Astra sighed.
"Okay then…"
When I got married to Leo, everything was going smoothly. We were living a happy life with two kids.
One day,I was in the kitchen, reaching up to grab some snacks from the upper cabinet when suddenly someone wrapped their arms around my waist from behind.
I stiffened—but then relaxed.
I thought it was Leo. He must have come back from the office.
I closed my eyes, leaning back slightly into the familiar hold, and gently kissed him on the lips with a soft smile.
"You're back already?"
But the moment lingered too long.
The grip on my waist tightened—not affectionate, not gentle. Fingers pressed into my skin, firm, possessive. The warmth behind me felt wrong. Too heavy. Too unfamiliar.
My smile faded.
I tilted my head slowly to look—and my breath caught in my throat.
Leo's elder brother was standing behind me, smiling.
My eyes widened in horror.
I tried to pull away, but his arm slid higher, locking me in place against his chest. His other hand brushed my side as if he had every right to touch me.
Disgust churned in my stomach.
"What are you doing?" I shouted, struggling. "Get off me! What kind of joke is this, brother-in-law?!"
He leaned closer instead, his face inches from mine, his grip tightening.
"What joke, Astra?" he whispered, voice low. "I knew you loved me."
"I would never!" I thrashed against him, panic rising. "Let go of me!"
"But you kissed me," he said softly, almost amused. "And guess who saw it."
My blood ran cold.
I turned my head—and my heart dropped.
Leo was standing there.
His eyes were burning. His fists clenched. He was staring at us.
I froze.
Before I could speak—before I could explain—
A deafening sound rang out.
When I opened my eyes, Leo's elder brother was lying on the kitchen floor.
A corpse.
A bullet hole in the center of his forehead.
For a second, I couldn't breathe.
Then I screamed.
---
He didn't look at me.
Leo was standing there, the gun still lowered in his hand, smoke fading into the air like nothing had happened. His face was blank—too calm, too cold.
My knees gave way.
I slid down against the kitchen counter, my palms scraping the floor as I tried to breathe. My ears were ringing. My whole body was shaking.
"Leo…" My voice cracked as I forced myself to stand. My legs barely held me as I took slow, frightened steps toward him. "Honey…"
He finally moved.
Not toward me—away from the body.
I flinched when his eyes landed on me. There was no shock in them. No confusion. Just fury, sharp and cutting.
"So," he said quietly, "this was your plan?"
I froze. "W-what?"
He turned fully to face me, his jaw tight. "To sleep with my brother?"
The words hit me harder than the gunshot.
I gasped, my chest tightening. "Leo, no—what are you saying? I—" Tears blurred my vision. "I would never. I only loved you."
He stepped closer.
Too close.
"But I saw you," he said, his voice rising. "You kissed him. So casually. Like it was normal."
"That's not—" I reached out without thinking.
Before I could touch him—
Smack.
The sound echoed through the kitchen.
My hand was shaking when I pulled it back. I hadn't even realized I'd slapped him until my palm burned.
"How can you even say that?" I cried. "How can you look at me and say something like that?!"
He slowly turned his head back toward me.
His expression didn't soften.
Instead, he laughed.
A short, hollow laugh, one hand covering his face. "Ah… now I see clearly."
My stomach dropped.
"He's dead now," Leo continued calmly. "So he can't protect you anymore. That's why you're acting innocent, huh?"
I stared at him, my breath coming out in short, broken gasps. "Leo… stop…"
"You think I'm a fool?" he snapped, lowering his hand and locking eyes with me. "I knew it. You already did what you wanted with him."
My heart felt like it was tearing apart.
"And those kids you call ours," he added, voice sharp, deliberate, "are they really mine?"
Pain exploded in my chest.
"Have you lost your mind?!" I screamed. "They are your children! How dare you—"
He sighed, almost bored. "Alright. Not both. Just one."
I went still. "What…?"
"Akira," he said flatly. "He's not my son. He's my brother's."
The world tilted.
"What nonsense are you saying?!" I shouted. "He looks exactly like you!"
"Oh really?" Leo replied coldly. "Then why does he have red eyes? Why is he a dominating alpha—just like my big brother?"
I clutched my chest, my fingers digging into my shirt. "I have red eyes too—can't you see?!"
He chuckled. "Fine. I'll believe that. But explain his type. I'm an alpha. You're an omega. So why is he a dominating alpha?"
I couldn't speak anymore.
My mouth opened, but no sound came out. My thoughts were tangled, my head pounding like it would split apart.
Leo's lips curved into a bitter smirk. "I knew it. Only Yuke is mine. Blue eyes like me. Silver hair like you. An alpha too."
He looked at me like I was something filthy.
"You disgust me, Astra," he said quietly. "I swear I will never touch you again. Never speak to you again, but you are lucky i can't kill you either , i will make you regret everything."
Then he turned his back on me.
The door slammed.
I collapsed to the floor, my body folding in on itself as sobs tore out of my chest. The kitchen felt too big, too empty—his brother's blood still warm on the floor, Leo's words echoing in my head again and again.
I was alone.
....
Aki and Yuri were sobbing.
"Oh my God… Mother, how can Father-in-law be so cruel?" Aki cried.
Aki looked at Astra anxiously.
"Mother, Akira was Mr. Leo's child, right? Mr. Leo looks just like him… just like how Akira looks now."
Astra nodded slowly, grief heavy in his eyes.
"Yes… he is Leo's biological son. But…"
He took a shaky breath.
"Akira is a dominating alpha not because I slept with another dominating alpha. That's not how it works. A dominating alpha is born once every ten years—it doesn't matter if the parents are only alpha and omega. But at that time, fate was playing games with us. Leo forgot this fact in his rage."
Aki wiped his tears.
"Mother-in-law… how old were the kids when all this happened? Akira and Yuke?"
Current Astra lowered his gaze.
"Akira was six, and Yuke was five."
Aki and Yuri gasped.
"Oh dear… that's so young…" Yuri whispered.
Yuri looked at Astra softly.
"What happened then, Mother-in-law?"
Current Astra spoke again, his voice heavy with sorrow.
"Then…"
--
I cried for hours.
The guards came and took his brother's body out of the house. Leo paid the price for killing his brother—because now the entire mafia business fell on his shoulders. And I paid the price for kissing his brother that day by mistake.
But the one who suffered the most… was my son, Akira.
