Chapter 1 - The Baker

Chapter 1: The Baker

In a world torn between control and freedom, a single village remains untouched—until fire rains from the sky. The journey of a quiet boy begins as the age of peace shatters forever.

In a world divided by two powerful ideologies—the Governor Council and the Guilds—seven countries struggle for control. Three of these countries are ruled by kings appointed by the Governor Council.

The remaining three are governed by powerful guilds. One unique country, known as Wisdom, stands at the center of an ancient mystery.

The Governor Council is composed of seven Majesties, each representing their own domain of power. These Majesties appoint and oversee kings, who must obey the Council's unchangeable laws. If a king defies these laws, he is immediately replaced. Each Governor-controlled country has its own military but answers to the central authority of the Council.

Opposing them are the Guilds—independent and powerful factions led by warriors, mages, and strategists. Among them, three dominate the political and military landscape:

• The Celestial Aegis Guild

• The Phoenix Guild

• The Guild of the Lion

These are known as the Big Three, commanding large networks of smaller guilds and adventurers. While often divided in purpose, they share one deep-rooted alliance: their protection of Wisdom.

Wisdom is not ruled by any single king or guild. It is said to be the resting place of a legendary treasure—a relic so powerful that whoever claims it could rule the entire universe. Yet, no one knows what this treasure truly is, or where it lies. Its presence is a mystery, buried deep within the country's lands.

The only certainty is that it exists somewhere within Wisdom's borders.

Because of this legend, the Governor Council aims to take full control of the country. But the people of Wisdom, together with the guilds, fiercely resist. The villagers—farmers, smiths, bakers, and scholars—stand firm, believing the treasure must never fall into the hands of tyranny. The guilds, too, refuse to abandon the land they've sworn to protect.

In the southern end of Wisdom, nestled in a quiet village, lives a boy named Shinra. He is eight years old. His father, Hiroshi, is a kind-hearted human baker. His mother is an elf of gentle wisdom and magical heritage. Their bakery is the heart of the village—supplying food, warmth, and comfort to all who pass through. They trade with guild messengers and support nearby towns caught in the fringes of war.

Though the war has raged for years, their village has remained untouched—until now.

One afternoon, the skies roar with a thunderous blast. A sudden explosion rocks the non-war zone, sending shockwaves through the peaceful settlement. Confusion turns to fear. Before anyone can react, a second, more violent strike follows.

Screams echo across the valley. People run. Families scatter. Chaos consumes the streets.

The age of peace is ending. And the age of the conqueror is about to begin.
