Chapter 2 - Gate of Worlds

When Elios entered his room, he directly walked to his meditation room and sat down.

In fact, there was no need for a special room to meditate – but, the less distraction there was, the better. So, the meditation room was just a quiet room with barely anything.

He laid down on the mat in the centre of the room… there was no need to sit in a position such as the Lotus position – he hadn't even transformed his body, if he did that now, he would just have a stiff body and get neck problems at a young age.

Calming down, he closed his eyes, his spirit surging.

A moment later, his sight switched to his Sea of Consciousness.

"Every time I come here, I am still astonished by the mysteriousness of the Sea of Consciousness! They say only a Soul Wizard is able to fully research it, but up to now, there hasn't been a Soul Wizard who reached the fourth stage!"

As he said this, he looked around, before focusing his eyes on the centre of the sea.

There, there were many words hovering – "Runes… various knowledge encrypted and transcribed into a magic language.

I really wonder how the ancient wizards achieved this when they were so weak… it seems that even if you are weak, as a genius, you will surpass people everywhere!

And then there's this…" he said, looking at the cluster of runes in the centre of his sea.

The cluster formed an archway – when he looked at it, knowledge streamed into his mind.

[Gate of Worlds] – that was the name. It's ability was also rather simple. As long as you are in the range of a world's radiation, you can open a gate to the world, obtaining basic information and entering it in a hidden way.

Elios had to admit… this Gate was more like a backdoor. As long as he was close to a world, he could instantly open up an artificial backdoor, and the basic information included many things. Among them was of course the language, appearance and power levels of the natives.

He only realised he had this when he built his first rune and entered his sea of consciousness.

Since then, he had thought of many ways to use this, even whether he should reveal it…

But in the end, he chose to keep it to himself.

Although the teacher in the wizard tower seemed kind, he knew wizards weren't kind creatures.

In fact, it would be better to say that wizards were one of the greediest creatures – they were willing to destroy worlds in an experiment to explore the truth.

Maybe reading all the stories and biographies in the library had changed his mindset, maybe it was the long stay in this world, but after all this time, he actually agreed with the fact that every achievement took numerous sacrifices.

Though this didn't mean he wanted to be a sacrifice!

If he revealed his talent, others might experiment on him at the worst, and even in the best case, he would be used a key.

There was no need for him to advance – in fact, the stronger he became, the worse he functioned as a tool, so they were likely to tie him up.

In consideration of this, he didn't want to be a sacrifice – he refused to, and he would fight anyone who dared!

Since it was his ability, why wouldn't he use it for himself?

From then on, he made up his mind – once he was a wizard, he would leave the wizarding world and explore the worlds outside.

Anyways, with his ability, he should have no issue entering worlds. He only needed to focus on weaker worlds and make some preparations, before leaving the wizard world.

Although exploration so early was risky, the Wizard Alliance didn't forbid it. In fact, it even promoted the idea… likely to obtain the coordinates of different worlds in the Sea of stars.

Anyways, Elios was sure that once he reached the fourth stage, he could return mighty to the Wizard Alliance!

Every Four Ring Wizard was a Councillor of the Wizard Council. Every Councillor had independent right and freedom of work, and they couldn't be forced to do anything.

After all, having reached that stage, you have transformed your potential into power, and reaching higher stages isn't that difficult – in the words of Speaker Roseville, you were a high powerhouse and voting member of the council!

The important part was that every councillor would stand together in the face of stronger people.

Although they couldn't defend themselves very well, but targeting one councillor would make you the enemy of all councillors.

Factually, one of these councillors will one day become Speaker.

And, in fact, other Speakers won't stand idly by in the face of this.

So, becoming a Councillor is the safety card Elios' has thought of.

This meant another thing though – he had to get a Wizard Inheritance to the fourth stage… no one proves the way up to the fourth stage in his lineage, so he had to come up with a way on his own.

Fortunately such a wizard tower was especially open, and, as long as he reached the first ring, he would be able to get the inheritances for his path.

"Maybe this was the plan of the Wizard Council – allow talented people to access all knowledge up tot the third stage, and once you reach the fourth ring, no matter how you reached it, since you did it, you should give your power to the Wizard Council and pay back all the gifts you got.

And their insurance is the fact that Councillor's are protected from various dangers.

Maybe the restriction was laid on the Speaker's by their own hands.

In fact, many of these Speakers probably have their own secret. Although none of them are like my Gate of Worlds, their own talents might not be less.

After all, they have the theory of 'Innate Powers' – this means they know there are people who are born unique.

Maybe… my appearance was one of the reasons I was chosen for this path, even though I am also suitable for the Arcane Path.

After all, another Arcanist might be strong, but a new path would benefit the Wizard Alliance as a whole!

Haha, in the end, it doesn't matter!

Since you are so generous to me, I will also pay back all the gifts I receive!

And my path… even if I prove it, it will be up to me whether I want to really reveal it.

If they want to force me, then I want them to reveal their own path before!

Arcane Light, isn't this one of the highest Arcane spells? And yet, it has been kept close by the speaker!"

Elios grinned as he thought of these things.

Then, his eyes left the Gate of Worlds and focused on another cluster, which was to the bottom left corner below the Gate.
