.
Little chance of that.
LEO
No more surprises?
LUCY
No more surprises.
They shaked hand in agreement.
Lucy's eyes then fell on portrait
LUCY
Is that you?
LEO
I hate myself in paintings. Don't you?
LUCY
No one's ever painted my portrait.
LEO
No? Well, they should.
Leo and Lucy talked to each while walking together in the royal garden
DUKE CAPRICORN
Who is she?
HOLOGRAM
She gave no name, Your Grace.
CAPRICORN
You didn't ask?
HOLOGRAM
I was out of breath, Your Grace,
on account of introducing
Princess Juvia
of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll...
- Shut up, will you?
- "Shut up." Absolutely.
I don't believe this!
No! Not her!
LUCY
Won't they miss you at the ball?
LEO
Maybe.
But let's not go back just yet.
LUCY
What's wrong?
LEO
When I go back,
they will try to pair me off
with a lady of their choosing.
I'm expected to marry for advantage.
LUCY
Well, whose advantage?
LEO
That is a good question.
Well, surely you have a right
to your own heart.
And I must weigh that
against the king's wishes.
He's a wise ruler and a loving father.
LUCY
Well, perhaps he'll change his mind.
LEO
I fear he hasn't much time to do so.
LUCY
Oh I'm sorry.
{People are saying she's a princess.
Our prince seems quite taken with her.
She went straight for him.
You have to appreciate her efficiency.
But surely, if she is a princess,
this may be good.
I've already promised him in marriage,
to the Princess Chelina .
But...
Forgive me, Your Grace.
I did not mean to intrude.
No, it's you who have
to forgive me, madam.
Your secret is safe with me.
As the prince Leo and Lucy walk. Leo takes her to the secret garden where he's has a memory of his childhood with his mother. He kept this place sacred for mother. Now he takes the owner of his heart Lucy to the garden
LEO
I've never shown this place to anyone.
LUCY
A secret garden.
I love it!
The garden was filled with flowers and between the garden was a silver hammock chair. Both goes near the chair . Lucy was dazzled to see the garden and it's decorations. Leo requests her to sit on the hammock chair.
LEO
Please.
LUCY
No, I shouldn't.
LEO
You should.
LUCY
- I shouldn't.
LEO
- You should.
LUCY
I will.
LEO
May I?
LUCY
Please.
Lucy was swinging on their as Leo pushed . Her shoe fell from her feet while she was enjoying her little ride
LEO
It's made of glass.
LUCY
And why not?
LEO
Allow me.
LUCY
Thank you.
LEO
There.
There.
He looked up to her . Her brown eyes meeting with his green eyes.
LEO
Won't you tell me who you really are?
If I do, I think
everything might be different.
I don't understand.
Can you at least tell me your name?
LUCY
My name is...
And the clock struck to one minute before and Lucy saw the clock.
LUCY
I have to leave.
It's hard to explain.
Lizards and pumpkins, and things.
Lucy ran from the place . .
LEO
Wait!
Where are you going?
LUCY
You've been awfully nice.
Thank you for a wonderful evening.
I've loved it.
Every second!
Leo was first puzzled but then he got interested at the last thing she said and so he followed her
LEO
"Lizards and pumpkins."
Lucy ran from the royal garden, to portrait hall, the straight into the dance hall . She was trying her best to get royal gate and leave. She bumped on some people while they were dancing
LUCY
Excuse me.
Sorry! Terribly sorry.
ROYAL GUESTS
My goodness!
My prince!
You've got the wrong one!
He needs her name!
I know he needs her name.
HOLOGRAM
Her name, you ninny. Get her name!
That really hurt!
As she went up to stairs and ran , she accidentally bumped on the KING
LUCY
Your Majesty.
KING
Young lady.
LUCY
I am so sorry.
KING
Think nothing of it, my dear.
LUCY
I wanted to say, Your Majesty,
your son Kit
is the most lovely person I ever met.
So good and brave.
I hope you know
how much he loves you.
Excuse me!
King was left speechless to the praise of his son and reminding the love of his son for him .
Leo followed her by running towards her
LEO
Wait!
Wait!
Where are you going?
LUCY
Hurry, hurry!
LEO
Come back!
Lucy ran through the stairs when all of sudden one of her glass slipper fell from her feet and landed on the stairs. She looked back , about to take her shoe . But the prince was getting close so she took out the other shoe she wore and ran faster
LUCY
Hurry!
Hurry, please, Mr. Goose!
LEO
Wait!
Watch out!
Scorpio and Capricorn was following him
LEO
Captain, my horse.
CAPRICORN
No !
This may be some intrigue
to lure you from the palace.
Your father needs you here.
LEO
Captain!
I was having a fine old time.
SCORPIO
You had to go and choose that one,
didn't you?
LEO
Yes, I did.
Meanwhile, Lucy was riding in her carriage and telling the goose coachmen to run faster.
LUCY
Hurry, Mr. Goose!
COACHMEN
Come on!
Hee-ya!
LUCY
Be careful, Mr. Goose!
Oh, my goodness!
PALACE GUARDS
You there! Stop in the name of the king!
Such bad timing.
Halt there!
the palace guards chase after her and all she could do to tell her carriage coachmen to drive faster so that she doesn't get coachmen drives fast as he could. As they reach in the colony of her city.
The footmen closes the main door by pushing the gate metal handle with its tail and the door falls on the ground at the right time before the palace guards along with Grand Duke Capricorn could come in the city to chase.
CAPRICORN
I know what to do!
Yes!
Get this thing open!
Meanwhile Lucys carriage and it's drivers were turning back to their normal self . Coachmen was already going back as goose
COACHMEN
Oh, dear!
Lucy saw her carriage turn into orange pumpkin and some leaves around it
LUCY
No, no, no.
I'm sorry.
And in the road, the drivers goes back to their normal self, the pumpkin bursts off throwing Lucy on the ground and all her mice, lizard and one duckling friend goes to her.
Lucy stands up and fixex her old torn dress. Then rain start's to fall . Lucy enjoyed the rain for a while and then saw her mice friends having trouble to walk on the path. She kneeled down and gave the shelter in her glass slipper.
LUCY
You'll find it's very comfortable.
Lucy laughs and remembers the beautiful moment between her and her prince Leo. She was walking in daze until she heard sound of a carriage. She realized that it was her step mother and sisters . So she runs quickly to her house before they caught her outside with the glass slipper in her hand . She goes to kitchen and hides the glass slipper in dry chimney and hiding it under powder coals.
Minerva, Kagura and Flare arguing
MINERVA
Do shut up!
(Lucy's Step Mother And Sisters )
Cinderella!
Cinderella! We'll have to wake her up.
Cinderella!
Wake up, lazy bones!
KAGURA and FLARE
Tea and a plate of biscuits.
LUCY
Welcome back!
KAGURA
- You look cheerful!
FLARE
- And wet!
LUCY
I took a walk in the rain
to cheer myself up.
KAGURA
Typical.
Tea.
KAGURA and FLARE
We did not communicate
through mere words.
Our souls met.
Precisely.
My soul and the prince's soul.
Your soul was over
by the banquet tables.
You didn't see him dance with me.
Dance with you?
He didn't even speak to you.
It was not our fault, Mother.
It was that girl.
The mystery princess.
LUCY
Mystery princess?
MINERVA
My, what a charming notion.
She was no princess.
She was a preening interloper
who made a spectacle of herself.
A vulgar, young hussy
marched into the ball,
unaccompanied, if you will,
and to the horror of everyone,
threw herself at the prince.
And he actually danced
with the ugly thing.
LUCY
- Yes?
MINERVA
- Yes.
It was pity.
He was too polite to send her packing
in front of everyone, you see.
But not wanting to expose us
to the presumptuous wench any further,
- he took her apart.
- And told her off.
But she refused to leave
and the palace guards
chased her from the party!
I pity the prince. Such bad taste.
KAGURA and FLARE
They belong with each other.
MINERVA
Well, it's no matter, girls.
The ball was a mere diversion.
The prince is not free to marry for love.
He's promised to the
Princess Hisui of Zaragosa.
The Grand Duke told me himself.
KAGURA and FLARE
It's so very unfair.
MINERVA
Yes.
The way of the world.
After serving her step family, Lucy takes her slipper from the chimney and goes back to her attic room.
She pulls her secret wardrobe and puts the glass slipper in it carefully. Her mice friends comes to her and she smiles at them. Then she thinks about her Fairy Godmother and thanks her in her prays
Hello again.
LUCY
Thank you for your help.
It really was like a dream.
Better than a dream.
She arranged an old sofa seat for her , took her diary, sat on it comfortably and wrote everything that happened in the palace and the beautiful moment between her and Leo.
Lucy couldn't wait to write down
all that had happened,
so that she might remember
every single bit of it
just as if she were telling
her mother and father
about the palace ball
and her time with the prince.
Above all, the prince.
In the royal palace
Doctor
You've come.
LEO
Good.
Leo sits beside the bed where his father was resting. With sorrow he holds his hands and pleads him to not give up.
LEO
Father.
Don't go.
KING
I must.
You needn't be alone.
Take a bride.
A royal princess of a provincial country.
The Princess Chelina.
What if I commanded you to do so?
LEO
I love and respect you, but I will not.
KING
I believe that we need not
look outside of our borders
for strength or guidance.
What we need is right before us.
And we need only have courage
and be kind to see it.
LEO
Just so.
KING
You've become your own man.
Good.
And perhaps, in the little time left to me,
I can become the father you deserve.
KING
You must not marry for advantage.
You must marry for love.
Find that girl.
Find her.
The one they're all talking about.
The forgetful one
Both Leo and his father
- who loses her shoes.
Leo laughed along with his father while saying the last line .
LEO
- ...loses her shoes.
KING
Be cheerful, boy.
LEO
Thank you, Father.
KING
Thank you, Kit.
I love you, son.
LEO
I love you, Father.
Leo embraces his father and holding onto him like a son would to save his father.
Once the time for mourning
had passed,
a proclamation was sent out.
HOLOGRAM
Hear ye! Hear ye!
Hear ye!
Know that our new king
hereby declares his love for
the mysterious princess
as wore
glass slippers to the ball.
And requests that she present herself
at the palace,
whereupon, if she be willing,
he will forthwith marry her
with all due ceremony.
A voice calls her from at the front of attic
MINERVA
Are you looking for this?
There must be quite a story to go with it.
Won't you tell me?
No?
All right then.
I shall tell you a story.
Once upon a time,
there was a beautiful young girl
who married for love.
And she had two loving daughters.
All was well.
But, one day, her husband,
the light of her life, died.
The next time,
she married for the sake
of her daughters.
But that man, too, was taken from her.
And she was doomed to look
every day upon his beloved child.
She had hoped to marry off
one of her beautiful,
stupid daughters to the prince.
But his head was turned
by a girl with glass slippers.
And so,
I lived unhappily ever after.
My story would appear to be ended.
Now, tell me yours.
Did you steal it?
Lucy was staring and listening to Minerva as she becomes assertive in a strict manner
LUCY
No.
It was given to me.
MINERVA
Given to you?
Given to you. Nothing is ever given.
For everything, we must pay and pay.
LUCY
That's not true.
Kindness is free. Love is free.
MINERVA
Love is not free.
Now, here is how you will pay me,
if you are to have what you desire.
No one will believe you,
a dirty servant girl without a family,
if you lay claim to the prince's heart.
But with a respectable gentlewoman
to put you forward,
you will not be ignored.
When you are married,
you will make me
the head of the royal household.
Kagura and Flare
we will pair off with wealthy lords.
And I shall manage that boy.
Lucy frowned at the disrespect of her step mother bashing to the royal
LUCY
But he's not a boy.
MINERVA
And who are you?
How would you rule a kingdom?
Best to leave it to me.
That way we all get what we want.
LUCY
No.
MINERVA
No?
LUCY
I was not able to protect
my father from you,
but I will protect the prince
and the kingdom,
no matter what becomes of me.
MINERVA
Well, that is a mistake.
Minerva takes the glass slipper and breaks it on side of the door by giving a hard push.
LUCY
No!
Why?
Why are you so cruel?
I don't understand it.
I've tried to be kind to you.
MINERVA
You? Kind to me?
LUCY
Yes.
And though no one
deserves to be treated
as you have treated me.
Why do you do it?
( Raising her voice)
Why?
MINERVA
Why?
Because you are young,
and innocent, and good.
And I...
Minerva swiftly goes out of the attic and shuts the attic room.
Lucy runs to her in order to stop her from locking
LUCY
No!
Minerva locks her room door.
In the evening, she goes to royal palace, visiting the grand duke Capricorn .
CAPRICORN
May I ask where you got this?
MINERVA
From a ragged servant girl
in my household.
The mystery princess is a commoner.
You could imagine when I discovered
her subterfuge how horrified I
was.
CAPRICORN
You told no one else?
MINERVA
Not even my own daughters.
No one need ever know the truth.
CAPRICORN
You've spared the kingdom
a great deal of embarrassment.
MINERVA
And I should like to keep it that way
CAPRICORN
Are you threatening me?
MINERVA
Yes.
CAPRICORN
So what do you want?
MINERVA
I should like to be a countess.
And I require advantageous marriages
for my two daughters.
CAPRICORN
Done.
And the girl?
MINERVA
Do with her what you will.
She's nothing to me.
Back in royal palace throne hall
Where?
- Abandoned on the side of the road.
LEO
- And have you found her?
SCORPIO
- The girl?
CAPRICORN
No, she's disappeared.
There must be some reason
she vanished.
Perhaps she has been prevented
from speaking.
SCORPIO
Do not lose heart, Kit.
CAPRICORN
On the contrary,
lose heart and gain wisdom.
The people need to know
that the kingdom is secure.
That the king has a queen,
and the land may have an heir.
They want to face the future
with certainty!
Agreed! Then let us be certain.
LEO
I am king.
I say we shall seek out
the mystery princess,
even if she does not want to be found.
I have to see her again.
CAPRICORN
But if she's not found,
then for the good of the kingdom,
you must marry the Princess Chelina.
For the good of the kingdom.
Leo didn't care about the agreement to the Grand Duke . He looks at the glass slipper of the mystery girl.
LEO
Very well, agreed.
SCORPIO
But Your Highness...
LEO
But you will spare no effort.
CAPRICORN
Your Majesty, of course.
You have my word.
Next.
The slipper traveled
the length and breadth of the kingdom,
visiting every maiden
both high and low,
and every sort in between.
Meanwhile among the soldiers, Leo was in disguise of as one of them and wanted to search along with his royal ministers , to find his princess .
Oh, Lord!
You first, madam.
Well, I'll give it a go.
Right. I say. Where do you want me?
Up! Up I go.
Careful, my foot's a bit swollen.
I've been...
It's the yeast.
The Grand Duke was true to his word.
He spared no effort
to demonstrate to the prince
that the mystery princess
was not to be found.
It fits!
- It doesn't fit you.
- It does fit!
- It doesn't fit.
- It's mine!
- I am the mystery princess!
- Give back the shoe.
CAPRICORN
Take the shoe away from her!
Don't take the shoe away from me,
please, please!
Please, it's my shoe!
Make way for the slipper!
Can I try the other foot?
I don't think so.
But whatever they tried,
the magical slipper refused to fit
even the most eligible of maidens.
We found the mystery princess for ya!
What's wrong, Captain?
We haven't found the girl.
I'm disappointed for our king.
Come on, now! Don't lose heart.
There's one more house.
We must leave no stone unturned.
Back in Lucy's house
KAGURA and FLARE
- Horses!
- Horses!
Mother, it's our chance!
MINERVA
Let them in!
Minerva opens the door and greets the royal soldiers
MINERVA
Gentlemen! What a wonderful surprise.
Capricorn enters the doorway and greets Minerva.
CAPRICORN
A moment of your time, good lady.
Of course, Your Grace.
Please. This way.
Lucy did not know who was downstairs.
Nor did she care.
For surely no one had come to see her.
Jacqueline, stop it!
It shrunk.
Try again.
Enough!
LUCY
You must love me...
Though Lucy was sad,
her spirit was not broken.
She knew that the ball,
and her time with the prince,
would become
beautiful, distant memories,
like those of her father and mother,
and her golden childhood.
KAGURA
It fits me!
Bad luck, miss.
Back in the attic room, Lucy singing
LUCY
Lavender's green
dilly, dilly
Lavender's blue
You must love me
dilly, dilly
For I love you
Very well.
CAPRICORN
Our task is done, Captain.
Minerva calms kagura and flare while smirking at the grand duke.
MINERVA
But fate may yet be kind to us,
girls.
Capricorn chuckles
CAPRICORN
Indeed, madam!
In the attic, Lucy's mice friends were sad to see her that way and they run to her window seat and then opens the window hold with all their strength for it to open and air breeze in the room .
LUCY
When I am king
dilly, dilly
You shall be queen
Lavender's green
dilly, dilly
Lavender's blue
If you love me
Dilly, dilly
I will love you
Let the birds sing
dilly, dilly
And the lambs play
We shall be safe
dilly, dilly...
Both ministers about to leave was stunned to hear a beautiful voice singing and even Minerva could hear . She slowly closes her door.
SCORPIO
Do you hear that, Your Grace?
CAPRICORN
Let's be off, Captain.
SCORPIO
Just a moment.
Madam,
there is no other maiden in your house?
MINERVA
None.
SCORPIO
Then has your cat learned to sing?
CAPRICORN
There's been enough play-acting today,
Captain. Let's be off.
SCORPIO
But she's lying, Your Grace.
CAPRICORN
Nonsense! I trust the lady.
We're leaving.
PRINCE LEO
Grand Duke!
Both ministers were astonished to see the prince here.
SCORPIO
Your Majesty.
LEO
What sweet singing.
Makes me want to tarry just a little.
CAPRICORN
Your Majesty, I did not know...
LEO
Captain, would you be so kind
as to investigate?
SCORPIO
It would be my pleasure, Your Majesty.
Lucy was singing in the attic
LUCY
If you love me
dilly, dilly
I will love you
And the door of attic opens with Lucy's step mother Minerva and captain Scorpio entering.
MINERVA
There! You see?
I told you
it was no one of any importance.
SCORPIO
We'll see about that.
Miss.
You are requested and required
to present yourself to your king.
MINERVA
I forbid you to do this!
SCORPIO
And I forbid you to forbid her!
Who are you to stop
an officer of the king?
Are you an empress?
A saint?
A deity?
MINERVA
I am her mother.
LUCY
You have never been
and you never will be my mother.
SCORPIO
Come now, miss.
Minerva pulls Lucy's arm and gives a scowling face to her
MINERVA
Just remember who you are,
you wretch!
Lucy walks from her silently.
Leaving behind her step mother, she goes out the attic and she shuts the door of the room .
Would who she was,
who she really was, be enough?
There was no magic
to help her this time.
This is perhaps the greatest risk
that any of us will take.
To be seen as we truly are.
Have courage, and be kind.
She goes to her living and finds prince Leo standing at the mirror. He notices her from the mirror and turns around to see her in person and he was holding her glass slipper.
Lucy comes forward to him.
Their gaze seems unbreakable.
LEO
Who are you?
LUCY
I am Cinderella.
Your Majesty,
I'm no princess.
I have no carriage,
no parents,
and no dowry.
I do not even know
if that beautiful slipper will fit.
But
if it does,
will you take me as I am?
An honest country girl who loves you.
LEO
Of course I will.
But only if you will take me as I am.
An apprentice still learning his trade.
LUCY
Yes
Leo comes to her and Lucy comes to him in blushed face .
His eyes falling on the her as she sits on the sofa and he kneels in front of her . The prince takes her feet and puts the slipper on it. It fitted perfectly on her foot.
Leo smiles along with Lucy as both stand together while gazing at each other. Leo put his hand on her cheek and about to kiss.
Lucy's step sisters interrupt them by running towards her for apology.
Please.
KAGURA and FLARE
Cinderella!
Ella Lucy!
My dear sister! I'm sorry.
So very sorry.
Both Leo and Lucy greets them and then Leo holds Lucy's hand .
Her step sisters step aside for them to go . Leo and Lucy walks together to the front door
LEO
Shall we?
Lucy was about leave when suddenly she hears footsteps.
Her step mother Minerva was looking at them with in complete zero expression. Lucy turns around to see her step mother
She could've punished her for everything she did . But kindness overtook her anger .
LUCY
I forgive you.
And Leo and Lucy, together leaves her father's house and gets on the carriage, riding towards the palace.
Forgiven or not,
Cinderella's stepmother
and her daughters
would soon leave with the Grand Duke, and never set foot in the kingdom again.
And after the royal wedding, Leo and Lucy, holding hands , was standing next to the wall portraits of their own parents and looking at their portraits in admiration
LUCY
They would have loved each other.
LEO
We must have a portrait of you painted.
LUCY
No. I do hate myself in paintings.
LEO
Be kind.
LUCY
And have courage.
LEO
And all will be well.
Are you ready?
LUCY
For anything, so long as it's with you.
They walk together to the royal balcony and under it millions of people await the royal couple.
King Leo his Queen Lucy waves at them and both turns to each other
LEO
My queen.
LUCY
My Kit.
Leo and Lucy both leans towards each other and kiss as the millions of people of their country cheer for the couple
And so
Leo and Lucy were married.
And I can tell you,
as her fairy godmother,
that they were counted to be
the fairest and kindest rulers
the kingdom had known.
And Lucy continued to see
the world not as it is,
but as it could be,
if only you believe in courage
and kindness and occasionally,
just a little bit of magic.
