Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

HYU Holdings – Executive Floor Conference Room]

At the highest floor of HYU Holdings, the heavy doors of the executive conference room slowly creaked open as a two-hour-long meeting finally came to an end. Shareholders and board members shuffled out, their faces worn with tension.

Seated at the head of the massive oval table was Zhen Yichen—the president of HYU Holdings. His long fingers lightly tapped the armrest as he watched the last of the old men leave. He exhaled slowly and stood up, the weight of the negotiations still lingering in his posture.

Just as he was about to leave—

"Sir… Sir," his assistant called.

Zhen Yichen paused. "What is it?"

"About Andre. He's been assigned as an assistant."

"Assistant?" Yichen raised a brow.

"Yes, sir. He's working under the Entertainment Division—specifically assisting a celebrity."

Yichen's eyes narrowed slightly. "Oh? He requested that?"

"Yes. He explicitly stated he didn't want to be in the spotlight or involved in fame."

"…Heh." A short, low chuckle slipped from Zhen Yichen's lips. He wasn't surprised.

"Where is he now?"

"Mrs. Shen's assistant is taking him to meet with Mo Yue for an introduction. If Mr. Mo agrees, Andre will begin working as his personal assistant."

"Hm." Yichen considered that, his gaze distant. "Have him brought to my office after the meeting with Mo Yue."

"Understood, sir."

Without another word, Zhen Yichen left the conference room, his assistant trailing obediently behind.

[Scene: Mo Yue's Studio]

"Damn it!"

Mo Yue tossed his phone onto the black leather couch, clearly fuming.

"I hate that bastard Su Jie. How can people not see how fake he is?!"

"Calm down, Mo Yue," Guo Ming, his long-time manager, said cautiously.

"How can they not see he's playing the victim?! He was the one who pushed me first!" Mo Yue's voice rose, his eyes flashing with rage.

"…"

"I should've broken his head instead of just his hand."

"Mo Yue," Guo Ming warned.

"What? He deserved it." Mo Yue scoffed.

He sat back into the couch, legs sprawled, his anger radiating. The phone that caused the outburst lay screen-down. With sharp features, seductive phoenix eyes, and a small mole near his tear duct, Mo Yue's beauty was undeniable—even in rage. But his attitude made him a walking storm.

"Where's the assistant Mrs. Shen mentioned?"

"They're on the way. Mrs. Shen's assistant said they'd arrive in about fifteen minutes," Guo Ming replied.

"Hmph. Backdoor connection, huh? I bet he only got this job because of her." Mo Yue leaned back lazily, sneering.

"Maybe," Guo Ming said with a sigh. "But try to take it easy this time. You've already scared off too many assistants. The gossip about you isn't helping your reputation in the industry."

"What, because I like men?"

"…"

Mo Yue chuckled darkly. "I don't care what they think. I do what I want."

"Still," Guo Ming said carefully, "I heard this assistant came directly from the president."

Mo Yue's brows lifted in shock. "Zhen Yichen?"

Guo Ming nodded. "Yes."

Now that was unexpected.

Mo Yue sat up straighter. "Zhen Yichen doesn't handpick people. This guy must be… interesting."

[Scene: Arrival at the Studio]

A knock sounded on the studio door.

"That must be them," Guo Ming said as he stood to open it.

Mrs. Shen's assistant greeted him politely, "Hello, Mr. Guo."

"Welcome, Mr. Ye," Guo Ming replied, then looked over to the young man standing quietly behind him.

His gaze lingered. The assistant was younger than expected—quiet, poised, and startlingly handsome. Guo Ming's brows twitched slightly, but he said nothing.

Andre, aware of the manager's stare, met his eyes briefly. He kept his expression neutral. He'd expected scrutiny.

After all, walking into this world with Yichen's name tied to his introduction was bound to raise eyebrows.
