Chapter 17 - THE INHERITED ASH ARC( PART 12)

The ground was lush with green grass, sheep and deer nearby.

Boom!

Another thunderclap.

He turned right and spotted a waterfall cascading down the mountain, merging with the river below. The river twisted through rocks, lined with small, colorful herbs and shrubs.

Lions lounged deep inside a distant cave.

Boom!

 Another thunderclap echoed.

Mizukane, who was falling, opened his eyes and saw

Everything was white: the sky, the ground, every single thing. Then, a black figure appeared, shaped exactly like Mizukane.

The figure raised his hand, and with its help, Mizukane finally stood up.

He realized the figure looked exactly like his hair, body, eyes, clothes, everything.

"Uh... uh... m-who are you?" Mizukane asked.

"I am you," the figure replied.

"What... where am I? Who are you really?"

 Mizukane asked again, looking around.

The figure explained, "You're unconscious, lying on the grass outside. But you're inside your own body. I'm the one controlling you, your brain, your Mizukane."

He stepped back.

"Don't be afraid," the brain said.

"You should be ashamed. You're a ghost hunter, and you're scared of Andy?"

"Andy?" Mizukane grinned.

The figure said, "The problem is Andy is in Thornessa's body, and you always forget that. Now Thornessa's dead, and it's Andy."

"You love her, but that doesn't mean you let yourself die."

"Weakness doesn't protect you, it eats you alive. Look at yourself. What have you become? Are you satisfied? If you have even a flicker of doubt, then that weak version of you who thinks he can't touch a woman's body, even if it's Andy's, must die right here, right now. There's no place for weakness in this world."

"If you call yourself a man, then prove it. Don't let your pride fall. A man doesn't run from pain."

The figure clenched his fist and raised it forward.

Suddenly, Mizukane's eyes glowed. He clenched his fist and raised it to meet the figure's.

Outside, rain poured heavily. Andy, inside Thornessa's body, stepped out from the bushes.

"What the hell? He's not here. How? Where is he?" Andy thought.

Suddenly, Andy felt something strange. He turned his head and saw a shadow on a tree branch, holding two daggers, staring at Thornessa/Andy.

The figure's eyes glowed bright blue.

Andy (thinking): Heartbeat... uh... oh... I can't hear his heartbeat. It's calm, normal... What is this feeling? I've never felt this kind of fear before. Is he even human?

Mizukane jumped from the branch and landed on the ground. His hair was soaked, his t-shirt torn, and jeans ripped slightly.

Mizukane smirked, "Looks like I'm in the wrong place."

"Because I'm the most powerful and destructive one here."

Andy (thinking): I don't want to, but I have to armor up.

Thornessa's eyes glowed. Leaves and flowers flew to her, wrapping around her like gloves and a dress. Her dress of woven emerald leaves and blooming wildflowers clinging to her form like nature's own armor. Each petal shimmered with raindrops, catching flashes of lightning like scattered jewels. The gown flowed around her legs in soft ripples, trailing behind her like a living tapestry of the forest.

Her hair, long and chestnut brown, spilled over her shoulders in damp waves, strands glistening with rain and adorned with delicate blossoms hibiscus, jasmine, and tiny orchids nestled like secrets in her locks. As the wind stirred, her hair danced with it, wild and graceful.

Her eyes were luminous pools of amber and green, glowing faintly in the storm's gloom. They held the calm of ancient trees and the fury of rising tides eyes that could soothe or strike fear, depending on her will. Framed by thick lashes, they seemed to see through the veil of time itself.

Her skin was smooth and sun-kissed, glowing softly against the stormy backdrop. Raindrops traced paths down her arms, which were wrapped in vine-like gloves that pulsed with a quiet magic. Her fingers, slender and strong, brushed the air as if feeling the heartbeat of the earth beneath her.

In the rain she was looking so much seductive that every boy will dream for her body

The rain kept pouring.

Another thunderclap.

Mizukane said, "I'm sorry, but your wish won't come true. You have to die right here right now."

He clenched his daggers tightly in both hands,

the deep navy silk wrapping rough but steady against his rain-soaked palms. The diamond-patterned folds darkened by the downpour.

Raindrops slid down the brushed brass guard, sparkling briefly before falling onto the steel blade, where the flowing ripple patterns shifted like restless waves under the gloomy sky.

Andy: Before we move on, remember where we are standing in East Africa.

Mizukane: I don't care where we are , because at the end I will win, that's confirmed.

Another thunderclap

roared through the storm.

They both lunched towards each other by holding their dagger

When both of them were away from each other at a specific and same distance they both jumped

Both their daggers clashed in the mid air leaving some sparks

Mizukane is currently behind thornessa after clashing with the dagger his right leg was straight but left leg was bent slightly

However thornessa after the clash of the dagger she is also in the same position

Suddenly with a burst her dagger broke into particles of pieces

in shock she opened her mouth in a oval like structure eyes were big

In mid air mizukane turned his head slightly a death stare

Until now thornessa landed on the ground with her hands and with a sudden she exerts pressure on it and jumped very high

The dagger passed below her head and struck a nearby tree. Suddenly, cracks occurred, and the tree exploded into splinters, sending shards of wood flying in all directions.

As the shockwave rippled through the forest, several towering trees groaned and collapsed, their trunks snapping like brittle twigs. The ground trembled beneath her feet, and the air filled with the scent of rain-soaked bark and ozone.

Thornessa landed on the ground

Thornessa : NOW

Mizukane : Seriously

He raised his left arm a blue aura glowed between his palm and dagger

Suddenly the dagger which has fallen trembled and with a very blur speed that normal human eye cannot see, hit the clones of thornessa which were at the back of mizukane they were only 12 cm away from him

Mizukane : I enjoyed playing with you Andy but now I am bored

Mizukane and thornessa were looking at each other's eyes

But due to rain the visibility has been decreased and become an advantage and disadvantage at the same time

Andy/thornessa (thinking ): one single wrong move and I will be cooked like before

They both clenched their fists and charged at each other, but just 2 centimeters apart, they suddenly stopped and leapt backward. The ground beneath them cracked open wildly.

Hands burst out from the earth with dazzling flashes, and from the ground sprang clones of Mizukane and Thornessa, jumping skyward nonstop.

The clones locked fists mid-air, mirroring each other's every move.

Then BOOM! Thunder roared.

The clash wasn't just noise; it was a fierce, living scream tearing through the forest. Sparks flew where steel met steel, glowing like tiny suns before vanishing in the rain. Raw energy pulsed between them, too bright to see clearly, too fast to even grasp.

The ground shattered first. Cracks raced in every direction, splitting open until shadowy hands exploded from the earth, grabbing and twisting everything into chaos.

Then came the real strike.

A massive wall of water blasted up from the broken riverbed, expanding in a circle nearly a kilometer wide. It slammed down like the fist of a tidal god, flattening grass, trees, and earth into churned mud and splintered wood. Birds dropped from the sky, deer and lions vanished instantly in the merciless blast.

Above the white-blue destruction, a second explosion burst green, vibrant, toxic with Thornessa's powers devouring everything the first missed. The rain turned into glittering shards, each drop smelling of ozone and scorched leaves.

When the light faded, the battlefield was unrecognizable.

The lush valley was gone. Grass turned to sand, trees to dust. Animal and human bodies floated in the water, twisted in impossible shapes, blood and organs drifting everywhere.

Only a few clones of Mizukane and Thornessa remained and they all hovered in the water.

Suddenly, a Thornessa clone spotted a shadow.

Thornessa (thinking): Mizukane's attacking with a punch? How foolish can someone be?

Before she could react, the shadow lunged at a water dragon dashed toward her!

Thornessa (screaming): What the hell is this?!

She made her right hand into fist and punched the dragon

Just to realize that

The dragon's jaws clamped down, and for a split second the world froze. Then it ripped. Thornessa's clone didn't just lose half a body

her torso shredded apart like wet parchment under jagged steel. Her right shoulder and ribs burst in an explosion of bone shrapnel, blood spraying in a violent arc that stained the water crimson. Flesh peeled away in long ribbons, dangling from the dragon's teeth like butchered meat, the veins still twitching as if refusing to die.

Her head snapped back violently, the jawbone cracking with a sickening pop as teeth shattered from the pressure. An eyeball bulged out of its socket, swinging by its nerve like a grotesque pendulum before the dragon's tongue coiled around it and yanked it free. Her throat, half-sawn by the dragon's fangs, let out a bubbling scream of half air, half blood that dissolved into a wet gargle as her windpipe collapsed.

Chunks of scalp and hair hung from the dragon's maw, clotted with skull fragments. Part of her cheek was ripped clean off, exposing her teeth through a torn flap of skin, giving her face a grotesque half-smile as if mocking her own death.

The dragon shook its head once, violently, like a wolf worrying about a carcass. The remaining flesh tore loose with a splatter, painting the water around them into a swirling massacre of red, fat, and splintered bone. Thornessa's remains spiraled downward, entrails unraveling like a snapped rope, intestines floating free in the dark water like pale serpents.

The dragon burst out of the water suddenly, but vines shot up and wrapped tightly around its beak.

Underwater, several clones of Andy hid inside Thornessa's body, gripping the vines with all their might.

The dragon roared with a deafening scream that echoed through the air.

Clone A (straining, furious, bubbles escaping his teeth):

"Pull harder! Don't think, don't breathe, just strangle the damn thing!"

Clone B (grim, voice flat, blood leaking from his palms):

"Your rage won't bind it. Control the pressure. Pull evenly, or it snaps us in half."

Clone C (choking, panicked, eyes darting to the dragon's huge shadow):

"We can't hold this! Look at the scales every twitch is tearing the vines! We're done for!"

Clone D (cold, calculating, watching the dragon thrash above):

"Let it think it's winning. Every roar wastes its breath. When panic hits… that's when it weakens."

Suddenly, the dragon took a massive breath and blasted out a fierce stream from its nose, sweeping the clones off their feet, hanging them in midair.

One clone landed on the dragon's skin, sprinted at lightning speed, then leapt into the air. Sharp claws erupted from her hands as she raised them but when she scraped against the dragon's skin, friction sparked. As she fell past the dragon's body, she glanced at her claws; they were shattered! The dragon's skin was unbelievably tough and unbreakable.

As soon as all the clones get weekend all of them disappeared and become flowers

One of the clone of mizukane was floating under the water he opened his eyes

Abyssiaque ! He shouted the dragon suddenly disappeared

When the clones were falling the dragon come from the opposite side

One of the clone tightened his dagger

and they all fall inside its mouth the blood sprinkled from its mouth towards outward while it was closed

The dragon roared harshly the rain was too fast
