The automatic doors of the hospital slid open with a sharp hiss, and Min-jae rushed inside, half-pulling Seo-jun by the wrist. His breath was uneven, chest rising and falling fast, like he'd been running for miles.
"My mother—car accident—where is she?" he barked at the front desk, words tumbling out all at once.
The nurse behind the counter blinked, then quickly pointed toward the emergency wing. "She's still in the ER. Please wait here for now, sir."
"Wait?" Min-jae's voice cracked with frustration. He looked ready to storm in, but Seo-jun grabbed his arm gently.
"Boss," Seo-jun said quietly, "calm down. Please."
Min-jae pressed his lips together, forcing himself to take a breath, though his hands were trembling.
Just then, heavy footsteps echoed from the hallway. Do-hyun came running in, his face pale, eyes wide and red-rimmed, breath hitching like he'd been crying the entire drive. "Where—where's my mother?" His voice broke mid-sentence.
