Chapter 2 - Snow And Trees

[Chosen! Welcome to the Akashic Records.]

[The seal of art has been broken.]

Immediately, I summoned the runes, and followed the old man's instructions, reading the descriptions to try to understand.

[Second Shard Of Imagination] Description: You inherit the lineage of Archon, the **** born of Maghol, and the pillar of destruction.

"That's… a lot." These were the only words that came to mind.

I had a lot of questions. Like, who are the archons, and what happened to them? Why is there a blurred word? And most importantly, who is Maghol?

I did not have time to think deeply, however, because in the next moment, the amethyst space drowned in color.

Wind blew from under me, and I opened my eyes.

"Fuck!" I shoueted.

In the next moment, I fell on a soft bed of snow. The snow was soft. So, so soft that I didn't want to get up. But it was also cold, extremely cold.

I was about to get up, but I remembered my flaw.

"Is it even worth it?" I mumbled to myself, closing my eyes.

But then I remembered my mother, father, and sister.

"It is." I sighed and got up.

Inspecting the area around me. I found that snow and trees stretched in all directions. The wood of the trees didn't seem like wood at all; instead, it seemed like pure onyx. The leaves, on the other hand, were pure ivory. Another thing I noticed was the size of the trees. They were colossal.

I wasn't weirded out; instead, my heart was full of fear.

'I don't recognize this zone...'

Right after knowing that I was chosen, I looked up every single zone known to mankind, every single citadel, and every single gateway the records built in them.

And a zone of black and white trees was not mentioned... at all.

My fear was drowned by an even greater one, as I spotted an abyssal creature not too far away from me.

The creature looked like a snow leopard, except that instead of a single tail, it had four; it also had a pair of eyes on each side of its face.

It lunged at me, and before I could do anything, I was tackled to the ground. The leopard opened its maw, and instead of the normal way the mouth opens, its mouth opened on four different sides, revealing a set of sharp teeth on each one with a large fang in the front of each side.

Immediately, my hand shot forward and got hold of two of its maw's sides. We struggled for a bit, the creature trying to free itself and bite my head off at the same time, and me trying to get it off me.

After a bit of struggle, the sides I took hold of started to move backwards, and I heard a bone-cracking sound. The leopard tried to move back, but I still held the jaws.

Letting go of one, I took hold of the large fang, trying to rip it out of the jaw. I don't know if it was purely because of my new strength or because of the resistance of the creature, but soon enough, the sharp fang was ripped from the creature's jaw.

The creature took multiple steps back, breathing heavily, and letting out pained sounds. Its two lower jaws were dangling down, the right one bleeding from the ripping of the fang.

It looked at me, hatefully, and attacked with its claws.

Its speed was a little slower, so I was able to dodge not just that, but I jumped on its back. It jumped around, trying to get me off of it, but it was too late.

With one of my hands holding on to the leopard's fur, and the fang in the other. I stabbed the fang into the back of the creature's head. I struggled for a bit, but then the fang got through the skull and reached the brain.

The creature fell on the ground, and I got off it and lay next to it, breathing hoarsely.

[You have slain an abyssal beast: Ivory leopard]

I closed my eyes.
