Chapter 25 - Time for Payback

The scene begins on a weekend with Aria seated on a nearby study table within her bedroom, where she is reading one of the cultivation techniques Bhaal gave her called Ebon's Soul Contract Manual. From the manual, Aria learns that Ebon's Soul Contract is an advanced soul technique that enables both Spirit Masters and Warrior cultivators to forge temporary, permanent, or conditional soul seals with other blood and flesh life forms who possess souls. Unlike traditional soul seals, which are often permanent and limited to spirit masters, this technique manual teaches a soul seal technique that offers flexible binding conditions that depend on specific criteria. The technique is highly versatile, suitable for strategic alliances, temporary control, conditional contracts, or permanent enslavement. In order for one to even use this technique, he or she is required to first possess a rare artifact known as the Ebon Spirit Tower. According to the manual, it describes the Ebon spirit tower as a Soul Type high Arcana artifact of unparalleled mystic and technological craftsmanship which can freely change it size from as large as an entire city to as small as a molecule, At full size it resembles a towering edifice composed of intricate, luminescent metal and crystalline structures that are in a constant state of motion. Its design features multiple stacked platform tiers, each adorned with elaborate carvings, glowing runes, and complex geometric patterns that pulse with an eerie, dark golden energy. At its core, the tower houses a colossal, ever-rotating eye-like structure, which appears to be a sentient focal point capable of perceiving and influencing spiritual and mental energies across vast distances. Surrounding this central eye are concentric rings of engraved sigils and glyphs, each radiating a faint, otherworldly glow, signifying the tower's ability to manipulate and anchor soul seals.

"Morning, my Lady." Dreams says to Aria as he appears on a nearby holographic screen. "Morning to you, too." Aria answers. "You have been quite focused on that particular manual for the past few days, my lady." Dream says. " I have been researching how Bhaal is capable of performing the soul seal technique like the one on Liza, despite being a warrior cultivator. That's when I came across this manual called Ebon's Soul Contract. The technique itself is quite complex, but if executed correctly, one can create a custom soul seal made of the user's soul imprint on any desired target, provided he/she has enough genetic or spiritual energy to execute the technique. The only conditions where the technique may fail include if the target possesses an Xeon Soul Treasure, if the target creature has stronger soul defenses, if the creature has no soul, and lastly if the creature has already been turned into a soul slave by another cultivator." Aria tells Dream.

"At first, I wanted to use this technique on Joon, but I don't think that is possible since to even execute this technique, one requires a rare artifact known as the Ebon Spirit Tower, which I currently don't possess," Aria says as she stands from her seat. "I suppose I just have to go to plan B, kidnap Joon, and use the fission psionic skill on him in order to even start my plan," Aria says to Dream. "Wait, Aria, how actually are you going to do this? Well, your plan is a little bit complicated. Could you explain it again? Use the hologram skill to explain it more clearly." Dream says to Aria. "Wait, you mean I can even use your abilities?" Aria asks Dream. "Well, yes, I am part of your soul, even I can use your abilities, provided I have your permission and can meet certain requirements. In order to use my abilities, you just need to imagine which of my abilities you wish to use, and you should be able to use it, provided you have enough of the required energy. For example since you did not set restrictions on your cultivation knowledge I too have started to cultivate my genetic and spiritual energy for fun currently I have become a spirit master at the student level 1 with a fist strength of 60kg, and a psionic energy aptitude 11.2, if we combine both our spirit energies we have psionic energy reserve of around 69.4" Dream says to Aria. "Wait, what? So that means we both have different cultivation but can still use each other's ability." Aria says to dream. "Pretty much yes and should you ever fight an extremely powerful opponent we can combine our abilities in order to become a single existence from what I have learnt so far about my purple flaming body is that I am fully capable of mastering any technique you master. So far, I am fully capable of using Aura, magic, demonic energy, genetic energy, and spiritual energy with zero difficulties. We should spar some time to see which of us is stronger. I am actually curious to test my abilities." Dream answers Aria as he begins demonstrating some of his abilities to Aria, "When did you learn of this?" Aria asks. "Around 3 days ago," Dream replies. "Wait, you mean you have only cultivated for 3 days and already had such outstanding results?" Aria replies. "Yes. I have even started teaching Yinrou about genetic and spiritual energy from what I have observed; he, too, is fully capable of using Aura, magic, shadow magic, genetic energy, and spiritual energy, but unlike us, he isn't capable of using demonic energy. So far, he has become a spirit master at the student level 2 with a fist strength of 150 kg and a psionic energy aptitude of 86.2. So if he were to get stronger, he would truly be a great asset, as for Azu, she's cute but doesn't have enough intelligence to understand how to cultivate, but her innate magic abilities make her a reliable ally," Dream says. "Wait, what!!! You mean to tell me that, Yinrou, that lazy shadow wolf, is actually stronger than me?" Aria says, seemingly shocked by the revelation. "Yes, out of all of us, Yinrou is currently the strongest. You can have a sparing match if you still don't believe me, but let's get back on topic and explain how exactly you are going to execute your plan. Dream says as the holographic screen shows him sitting within his room within Aria's internal world.

"Okay, let me explain it again," Aria says as he uses Dream's skill in order to create another holographic screen for him to visualize her plan. "The first stage of my plan was to gather info on Joon, basically, I wanted to know his character routine, what he loves, what he fears, his friends, his allies, and his enemies. Through spying on him with Azu, I was able to learn quiet a lot with the most important info being he has access to Captain Elysia's room and info concerning military strategies and security operations carried out by the red scarved elite core, Acts as a personal bodyguard to Elizabeth and the most important person to this entire plan Joran who despite being in the same squad deeply despises Joon for some reason and wants to obtain the position of head captain which is currently held by Joon.

The second stage of the plan is to kidnap Joon and use the Ectoplasmic Cocoon psionic skill to restrict his movements, then imprison him in my internal world for some time.

The third step will involve me using some of his hair, which contains his DNA, to create a clone of Joon using the fission psionic skill, which I will use to carry out my orders without question.

The fourth step will involve me acquiring as much intel using Joon's body while still making the clone of Joon act as a bodyguard for Elizabeth.

The fifth step will involve me controlling the clone to tell Elizabeth a false rumor that I used a rare manual in order to obtain my fast growth in power. Knowing her nature, Elizabeth will ask him to get the manual. After she asks this, I will use the clone to come to my room and take my blue chemistry book, which details the reaction of fire on different substances. I will then command Joon's clone to go and store the book in Joon's locker when Joran is around and to do it in a panicked and disoriented state, ensuring Joran sees the book and gets curious by Joon's strange behavior.

The sixth step will involve me using my authority as Bhaal's direct disciple to inform Joran of my missing blue chemistry manual and task him with finding the culprit, whoever it may be, and that I will offer him my protection as the direct disciple of Bhaal if the culprit turns out to be a high-ranking official. Joran likely remembering the blue chemistry book he saw with Joon's clone will be more interested in carrying out the task in order to remove Joon from his head captain position I will have already put elaborate but highly crucial evidence including his hair, pieces of his cloth and as a bonus some of Elysia's sensitive military info concerning Bhaals military operation in his training bag which will lead him to suspect Joon as not only the person who stole the book but also a potential spy and enemy to the family making him the main suspect and as he continues with his investigations it will eventually lead him to finding the chemistry book in Elizabeth room which the clone would have then given to Elizabeth.

The seventh step will involve Joran reporting to me of him finding my manual in Elizabeths room and the potential that Joon might be a spy and that I should inform the the reflection hall of his findings, I will inform Inquisitor Naomi of the issue and order him to uphold the family's laws since Elizabeth was the the one who was caught with my book, she will will be taken into questioning, She will most likely betray Joon claiming that he was the one who gave her the book and that she had no part in stealing the book. After this Joon clone will be taken into questioning and shown the evidence that points to him being the mastermind who stole the blue chemistry book from Bhaals direct disciple and aside from this that during the investigation evidence that he may be a spy was discovered in his bag pack, and from what I have seen it does not matter what rank you are, if you break the families rule only swift punishment awaits you no matter your rank. Most likely in order to protect her daughter, Elysia will probably use her influence and put the blame on Joon's clone claiming Joon is a spy who was using Elizabeth to further his goals of obtaining info on the families secrets, leading Joon's clone to be sent to the reflection hall for punishment and according to the family rules the one who was stolen from will have full authority to torture and punish the culprit privately as he/she sees fit and with Joon now being suspected a spy he will never again see the light of day. Once these events occur, I will use my mind wipe psionic skill to remove all events of my kidnapping on the real Joon and wait for Naomi to call me to punish Joon's clone, which will now be in prison.

Lastly, the 8th stage. When I am called to torture him, I will first exchange the fake clone with the real Joon when I am left alone with Joon's clone while in his cell. After that I will slowly torture him every day whenever I am allocated time by the reflection hall to personally torture him by giving him a test of what he put me through during my time in the reflection hall and when the reflection guards come to look at the real Joon's conditions I will always tell them he refuse to confess saying that he says he never committed those actions and that he refuses to admit to being a spy despite the evidence against him leading even his friends and allies to question his allegiance and believe that Joon is a highly skilled spy who has been trained to handle extreme levels of torture. The best part of this is should if Joon dies while being tortured by me, no action will be taken against me as stated in the family rules and regulations." Aria says to Dream.

"Damn, just damn, okay, let's get this plan rolling. When are you planning to kidnap him?" Dream asks, seemingly excited and astonished at Aria's meticulous plan. "Tonight, Azu is currently monitoring his movements," Aria replied calmly, opening a new holographic screen which shimmered into existence, revealing a live feed from Azu's white vortex spider viewpoint. From Azu's vantage point Joon is appears as a human with a striking figure well defined physic, currently immersed in his training within the dojo. He possesses short, stark white hair that contrasts sharply with his deeply red eyes. His physique is well-defined, showcased by the tight, black, sleeveless top he wears, which is overlaid by a long, dark coat draped over his shoulders, the interior of which features a dramatic red lining. The most noticeable elements of his attire is the vibrant red scarf looped around his neck a signature of his status as a member of the red scarved elite corps and the intricate, sprawling red, swirling tattoos that cover his left arm and shoulder, suggesting both power and affiliation. He is accessorized with a cross-pendant necklace and a practical leather harness, and a sword rests sheathed across his back. On the screen, both Aria and Dream watched intently as Joon trained diligently in one of the dojos within the family estate. His movements were precise, disciplined, a testament to his dedication.

Suddenly, a knock is heard. Aria shuts off all the holographic screens and goes to open the door. As she opened it, standing there was Lorcan, his face lit with a broad, eager grin. "Hey, little sis, let's go train," Lorcan said cheerfully, his tone brimming with enthusiasm. Aria rolled her eyes inwardly, a smirk forming. Seriously, is Lorcan always thinking about fighting? she mused. I've already broken seventeen of his swords no, scratch that, I've officially earned the title: THE BREAKER OF SWORDS within the family. She mentally chuckled at her own reputation. "Just how many swords do you have?" she teased, crossing her arms. "During our sparring matches, I've already shattered 17 of your swords," Aria replies.

Lorcan shrugged nonchalantly, a grin still plastered on his face. "It's not a big deal. I can just buy more swords with my merit points. I still have 50,459 merit left. I used 10,000 to repair my original broadsword, and I've purchased 30, +2 magic broadsword for only 3000 merit points. So, no worries." He paused, eyes shining with determination. "Thanks to our training, my sword techniques are improving steadily. My original sword is being fixed by Cespenar, the family blacksmith, and he told me it'll be ready in about two weeks. So I have decided in the meantime, no matter how many of my swords you will break in our sparing matches, I will continue to train with you till I reach a breakthrough in my swordsmanship," Lorcan says to Aria, his eyes filled with passion. Aria chuckled softly, her tone gentle but firm. "Fine, I get it. But today, I'm a bit busy. We'll train together on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Deal?" Lorcan nodded enthusiastically. "Okay, little sis. See you on Monday." He patted her on the head affectionately before heading off toward the training grounds. Dream's voice was filled with admiration as he watched Lorcan leave. "That kid never ceases to amaze me. Despite losing countless times, he keeps challenging you. I, for one, would have gotten the hint and given up." Aria closed the door with a soft sigh, a mixture of pride and affection in her eyes. "He's a good brother, even if he's a total muscle head. Maybe I should get a normal sword so I don't keep breaking his swords."

"Finally, I can now begin to concentrate on my plan. I should probably first test the fission skill before beginning my mission." Aria says as she sits in a meditative position and enters her internal world in spirit form, appearing in the training room on her first temple-like structure, which is currently inside the huge golden tree. Yinrou sensed her master and teleports to the temple to greet her master. "Hello, my lady, how have you been ?"Yinrou says as he wags his tail. "You little brat, why did you not tell me that you could use Aura, magic, shadow magic, genetic energy, and spiritual energy?" Aria says as she playfully pinches one of his ears. "Well, in my defense, you never asked," Yinrou replies. "You cheeky wolf, we will definitely talk later. I currently want to create a fission clone of myself." Aria says as he calls for Dream, who teleports to her momentarily. " Are you ready to begin, my lady?" Dream asks. "I am," Aria says as he cuts off a small portion of her hair and prepares to activate her fission skill." From Dream's memory, we learn more about the fission skill. From the details, we learn a clear and full description of the skill, which went as follows.

Fission

Psychometabolism

Level Psion 7 skill

Manifesting Time: 15 sec

Range: Personal

Effect: Creation of a precise duplicate of yourself or others

Duration: permanent until death

Psionic Power Points required: 13

Description:

Drawing upon the biological principle of fission, this ability allows Psionic users to duplicate their own or others' consciousness and physical form, generating an exact duplicate that exists alongside them. Just as prokaryotic cells undergo binary fission to produce genetically identical offspring, this ability allows the user to create an exact copy of both mind and body, creating a perfect clone with real-life organs that thinks, acts, and perceives exactly as the original. This duplicate is fully under your control and follows your commands seamlessly.

-Upon activation, you copy the consciousness and physical essence of the target, forming a second entity that is a mirror image of that entity.

-The duplicate shares the memories, skills, and current state of mind of the target at the moment of duplication.

-The Duplicate has the same abilities as the original except for innate soul abilities, since the clone does not have a soul.

-Both the copy and the original can act independently, but orders given by the original caster of the fission technique are automatically obeyed by the copy unless specified otherwise.

-The duplication lasts permanently until the clone is heavily damaged or if the original psionic link is cut off. After which, the clone's organic body remains and looks like that of any dead creature.

-All the knowledge and skills acquired by the duplicate are seamlessly and instantly transferred back to the original caster of the fission spell once they choose to conclude the technique on a particular clone and absorb the essence of the targeted clone. This transfer occurs regardless of whether the clone was still alive or had already died, and will only work if both the original and the targeted clone are in the same plane of existence; if not, the psionic user who used this skill will have to go to the reality where the clone is in order for him or her to absorb back the fission clone. Once absorbed, the psionic user's sea of consciousness is enriched with the clone's accumulated expertise, memories, and abilities, effectively enhancing their own power and awareness through this profound mental convergence.

Additional Notes:

-The clone's actions are perfectly synchronized with the intentions of its creator, making it an ideal extension of your will.

-Any damage effects applied to the clone only affect the set clone.

-The ability to create multiple duplicates in rapid succession or simultaneously is only limited by the user's psionic Power Points and mental focus.

-Requires varying psionic Power Points to maintain daily, depending on the creature's life gene. The higher the life gene, the higher the consumption of psionic power.

-The clone will never disobey the orders of the original caster of this skill.

Limitation:

-If the original caster of this technique dies all of his clones die as well.

After some time, Aria sits cross-legged within the luminous, temple-like interior nestled inside the magnificent golden tree, her eyes closed in deep concentration. As she channels her potent psionic energy, intricate runes begin to shimmer and swirl around her body, pulsating with a mysterious glow. These runes move purposefully toward her hair, which he had previously cut, which starts to shimmer and disintegrate into fine particles, symbolizing the breaking down of her DNA. Visualizing the biological principle of fission, she envisions her consciousness and genetic material splitting with perfect precision, her mind flooding with the clear image of her own essence dividing seamlessly. Gradually, a new matter begins to converge, weaving itself into a perfect replica of her physical form, meticulously accurate in every detail, from skin texture, mana, and even genetic and spiritual energy, to even the clothes Aria is wearing, which is a red kimono. The air around her ripples softly as her intentions solidify into a tangible, living duplicate, an exact clone, fully obedient and synchronized with her will. As the process completes, the runes dissipate into shimmering motes of light, and Aria deactivates her fission skill, leaving behind a flawless, obedient replica of herself ready to serve her next command.

"Yes, I did it, I actually did it," Aria says as she begins to jump. Aria says as she jumps up and down, "So you are my creator." Aria clone says, looking at her new master. "Holy fuck, it talks," Aria shouts. "Amazing, do you always state the Obvious, or are you just mentally redundant?" Aria's clone says to Aria, who is currently being held back by Dream and Yinrou, "I am gonna kill this bitch." Aria says as she summons her sword, Kuruyami, to her hand. "You want to go bitch? Let's go," Aria's clone says, picking up a nearby wooden sword. Suddenly, Azu's face appears on a holographic screen; she is momentarily confused by the now two Arias within the room. She then senses her true master using her psionic link and notifies the real Aria that Joon is has finished up with his training session and has gone to the mansion's bathhouse. "Keep monitoring him, and inform me of his movements, "Aria says to Azu, who salutes in acknowledgment using one of her spider legs.

"I can't believe how realistic it looks. If I could not sense your soul, I probably would not know the difference between you two," Dream says as she looks at the real Aria. "What about you, Yin? Can you tell which of us is real?" Of course, our familiar master bond allows me to know where the real you is at all times. Unless a powerful artifact blocks our bond, I will always find you." Yinrou replies. " I think I understand. "Okay, let's get to the matter at hand. I want you to…." Aria says as she is suddenly cut off by her clone. "I already know, we share the same conscience. I am to stay here and act as the decoy till you return from your mission."The clone replies. "You know you are really rude, can't you just wait for me to finish saying the plan?" Aria says as her clone says "no!" and exits the internal world. " Have you guys ever had the urge to kill yourself?" Aria says to Dream and Yinrou. "By the way, did you find any clothes suitable for night operations?"Aria asks. "Yes, I did. Bhaal storage ring had various outfits for stealth missions and was considerate enough to ensure he had smaller clothes that you should be able to fit in. I will send the outfit to you once you are in the real world." Dream replies to Aria as she begins returning to the real world

As she returns to the real world, she finds her clone reading one of her storybooks. "Hey, I can't keep calling you clone, so from now on I will be calling you number 2, got it?" Aria says to her clone. "Very well, and since we are calling each other by numbers, I will call you 1, got it." The clone says sarcastically to Aria. "Fine, just don't do anything I wouldn't do," Aria says to number 2. "Hey, dream send the outfit, it's starting to get late Aria says as she looks at her clock and sees it's around 6:36 pm. "Okay, just a moment, I have also modified all your outfits to accommodate your tail." Dream says as she sends her the outfit from her internal world, which, after a while, appears in Aria's hand. Aria's outfit is a sleek, dark-colored, tactical-style ensemble with a fitted, armored appearance. It features a hooded top with a high collar, and the material appears to be a combination of flexible fabric and reinforced armor plates, providing both mobility and protection. The outfit is accented with brown straps and belts that cinch the waist, arms, and legs, adding a layered, functional look. The back of the outfit has been modified with a hole in the lower back, specifically designed to accommodate her tiefling tail. This opening is seamlessly integrated into the design, with reinforced edges to maintain the outfit's durability and aesthetic coherence. The rest of the attire remains form-fitting, emphasizing agility and stealth, with the overall look being both practical and intimidating.

As Aria finishes putting it on, number 2 compliments Aria, saying, " That outfit looks good on you, but it would look better on me." "WE LOOK THE SAME!! Should I just kill it?" Aria says mentally. "You do know we share the same consciousness, thus I can hear your thoughts even if you are far away." Number 2 replies as she shifts to another page in the book she is reading. "By the way, can you even eat?"Aria asks number 2. "Of course I can eat, when I eat the organic matter is later digested and converted to psionic energy, making me require less energy from you. "Number 2 answers. "Hey Aria, you should know that our current combined psionic energy reserve has been reduced by 23 points and is currently sitting at 46.4. The fission skill used 13 psionic power points, and in order for the clone to run as usual, it will consume 20 psionic power points daily. Dream says to Aria. "Don't worry, 46.4 psionic power points are enough to deal with Joon. Let me wait for 7.00 PM so I can begin the mission. Aria says as she sits in a meditative position, trying to accumulate more spiritual energy.

As the clock strikes 7.00 am, Azu notifies Joon is currently having dinner in the mess hall. As she crawls towards the Joon's room using the ventilation system, "Good job, go and keep guard on Joon's room. I will be there shortly." Aria says as she begins to stand and activates one of her psionic abilities called Shadow Body. From Dreams Analysis, we are able to learn the following information on this particular skill.

Shadow Body

Level 8 Psionic skill

Manifesting Time: 7 sec

Range: Personal

Target: Self

Duration: 1 Hour

Psionic Power Points required: 15

Description:

This ability allows the psionic user's shadow to subsume with his/her body, together with all his/her equipment, and become a single living shadow. As a living shadow, the psionic user blends perfectly into any other shadow and vanishes in darkness, becoming nearly undetectable.

While still gaining several cool but time limited buffs such a dark vision and a +10% magic resistance, immunity to damage that would normally be considered critical hits such as, if the psionic user is stabbed in the heart while in this form the blade simply passes through as if he/she is a ghost, immunity to disease and poison and lastly the psionic user only take half damage if attacked by acid, electricity or fire of any kinds.

Limitation:

-While affected by this power, the psionic user can only be detected by high-level powers that read thoughts, life, or presences.

-While in this form, the user is immune to physical damage, but the user can still be injured by acid, electricity, or fire of any kind.

-While in this form, the user can still be affected by mental attacks.

As Aria activates the shadow body skill, her body and all her equipment become indistinct, blurring into the shadows around her. Her own shadow rising up, enveloping her completely, and fusing with her form. In a final, swift motion, she transforms into a single living shadow.

This transformation grants her a suite of time-limited benefits for the next 1 hour:

She is nearly undetectable as she can blend perfectly into any darkness.

She gains Dark Vision and a +10% magic resistance.

She becomes immune to critical damage (a stab to the heart would simply pass through her like a ghost), as well as immunity to disease and poison.

She takes half damage from acid, electricity, or fire.

Now a stealthy, amorphous entity, Aria can move freely and silently, though she must remember the skill's limitations: she can only be detected or noticed by individuals with high-level detection powers.

"Okay, let me begin the mission," Aria muttered, giving the signal to her Fission Clone, Number 2, who silently opened the nearby window. "Let's do this," Aria declared, leaping from her third-floor room and descending with effortless grace. As she moved across the central grounds toward Bhaal's Mansion, the Shadow Body skill rendered her completely undetectable. A patrolling guard in a knight's armor glanced in her direction, sensing a disturbance, but saw only empty space. "Must have been the wind," he dismissed, continuing his patrol. "Holy shit, that was close. I may be invisible, but I can still be discovered if I come into contact with someone," Aria mentally noted, maintaining her focus as she glided toward the main family mansion, the target being the rooms of the Red Scarved elite core. Mid-transit, Number 2 telepathically informed Aria that Liza had delivered her supper. "Just act normal and don't do anything I wouldn't do," Aria instructed her clone. Arriving at the main mansion after traversing the rooftops of various buildings, she used her shadow form to move with flawless, ghost-like stealth, finally locating Joon's room. Finding the door locked, she remained composed, focusing her mind to summon her telekinetic powers. With gentle, surgical precision, she manipulated the intricate internal lock mechanism, easing the tumblers into place. A faint, final click signaled success. Aria slipped inside quietly, immediately locking the door behind her, and moved to a large, nearby wardrobe, where she positioned herself to wait, a coiled, invisible predator.

"Now to wait," Aria whispered, a silent observer in Joon's room. Though Azu couldn't physically see her master, the white vortex spider sensed Aria's presence, twitching slightly in response. Moments later, Joon entered his room, visibly agitated. "Fuck, I can't believe Aria actually became Bhaal's disciple. If things keep going like this, it's only a matter of time before she comes for revenge," he thought, pacing nervously. "Finally, you have arrived. Time for payback, asshole," Aria says mentally, her own intentions now focused on her mission. Her eyes began to glow with a faint, dangerous golden light as she prepared to strike. "Psionic Blast," Aria says mentally as she launches her mental attack on Joon. A sudden, cone-shaped ripple of invisible mental force erupted from Aria's location and slammed into Joon's mind. As Dream, who is still in Arias' internal, observing Arias' mission progress, opens a hologram, which shows more details on the skill Aria is using

Psionic Blast

Telepathy [Mind-Affecting]

Level 3 Psionic skill

Manifestation Time: 3 sec

Starting Range: 20 feet'

Area of Effect: 20' cone-shaped burst

Duration: Depends on the user's psionic talent

Power Resistance: Creatures with higher mental defenses have a chance of resisting

Psionic Power Points required: 5

The air ripples with the force of psionic user's mental attack, which blasts the minds of all creatures or set creatures within range. A psionic blast stuns all affected creatures for 6 seconds.

Augment: For every 2 additions of psionic power points you spend, the duration of the stun effect increases by 6 seconds.

Disoriented and still stunned from the Psionic Blast, Joon frantically tries to locate his attacker, but his eyes registered nothing. Aria, refusing to let him recover, immediately pressed her advantage by activating her next psionic skill: Ectoplasmic Cocoon. From Dream, we learn more about this skill.

Ectoplasmic Cocoon

Metacreativity

Level 3 psionic skill

Manifesting Time: 3 sec

Range: Sight of manifester

Target: One medium or smaller creature

Duration: permanent till dismissed

Resistance: None, can only be broken by individuals with great physical strength

Power Resistance: None

Power Points required: 5 psionic points

This skill allows the psionic user to draw writhing strands of green ectoplasm from the Astral Plane that wrap up the subject like a mummy. The subject can still breathe but is otherwise helpless, unable to see outside the cocoon, speak, or take any physical actions. The subject's nostrils are clear (air passes through the cocoon normally).

Dispel Psionics cannot affect an Ectoplasmic Cocoon, but Dismiss Ectoplasm can dismiss it. Extreme measures or items have a chance of destroying the cacoon.

The creature within the cocoon is visible only as a vague shape. Others cannot directly harm or interact with the subject unless the cocoon is destroyed.

Invisible and operating with precision, Aria drew writhing strands of ectoplasm from the Astral Plane. These energy strands instantly wrapped around Joon, encasing him completely like a mummy. Joon, still dazed, suddenly found himself helplessly trapped within the cocoon. Though he could still breathe normally, the cocoon rendered him unable to see, speak, or take any physical actions. He was now a vague green shape struggling within the translucent, shimmering energy prison. Crucially, the cocoon shields him, meaning others cannot directly harm or interact with him until the ectoplasm is destroyed or if certain parts of his body are released. With the formidable Joon instantly neutralized, Aria had successfully executed the opening phase of her revenge.

After Aria captures Joon, Aria grabs his body and, for the first time, she teleports her physical body, together with Joon's body, inside her internal world, leaving the Azu her vortex spider act as a lookout in case someone enters Joon's room. "Hey, Aria, this is your first time entering the internal world in your physical form." Dream says to Aria, who is currently dragging Joons' body. " Yes, but will talk about that later, how much psionic energy am I left with?" Aria asks. " Around 26 psionic power points." Dream replies. "Shit, is this even going to be enough?" Aria says, seemingly frustrated that she did not calculate for this scenario. "Don't worry Aria the only reason why your fission clone consumed much of your psionic power is because of your life gene which sits currently at around 2 as for Joon his life gene is even lower at around 0.11, so I don't think the clone will consume much of your psionic energy" Dream says as one of the floating circular drones scans Joons body and relays the info to Dream on a holographic screen. "Okay, let's do this before someone comes looking for Joon," Aria says as she makes the ectoplasmic cocoon release some of Joon's hair, which he cuts before sealing the cocoon again and begins to use the fission skill on Joon's hair.

Aria swiftly prepared to use the powerful Psionic skill Fission on the sample of Joon's hair. She focused her mind and initiated the Level 7 Psionic skill, Fission, with a base cost of 13 Psionic Power Points. Leaving her with now only 13 Psionic Power Points left. Over the 15-second Manifesting Time, Aria concentrated on the genetic essence contained in Joon's hair. She began to draw upon the biological principle of fission to duplicate Joon's entire consciousness and physical form. Using her psionic energy, Aria created a precise duplicate of Joon. This entity was a perfect copy, an exact mirror image, with real, organic body organs that possessed Joon's memories, skills, and abilities. The duplicate formed, now standing as a perfect clone of Joon. It instantly became fully under Aria's control, acting as a seamless extension of her will, automatically obeying her commands. Similar to Arias' fission clone, now called number 2, this clone is permanent until death or until the original psionic link is severed. Since Joon's life gene is low, standing at around 0.11, the daily Psionic Power Point consumption required to maintain the clone is only 0.22. "What the hell, why is the consumption so little, not that I am complaining by the way?" Aria asks Dream seemingly happy.

"Aria, since you're asking about why the consumption is so little, the answer is quite simple: it's because of his Life Gene Level. Dream explained, pulling up a complex holographic chart displaying genetic structures. Think of the Life Gene Level as the absolute foundation of any organism; it's the measure of your genetic quality and potential. It dictates a lot, including your maximum strength and, potentially, even your lifespan." Dream says as he tapped the holographic screen, highlighting some key values for Aria: "The reason I was not concerned about the energy cost of Joon's fission clone is because of his low Life Gene Level," Dream continued. "The higher the Life Gene Level, the more Psionic Power Points it takes to maintain your Fission clone daily. For instance after reading some of the manual containing knowledge of a place known as the Origin Continent I have learnt that, the human race in that universe is treated as the standard, with a Life Gene Level of 1 similarly in the world of Toril most of the strongest mortal in Toril have the capability of having a life gene of 1 when they reach adulthood, this is mainly thanks to mana and access to the weave, from what I have learnt their extremely few mortal individuals in Toril who have have awakened the ability to sense and use genetic and spiritual energy" Dream says as he changes the hologram details to show the details of Aria and joon's life gene level.

"Now, let's look at the difference in life gene between you and Joon. According to Bhaals scanners, your current Life Gene is around 2, which is already double a standard for a peak human within Toril, explaining your natural talent when it comes to utilizing psionic, or what is commonly known as spiritual energy in the Origin Continent. Joon's Life gene, on the other hand, is even lower, at about 0.11. Because his level is so low, Life Gene Level, maintaining his clone will consume much less energy than maintaining a copy of someone with a high Life Gene Level. A lot of powerful beings, even many Universe Venerables, only manage to raise their level to around 10, which is already considered incredibly difficult." Dream says as he closes the hologram.

Basically As a person cultivates to become a World Master, their cells grow and evolve naturally. In the end, without any external help, all humans reach the same basic Life Gene level of 1 at the top of World Master. However, different races and species have different limits; some are naturally stronger. For example, the Golden Horned Beast race has a Life Gene Level of 10, making them ten times more powerful enabling them to live 10 times longer than humans from that universe, who are considered to have a level standard of 1 if they don't have the fortune of encountering and using things like Blood River Crystals to evolve and increase the quality of their bloodline and life gene level.

Some races, like the Sky Wolf, naturally have a higher Life Gene Level of 6. The higher your Life Gene Level, the bigger your body can grow. People can try to improve their Life Gene Level, but there are limits; ordinary lifeforms can only reach a level of 100. Special Lifeforms can go much higher, up to over ten thousand times that limit. Improving beyond that is extremely difficult, and most powerful experts from that universe only reach a life gene level of around 10, making it very hard to improve further.

"I see I still have a lot to learn, will talk later, Dream," Aria says as he leaves Yinrou and Dream to watch Joons' real body and exits her internal world with the clone. "Okay, this is your order. You are to act normally and follow Joons' regular routine until I give you further orders. " Aria says to Joon's fission clone. "Yes, master." The clone says as it bows in acknowledgment. After this Aria, having completed the mission and still in shadow form, took Azu into her internal world and began journeying back to the Central Palace, where her room is located. As she neared her room, she finds the window closed. As she tries to call number 2 in order for her to open the window, she is welcomed to the sound of number 2 snoring. "Wake up, you dumb clone," Aria says, seemingly pissed at her clones' audacity to sleep while she was carrying out her mission. Aria's clone, on receiving Aria's furious cry, jolted awake, falling from Aria's bed and went to open the window, allowing Aria to skillfully jump and return to her room with the grace of a cat. "I was simply meditating," number two says as she yawns. "I have no time to deal with you right now. Stay in my internal world for now." Aria says as she sends her fission clone number 2 into her internal world. "What a long day, hope you guys have stored Joons body safely," Aria says to Dream and Yinrou. "Yes, we have stored his body in one of the holding rooms within one of your palaces and placed Yinrou to guard him, just in case." Dream replies. Okay, guys, see you tomorrow Aria says as she changes into her night gown and jumps on her bed, falling Asleep immediately, seemingly tired by the events of the day."
