Chapter 1 - The Prologue: The End of All Things

Under the pale moonlight, a girl stood alone. Her figure was graceful, her face almost angelic, and her white dress fluttered in the wind blowing in from the edge of the night sky.

It should've been a beautiful scene. But the sword in her hand was pitch-black, and her eyes—clouded in chaos—twisted the moment into something eerie and wrong.

Hate filled her hollow stare. She looked like a ghost, back from hell.

In front of her, the earth burned. From that scorched ground, monsters beyond description crawled out, one after another.

They surrounded a single figure—the one the girl stared at without blinking.

That figure wore a luxurious yellow robe. But beneath the fine cloth was a rotting, twisted body. It looked like some cruel god's failed experiment. Beside it loomed huge, fleshy "mountains" that shook the earth. More beasts poured out from cracks around them, their mouths filled with fangs.

A chorus of unnatural wails echoed in every direction. These creatures swarmed the girl, treating her as prey.

But she didn't wait. She vanished from where she stood and charged straight at the mass of monsters.

Some beasts went berserk and tore into each other, as if infected by something they couldn't control. One of the giant "mountains" was sliced clean in half by the girl's blade.

Flames of chaos danced across the field. The world trembled with her sorrow.

The girl's wings, once white like an angel's, turned blood-red, then black like a demon's. She threw herself into battle without fear, tearing a jagged hole in the monsters' ranks.

Light surged around her, twisted and chaotic. A broken smile spread across her face. Crimson and green substances spilled from her body, staining her once-white dress with too many colors to name.

For a moment, it was unclear who the real monster was.

Then the creature in the yellow robe began to chant. The words were harsh and hard to understand. At the same time, massive tentacles rose from deep underground and struck toward the girl.

Her stamina had limits. The monsters didn't. She started to slow, and wounds began to open across her body.

A spell froze her arm mid-swing. A giant wolf-like beast lunged from the side and sank its fangs into her.

She didn't hesitate. She cut off her own arm and drove a hidden dagger straight into the beast's forehead.

Hundreds of meters passed in blood and battle. Then a cursed spell struck again, severing her legs at the thigh. The ends of the wounds twisted with black magic that resisted healing. The sudden blow dropped her to the ground.

The severed limbs didn't go to waste. The surrounding beasts tore into them, fighting each other for a taste. More monsters piled on.

The creature in yellow watched her calmly. It saw no threat anymore. She had reached her limit.

But just as a massive beast raised its hammer to crush her, she smiled.

"Collapse."

Everything around her melted like snow under a burning sun. Chaos itself turned solid. Her despair and rage took form.

The world twisted with her fury.

The monsters didn't just die. They were remade—melted down, restructured—and forged into a single weapon. A spear formed from the very essence of the broken world.

It pierced the yellow-robed creature straight through.

The apocalypse shattered.

The sky, once choked in ash, turned blue again. Bits of light rained down like stars, falling gently over the ruined land.

The girl, barely human now, reached into her chest and pulled out something small.

A charm. Simple, ordinary.

"I did it, Luoyuan."

Her voice was hoarse. Unsteady. As if she hadn't spoken in a long time.

"I look like this now. I'm probably not gonna make it. But… I did it."

The heat of battle had vanished. Cold returned to the air. She curled up on the broken ground, clutching the charm to her chest.

"You probably wouldn't recognize me like this."

She rubbed her fingers across it. She didn't care that her body was cooling fast.

"It's fine. I'll tell you everything... one piece at a time."

Her mind faded. The backlash from using that power struck like a wave. She trembled. She couldn't hold onto thoughts anymore.

"Luoyuan… I'm cold. But I'm happy... I'll be with you… soon…"

Her final words were so soft they almost couldn't be heard.

Then, silence.
