Chapter 1 - THE MEETING.

Act One: Part One

[Scene] (In the graveyard, Father stands over his late wife's grave. It's for the town with no other person in sight apart from the security guard. It is in the evening with a cloudy sky and a few light rays passing through the green fields.)

Father: (Standing in front of the site) Things are tough right now. Problems are coming up everywhere, and with no solution. It's stressful…But I can handle it (Gets down on one knee) like we always said, I'll be stronger than my circumstances…for them.

Deval: Sorry to interrupt (He comes in behind, slowly but in a friendly manner). I just noticed you on my way in.

Father: This is a place for those who have lost people. (Refusing to turn to Deval) What are you doing, Deval? Have you lost someone? (He says harshly, changing to a sitting position.

Deval: I mean no harm. Remember, I'm a minister here. (He stands by the father's side) I just came from the south, towards Revera, it's quite far from here.

Father: (Still seated down) And?

Deval: I lost my sister some years back, the only family I had left. It's hard losing someone, I still haven't moved on. She was also buried here. (Point to a grave further back)

Father: (Doesn't respond and continues looking at the grave) …

Deval: Anyway, that's not the only reason I'm here. I'm aware of the problems you have been having. You're a big man in these parts, but the pressure must be immense. The galaxy is a harsh place, you know its evils, don't you?

Father:(Standing up) How can you help with all this?

Deval: I know where the cultists are hiding. I know their plan. I can help you with that matter… next week, you need everything for the planetary governor to find the place clean and ready. Let me deal with the cultist, and you deal with the governor, mines, and the rioters.

Father: I'm not in charge of this region. Why ask me?

Deval: Everyone knows Carlos is not the real Lord Regent. I just need one defense unit, and the problem will be solved.

Father: (Looking at Deval in the eyes) How can I trust you?

Deval: I'm keeping you on a short leash. I know sly men like you infiltrate our administrations with false presence. (Father's eyes burn with rage) But I do need your help. If what you say is true, then show me results.

Deval: Emperor's blessings to you, my friend. (He shakes Father's hand with sincerity).
