The old man's words echoed in Kaelen's mind as he ventured deeper into the forest beyond Eldermoor. Every step felt heavy, weighed down by unseen eyes lurking just beyond the trees.
Branches whispered secrets, and shadows danced in the moonlight. Kaelen tightened his grip on the pendant — his only link to the power awakening inside him.
Suddenly, a rustle in the bushes. Kaelen spun around, heart pounding.
From the darkness emerged Elara Nyx, her eyes shimmering like stars. "You're not safe here," she warned, voice low and urgent.
"Who are you?" Kaelen asked, wary but intrigued.
"A friend — and a guide," she replied. "The war you're thrust into is bigger than you realize. The Black Lantern's War is not just a battle of swords, but of wills and secrets."
Before he could ask more, distant howls echoed again.
"Elara, what's coming?" Kaelen whispered.
"A storm," she said, eyes darkening. "And you are at its center."
