Dear Dairy.
Today I actually talked to my big brother, which almost never happens. Usually, I just spy on him, because he either yells or ignores me.
But I still love my big brother♡.
Lately, big brother has been acting strange.
Ever since he woke up from his long nap, he's been different, quieter, keeping to himself. But the biggest surprise of all? He didn't chase Ivy.
Like what? He always follows her around like a puppy, so of course I had to spy on him more than usual.
I even wore a detective outfit, complete with lollipop glasses.
So for a while I've been following him, but honestly, I got bored really quickly.
All he ever does now is go to the library, then back to his room, and sleep.
That's it. That's all he ever does.
But today.
Today was different. He was in the garden, sitting under the Tree of Butterflies.
So, as usual, I decided to spy on him. I hid behind one of the bushes and watched.
But then, he looked right at me. And with a big smile, he said, "Hello, Zina."
I froze. My heart jumped. Then I got so excited I couldn't help myself, I ran to him.
"H-hello, big brother,"
I finally talked to him, but of course I was shy.
He was reading, with books scattered all around him. Then he moved the pile to the side and gestured for me to sit.
I sat down, curious about what he was reading. I wanted to ask, "What are you reading, big brother?"
But I got nervous. Instead, the words tumbled out all wrong.
"What are you doing, big brother?" I asked, even though he was clearly reading.
"Just reading," big brother replied. Then he picked up a book and handed it to me. "Here, read this."
After handing me the book, he went back to reading his own.
But, even though I didn't understand a word of what was in the book, big brother had given it to me.
I still pretended to read, because I just wanted to spend some time with big brother.
After a while, my eyes started to feel heavy, and I couldn't fight the sleepiness anymore.
So I stood up, waved goodbye to big brother, and went to my room to sleep.
I'm so happy, super happy. Big brother was finally kind to me.
