Rita's last sentence had completely shocked Akane and Syl.
They both tried not to show it, but they were absolutely dumbfounded and found themselves unable to say a word.
"It was pretty confusing at first," Rita continued. "One second, I thought he had recognized his daughter, and the next he was leading me to his bed."
The two did not even know whether they wanted to hear the rest of the story. They didn't have it in them to tell Rita that this was enough, that they could picture the rest.
In the first place, they couldn't picture the rest, and wanted to know whether what the continuation they had in mind had come to be or not.
