Chapter 1 - ninja

A New Beginning

A chill wind swept through the grimy alleyways of Black Rock City. In a shadowed corner, a boy of fifteen, his body thin and clad in tattered rags, stood alone. He had just intervened in a fight, saving a young girl from a group of bullies. After telling them his name, Su Ron, he simply walked away. He hadn't wanted to get involved, but he couldn't stand by and watch. He didn't know it, but that simple act of kindness had left a lasting impression on the girl, who would forever remember the name "Su Ron."

Su Ron was a man out of time, a traveler from a world called the Blue Star. He'd been an ordinary person until a truck had sent him tumbling through dimensions, his physical body following him to this new world. He found himself a child again, a fourteen-year-old boy in a foreign land. Fortunately, he could understand and speak the local language, which was his only saving grace. As he pieced together the fragments of his new reality, he realized he was in the world of Battle Through the Heavens, a novel he'd read in his free time. This was a place where people could kill him with a flick of a finger, a world ruled by powerful cultivators, and he was powerless.

For one year, he had survived like a stray dog, his identity lost to the winds. But he persevered. As he walked away from the alley, a sudden, clear voice echoed in his mind.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, for surviving for one year. System activation beginning... 10%, 25%, 50%..."

His eyes widened, and he froze mid-step. He quickly composed himself and walked a few dozen meters away from the alley before he couldn't contain his excitement anymore. He jumped high, punching the air in a silent cheer.

"100% activated! Congratulations, Host, for unlocking the Super Ninja System!"

"This system can help you become a powerful shinobi and the God of Ninja!"

Su Ron's initial joy was replaced with confusion. "Wait, what? A ninja system? But... I'm in the Battle Through the Heavens world!" A sudden thought struck him. The reason he had never been able to sense or cultivate Dou Qi, the fundamental energy of this world, was because of this system. It had blocked his access to the native power and was preparing him for a completely different path.

He sat on a rock, the initial shock giving way to deep thought. This wasn't a mistake; it was a new beginning. He could still reach the pinnacle of this world's power, not as a Dou Sheng or a Dou Di, but as something else entirely. With a system, anything was possible. An ant could become a god.

He looked up at the moon, a newfound resolve burning in his eyes. He would show this world the power of a ninja. He would forge his own legend.

"System," he said, a grin spreading across his face. "You're forgetting something. Where's my beginner's reward?"

"Ding! The Chakra Refinement Method has been transmitted directly to the Host's mind."

A wave of information flooded his consciousness, detailing the intricate process of refining Chakra—the energy formed by a person's physical and mental strength. He spent the entire night meditating, practicing the technique. By dawn, he had only managed to gather a thumb-sized amount of Chakra, but it was enough.

He opened his eyes, and a translucent panel appeared before him. On it were many cards, each bearing the image of a different ninja from the Naruto world.

"System, what is this?" he asked, his voice filled with a mix of awe and bewilderment.

"Each time you break through to a new level, you must choose a template. You can choose any one character template at that level."

Su Ron studied the cards, his gaze lingering on the image of a young Naruto from Team 7. He tapped the card. The choice was clear.

"Confirm," he said.

"Naruto template selected. Host has received the Uzumaki bloodline, immense chakra reserves, Rasengan, Shadow Clone Jutsu, Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu, and the Transformation Jutsu."

The knowledge, a torrent of techniques and memories, surged through his mind. He felt a newfound power coursing through his veins. He knew this young Naruto wasn't the powerful figure who could control the Nine-Tails, but it was a beginning. A foundation. With his new skills and the system, he was no longer a powerless ant. He had a chance.

The First Test

After the system's voice faded, Su Ron took a moment to inspect his new assets. He noticed a single, luminous yellow ticket in his inventory.

"System, what is this?" he asked mentally.

"This is an additional feature: a lottery ticket. It allows you to randomly acquire an item, skill, or ability from any world."

A rush of excitement surged through him. He used it without hesitation, and a massive, glowing wheel materialized before his eyes. It spun with incredible speed, a blur of scrolls, strange fruits, and mysterious artifacts. After a few tense moments, it began to slow, the items becoming clear. The wheel came to a stop with a gentle click.

The arrow pointed to a strange fruit.

Su Ron knew what it was instantly. The unique swirl patterns, the dark, bumpy skin... it was a Devil Fruit from the world of One Piece. Specifically, it was the Gravity-Gravity Fruit, a Paramecia-type fruit that allowed the user to control gravity. It was an incredibly powerful fruit, one he knew could make him formidable.

"System, if I eat this, will I lose my ability to swim in the sea?" he asked, remembering the Devil Fruits' major weakness.

"Do not worry, Host. This Devil Fruit has been adapted to this world and has no weaknesses like seawater."

Without a second thought, Su Ron ate it. The taste was truly horrendous, but he forced it down, swallowing piece after piece until the entire fruit was gone.

A sudden, overwhelming sensation coursed through his body. He felt a deep connection to the very fabric of gravity. He accidentally released a wave of gravity, and a sudden shift was felt in the space around him. The ground beneath his feet groaned under the immense pressure. Alarm flickered in his eyes, and he immediately focused and willed the gravity to return to normal. He now understood his power; he could easily manipulate gravity within a several-meter radius, controlling it with a power ten to twenty times greater than normal.

A New Mission

Just as he was coming to grips with his new ability, an unwelcome group appeared on the horizon. The infamous Black Tiger mercenary group, known for their ruthless tactics and their habit of extorting money and bullying the weak in Black Rock City.

Leading the charge was a man named Su Zing, his face twisted in a sneer. He was the one Su Ron had beaten up earlier that day.

"You bastard!" Su Zing shouted, pointing a finger at Su Ron. "You beat me up last time! Now let's see you try and run away!"

A hulking man stepped forward, the vice-leader of the Black Tiger mercenary group. His shoulders were as wide as a doorframe, and his eyes held a cold, ruthless glint. "So you're the one who dared to touch my little brother?" he growled. "I'll kill you for that, you little bastard."

A new sound chimed in Su Ron's mind.

"Ding! System Mission: How can a future God of Ninja take this insult? Wipe out the entire Black Tiger Mercenary Group within one week."

A cold smile spread across Su Ron's face. The mission was a perfect fit for his current mood. As the burly man charged, swinging his fist, Su Ron released a wave of gravity.

The force immediately slammed into the five men who had come with Su Zing. The men, who were merely at the Dou Disciple level, instantly fell to the ground, crushed by the overwhelming pressure.

The burly man, however, was different. He stumbled, his feet digging into the dirt, but he didn't fall. He was struggling, his body trembling as he poured his Dou Qi into resisting the force, but he was unable to move forward.

"The power of a cultivator," Su Ron murmured to himself, "is still strong."

He knew he couldn't let the man break free. With a firm resolve, he began to form a Rasengan in his hand—a swirling, blue sphere of concentrated Chakra.

"What is that?" the burly man grunted, his face pale with fear as the orb of pure energy materialized in Su Ron's palm.

Without a word, Su Ron thrust the Rasengan into the burly man's chest.

There was a sickening pop as the blue sphere made contact. The man's chest caved in, his internal organs pulverized by the incredible force. He gasped, his eyes wide with disbelief, unable to comprehend the destructive power of an attack he couldn't even sense. He fell to the ground, lifeless.

Su Ron then turned his attention to the remaining mercenaries, who were still pinned to the ground by his gravity. He walked over to each one, breaking their necks with a sharp twist, ending their lives without a second thought. The alley was now silent, the scent of death hanging heavy in the air.
