Aiden appeared instantly in front of a modest stone house in one of Dragonhold's quiet residential districts.
This was Ursula's home.
He had not needed directions since his sight had always been on this city, watching and learning every little detail.
As a result, he practically knew where everyone who mattered lived, from the old captains to the new ones, and even certain important nobles.
He reached for the door but stopped himself mid-motion as his enhanced hearing had picked up someone already approaching the door.
The door opened and Ursula stood in the doorway. She had already sensed Aiden's presence the moment he materialized outside.
"Aiden," she said. "What brings you here at this hour?"
"Is Helena inside?" he asked.
Ursula nodded and stepped aside without question. "She is."
Aiden walked past her into the small sitting room.
Helena sat near the hearth with her hands folded in her lap, gazing distantly at the flames.
