King stood up and went upstairs. He grabbed a fresh shirt and pulled it over his head, but as he adjusted it, a familiar, sharp cramp seized his lower abdomen. He bent over slightly, pressing his palm hard against his side.
When he reached the bottom of the stairs, Charlotte immediately noticed something was wrong. Her brows furrowed with concern as she asked, "King, what happened?"
He forced himself upright, dismissing the wave of nausea. "It's just a stitch. Stomach pain. I'll be fine."
Charlotte placed a hand on his forehead, then dropped it to his arm, her expression hardening with worry. "King, this isn't normal. I know you hate hospitals, but this pain is becoming too often. Don't you think you need to go and check if there's something wrong?"
King offered a weak, dismissive smile. "Nothing is wrong, Charlotte. I just need some rest, that's all."
"King…" she called softly, still worried.
