Just as Li Wei and Steven were about to explore the three caves deep within the den...

They could also sense the formidable strength emanating from Steven's Metagross, which granted Steven the right to converse with them.
Although Shaymin is not a Legendary Pokemon, it does have a certain ecological impact; seeding and spreading pollen are the duties of all Shaymin.

Zapdos grumbled,
"I really don't understand what's so good about putting on an act..."
Moltres glanced at it,
"Aloofness, that's called aloofness, understand?"
Li Wei and Steven did not know the Three Legendary Birds were bickering; they had already left the Sea Spirit's Den.
"But why is this place called the Sea Spirit's Den?"
If it's a sea god,
Shouldn't it be Kyogre or Lugia?
Steven explained, "Legend has it that someone first saw Lugia, revered as the Sea God, here, and thus it was named the Sea Spirit's Den."
"But later, only the Three Legendary Birds were heard of and encountered, and Lugia was never seen..."
