Chapter 19 - The Kingdom of Jokes (Part one)

"Hahahaha!"

The pale mask in the darkness began to sparkle with lights of different colors and shapes, accompanied by a cheerful laugh.

The ordinary circus transformed into a kingdom of blue, red, purple, and other lights.

"Wow..." Elion muttered admiringly.

The boy stared spellbound at the multicolored starry sky that had descended to Earth.

"Hahaha! Don't be surprised; we've only just begun!" And...

*Snap!*

"Music!" With a snap of the clown's fingers, the silence was broken by an energetic, loud melody.

"Haha! We're short-staffed, so why not hire some more? Haha!"

*Snap*

With a second snap, other clowns appeared on stage next to the boy and the clown. Each clown had a different expression on its mask. There was a cheerful clown, a gloomy one, a surprised one, a neutral one, an angry one, a shocked one, and a clown with red cheeks, among many others.

"So, to the sound of applause..."

The clown clicked for the third time, and faceless dolls appeared in all the empty seats, clapping their hands mindlessly.

"We are happy to welcome you to the real 'Kingdom of Jokes'! Hehe! Let the laughter flow! Hahaha!"

The boy watched the performance, shuddering inside, and did not notice how a smile spread across his face or how his feet began to dance to the energetic music.

"Hahaha!" Yes! That's it! Let's begin!"

As he spoke, some clowns rose into the air. Standing on invisible strings, they began to dance frantically, scattering lights of all colors along the way.

Other clowns dragged a huge wheel onto the stage and began to spin around it in a wild dance.

The rest began wreaking havoc on stage. They performed wild stunts, going berserk with strange acrobatic acts. They built a huge construction set out of monster bones and then broke it, throwing the bones around. Some ran around collecting different lights from the air and set other clowns on fire.

In turn, the burning ones lined up and danced with their legs stretched out.

The chief clown spun around amid the chaos, performing a strange dance inspired by what was happening, all the while laughing joyfully.

"Hahahaha!"

The boy watched, unable to believe his eyes. He rubbed them several times, but everything remained the same, proving that it was real.

Elion's eyes were full of light.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and joined the show.

He danced and ran after the clowns on the wheel, trying to catch up with them. He assembled a structure from the monster's bones and threw the bones at the clowns dancing in the air on invisible strings.

He lined up with the burning clowns and repeated their dance. The boy thoroughly enjoyed what was happening, laughing merrily.

"Hee hee hee! How fun!" he shouted happily.

Finally, he started his own crazy dance with the head clown.

Elion had never learned to dance, nor did he want to. He always danced from the emotions in his heart, and he didn't want to change that.

Now, he was dancing this strange yet incredibly happy dance.

"Hee hee hee!"

"Ha ha ha!"

"Hee hee hee!"

"Hahaha! Yes, kid! Great! You understand the meaning of dance perfectly. You'd make a great clown! Ha ha ha!"

And their dancing continued.

...

Annabelle laughed quietly as she watched her brother perform his strange dance.

She was surprised by the strange change in the circus, of course, but as long as her brother was happy, she couldn't ask for more.

As always, she watched him shine. That's how it was, how it is, and how it will be.

Next to Annabelle, in Elion's place, a clown sat down and smiled at her.

"Haha! How do you like the show, young lady?"

At first, Anabel didn't want to answer, but when she looked at her brother dancing happily, she couldn't help but mumble back with a smile.
