The moment Doma finished speaking, the demon covered in eyes jumped eagerly onto the stage, his countless eyes fixed on him.
Doma blinked, stood up, and gracefully ascended the stage, greeting with a smile, "Nice to meet you, I'm Doma~"
"Thousand Eyes." The dozens of eyes on Lower Moon One's body stared greedily at Doma's eyes. His soft voice was androgynous. "Your eyes are beautiful," he said.
"Really! You think so too?"
"I'm so happy" Doma's rainbow eyes widened, his smile pure and brilliant. "Oh my, it seems we'll get along very well. If this weren't the occasion, I would definitely give you my eyes as a gift"
He showed a regretful expression and swung his arms, opening the pair of golden fans in his hands.
"It's alright. I will eat you, and your eyes will be mine." Thousand Eyes raised his left arm, and a blue eye opened in the palm of his hand, facing Doma.
"Blood Demon Art: Thousand Eyes - Pierce."
The blue eye flickered, and dense, sharp spikes materialized in the air, shooting out with incredible speed.
"Ooh—" Doma exclaimed without any real surprise. He swung the fan in his left hand upwards, and a translucent ice wall shot up from the ground, adorned with beautiful ice-crystal lotuses.
With a series of crisp dings, some of the spikes embedded themselves deep into the ice wall, while others curved in mid-air and continued towards him.
Doma laughed and jumped back, creating another ice wall in front of him.
"You want to keep my eyes as a souvenir? Hmm—that sounds nice~"
"You must take good care of them, then." He said with an enthusiastic expression, simultaneously waving his fans to unleash a large cloud of fine ice petals.
"Blood Demon Art: Falling Lotus Flowers."
At the same time, Thousand Eyes had already raised his right hand, a beautiful purple eye opening in his palm.
"Blood Demon Art: Thousand Eyes - Illusion."
Doma's vision blurred for a moment. The next second, he found himself sitting cross-legged in the temple of the Eternal Paradise Cult, a believer weeping and pouring out his suffering below the altar.
"Mmm—is it this boring?" Doma tilted his head, instantly seeing through the fact that he was in an illusion. As expected, with his bland emotions, the illusion created was so uninteresting it was despairing. It couldn't even confuse his mind because it was so dull and fake.
His long-neglected Blood Demon Art, "Hisōten," also activated instinctively, making everything before him seem as fragile as a soap bubble, ready to pop at a touch.
"It seems illusions don't work very well on me. And here I was, thinking of finding a companion skilled in illusions to play with."
"What a shame~" Doma raised his fan and waved it. The illusion before him dispersed like smoke.
He looked to the other end of the stage. Faced with thousands of razor-sharp ice petals, Thousand Eyes stood motionless. A green eye opened on his chest.
"Blood Demon Art: Thousand Eyes - Divert."
The dense ice petals before Thousand Eyes split smoothly down the middle like a stream hitting a rock, curving around his body and fluttering past. However, the ice crystal powder mixed in with the petals and the accompanying low temperature still had some effect on him. His breathing became difficult, and a sharp pain shot through his lungs, but for a demon, this wasn't even a minor injury and would heal in an instant. Traces of frost appeared on his skin, and although it didn't have a major impact for now, it slowed his reaction speed slightly. Fine ice crystals also formed in several of his open eyes.
"Huh? So, I can do this..." Doma's eyes lit up, and he raised his hands to wave his fans.
"Blood Demon Art: Wintry White Princesses."
Two ice vines extended nimbly, their ends blooming into two maiden-shaped ice lotuses. They opened their mouths and exhaled a wide-range freezing mist. The extremely low temperature froze the floor in a thick layer of frost, and the white mist, carrying an invisible killing intent, spread rapidly towards Thousand Eyes.
"Hey, aren't they beautiful?" Doma said with a smile, not continuing his attack, but instead waving his fans to create several more ice walls.
Thousand Eyes frowned and dodged, keeping his distance from the freezing mist, but the icy fog was quickly spreading across the entire stage, freezing everything in its path. Realizing that dragging this on would be disadvantageous, he turned to Doma and opened his left eye. A ghostly light flashed in his empty black pupil.
"Blood Demon Art: Thousand Eyes - Seize."
"Eh—?" Doma suddenly found his perspective had changed. It was as if his eyes were now on Thousand Eyes' body, and he was seeing his own dumbfounded self from his opponent's point of view.
"What a strange ability," he remarked with some novelty, watching his own body tilt its head in confusion.
The eye in the center of Thousand Eyes' forehead suddenly opened, its ferocious red pupil engraved with the characters "Lower One."
"Blood Demon Art: Thousand Eyes - Kill!"
A thin red beam of light shot out from the pupil, heading straight for Doma.
"Is it here? The final move..."
The red light from the eye would cause massive damage upon hitting an enemy's body and also had a binding effect. Although the attack was straightforward and could be dodged from a distance, the red beam would quickly sweep across the area as the eyeball moved, tracking its target by sight... It was not an easy move to deal with.
Just before the red light hit him, Doma's body vanished from its spot, moving so fast that Thousand Eyes couldn't even track his movement. Thousand Eyes quickly swiveled his eyes to search, only to see figure after figure holding golden fans appear in the standing ice walls.
The seemingly randomly placed ice walls had actually been cleverly arranged, reflecting Doma's figure onto every mirror-like smooth ice surface. In the hazy, ice-mist-filled environment, Thousand Eyes couldn't tell which was real and which was fake, or if any of them were real at all.
"You used this trick before, you know. I found your weakness~" Doma's smiling voice came through. "If you rely on sight to find your enemy... it's trouble if you can't find your target."
The shadows on the ice walls raised their fans and swung down.
"Blood Demon Art: Wintry Icicles."
Dense, sharp icicles rained down from above Thousand Eyes' head. He hurriedly tried to jump away, only to find his feet had been unknowingly frozen to the ground. He opened the eye on his chest, about to use his Blood Demon Art to change the trajectory of the falling icicles, when he suddenly felt a terrifying sense of danger from beneath his feet.
But he could no longer dodge. A cluster of sharp icicles shot up from the ice-covered ground, piercing through Thousand Eyes' body. The cold and stiffness interrupted his ability's activation.
"Well, the Wintry Icicles don't necessarily have to come from the sky," Doma said, watching from afar, his usual smile on his face.
The icicles from mid-air also came whistling down, pinning Thousand Eyes to the spot. The extreme cold froze the flesh around his wounds. The Wintry White Princesses continued to spew their mist-like frost, and Thousand Eyes' body began to freeze over on a large scale, all his eyeballs sealed in ice.
"It's over..."
Thousand Eyes thought with unwillingness. In this desperate situation, long-forgotten memories quietly surfaced.
From birth, his world had been dark. He couldn't see the dazzling sun, the summer flowers, or the family that had never given up on him. He wanted so badly to see, to help a little, to see clearly... He froze, stopping his useless death throes.
"What have I been doing all these years?"
"In the beginning, I just wanted to see your faces..."
Before being completely engulfed by the ice, a single tear fell from Thousand Eyes' empty black left eye.
"Hey—are you okay?" Doma peeked out from behind an ice wall. After observing Thousand Eyes' condition, he walked out with light steps.
"You didn't know, did you? My memory is very good."
"Although the sudden shift in perspective was hard to get used to, I clearly remembered my own state, and I knew exactly which direction to dodge and how far I needed to move."
"If you had used your 'Bind' technique just now, maybe your final move would have succeeded."
"Ah—no, that wouldn't have worked either, because 'Bind' couldn't have trapped me anyway~"
Doma stood before Thousand Eyes, watching the tear from his eye freeze into a crystalline ice flower before being completely sealed in the ice. His expression faltered for a moment.
"Eh? You're crying."
"I'm very sorry, but these are the rules." He looked sadly as Thousand Eyes' figure slowly melted into the ice and disappeared completely.
He waved his fan to retract the ice, a feeling of having eaten a large meal spreading through his body. He narrowed his eyes, waved at the high platform, and then jumped back to his wooden platform.
I feel like my performance was fantastic.
Although sending out a few Crystalline Divine Children would have ended the battle more easily and quickly, this was much more fun~
Doma returned to his original spot and sat down obediently on his knees again.
