Have you ever wanted to wake up in another world? To start your whole life over from scratch? Well... I have to say, sometimes it's not as great as it sounds.
This morning, when I opened my eyes, I was holding a stunning lady with reddish hair in my arms. I got so embarrassed that my only reaction was to jump up and apologize. But when I calmed down, I noticed that both she and I were covered in blood — and she had bruises all over her body.
And then I realized — my body didn't have a single cut, as if she had protected me.
Looking around, I saw we were in a very simple wooden house. Why is that strange? Well, she was far too beautiful for a place like that.
I carefully crept along the wall toward the door, hoping there wasn't anyone dangerous outside. When I got there, all I could see were trees in every direction.
And then a realization hit me — that beautiful woman and I had been murdered.
There was nothing valuable broken on the floor, meaning our lives were a threat to someone.
— Humm... That complicates things.
Well, let's look on the bright side: whoever ordered our deaths thinks we're gone. As I grow older, my appearance will change too, and as long as I'm not too "lucky" and cross paths with them again, everything should be fine!
— Groom... (stomach growling)
— That is... if I don't die of hunger first. Now things are really complicated.
— And then there's her... if I don't hurry, this place will become uninhabitable.
I went to the kitchen looking for knives, forks, even a spoon. Luckily, there was a knife. Now armed, I went out to explore the forest — I needed to get a sense of the geography. I had to be precise about where to bury her so I wouldn't contaminate the soil, and if I needed to fight… or rather, run away, I'd need an escape route.
About 20 steps away from the house, I took a deep breath and looked up. The sun wasn't directly overhead, so it wasn't noon yet. Based on the sun's position, I figured east was to my left, west to my right, and south in front of me. Not bad for someone without a watch or a compass.
Every three trees, I marked an "X." At one point, while marking a tree, I heard a sound... It sounded familiar… what was it...? It was...
— The chirp of a bird.
Right away, I stopped what I was doing and ran toward the sound. The more I ran, the more birds I heard singing. When I finally reached the edge of the forest, a bright light blinded me — my vision went completely white. When it cleared, I was stunned by the beauty before me and could only say:
— It's PARADISE.
In a hilly plain stood a tree the size of a building... no, much bigger. It sparkled with colorful lights, and there were animals around it — but... they were not ordinary animals.
