Chapter 2 - someone else

Chapter 2 – "Someone Else"

> Location: Elena's House – 10:09 PM

Elena stared at the ceiling.

Every creak in the wood sounded like a footstep.

She didn't dare move.

The letter still trembled in her hands.

> My sister is dead.

So why is her voice whispering my name up the stairs?

---

INT. STAIRCASE – ELENA'S HOUSE – MOMENTS LATER

She climbed slowly, keeping the lights off.

Her phone had no signal, no battery, and every clock in the house was stuck.

At the top of the stairs, she froze.

A door was ajar.

The guest bedroom.

She stepped closer, fingers brushing the wall for the switch.

She inhaled.

She pushed the door open.

---

INT. GUEST BEDROOM – CONTINUOUS

Empty.

Almost.

The bed was perfectly made. A small lamp glowed softly.

And on the nightstand… a cassette recorder, its red light blinking.

It was recording.

Elena snatched it, fingers shaking.

She pressed stop.

Then play.

> "You never told the truth, Elena.

You never confessed what you did to her."

Click.

It was her sister's voice.

Alive.

And full of hate.

EXT. KIERAN'S HOUSE – SAME TIME

Across the street, Kieran leaned against his window.

He smoked in silence, watching the darkened town.

House after house, still and quiet.

Then…

Movement.

In the garden.

A figure.

Not one of the others.

Too tall.

Too thin.

And… completely silent.

The figure turned its head—slowly—toward him.

Even from here, Kieran felt its eyes.

And yet he heard nothing.

Not even his own breath.

---

EXT. STREET – SAME TIME

A few blocks away, Zoe stepped outside. Restless. She couldn't sleep.

She looked down the road.

All the streetlights were on.

Except one—the very last.

It flickered.

Under it, stood a little girl in a white dress.

Back turned. Perfectly still.

Zoe frowned.

There weren't supposed to be any children.

> — "...Lou?"

The girl turned her head—slowly.

A high-pitched whine shrieked in Zoe's ears.

A scream… without sound.

Then the streetlight exploded.
