Chapter 1 - Moments before death

"Ah! Aanh! Mmph!"

The soft flicker of the motel room's tubelight cast a muted glow over their entwined bodies. A blonde woman, youthful and vibrant, let out soft, breathless moans as she moved with him, her back arched and her breath catching in rhythm with his.

Riku Hayashi, despite his years, moved with the strength and confidence of someone half his age. His firm grip held her steady, guiding each motion with purpose. Her skin, smooth and warm beneath his touch, responded with every breath and tremble.

Their bodies moved together in sync, the quiet creak of the bed accompanying their deepening connection. He leaned in, murmuring something into her ear that made her lips curl into a half-smile, her eyes fluttering shut as she gave in to the moment.

He paused briefly to look at her—her flushed cheeks, tousled hair, and the way her eyes searched his. It wasn't just lust. There was a raw honesty in how they touched, in how they let themselves be vulnerable in this fleeting night.

"You're incredible," he whispered, brushing strands of hair from her face.

She pulled him closer in response, her voice trembling with need. "Don't stop... I don't want this night to end."

Time lost meaning as they changed pace and position, exploring the edge of pleasure and connection. Her legs wrapped around him as he held her tighter, their breaths growing faster, bodies trembling from the rising tension.

And then, at the height of it all, everything seemed to pause. A moment of stillness—of release. They collapsed beside each other, hearts pounding, breath mingling in the quiet room.

Both were spent and totally exhausted; as they tried to grab more of the air, they felt lost due to the intense activity.

Riku lay still, catching his breath, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. The silence was short-lived—soon, a familiar warmth pressed gently against his chest. Natasha curled beside him, her arm draped across his abdomen, her cheek resting comfortably near his shoulder.

She leaned closer, her fingers tracing slow circles along his skin. A playful glint shimmered in her eyes as her hand slid lower, brushing over his still-sensitive length.

"Even when you're not trying," she murmured, smirking, "you're still impressive."

Riku raised an eyebrow, a wry grin tugging at his lips."Hardly my fault. Not every day a man's seduced by a future CEO with nothing but charm and ambition... and still glistening from our little encounter."

Natasha chuckled softly, clearly unbothered by his teasing. She moved her hand absentmindedly down to her inner thigh, feeling the lingering evidence of their time together. She looked up and gave him a wicked smile.

"I was hoping to taste you, but you went and took charge," she said with a playful pout. "Trying to give me a souvenir?"

"Just instincts," Riku replied, giving her a light, playful swat on the hip. "A part of me wanted to leave a mark. But if you're still feeling generous… I wouldn't say no to a little encore."

He gently guided her hand back to him, smirking as her eyes widened at his quick recovery.

"Seriously?" she muttered, half impressed, half amused. "You're relentless. Aren't you supposed to be an ajhussi or something?"

"Age is just data," Riku shrugged. "But if you want to talk performance—" he paused, leaning close to kiss her flushed cheek, "—let's not forget who handed you the leverage you needed. The files. The emails. The video evidence. Everything you used to dismantle your scumbag husband's empire... that was me."

Natasha raised an eyebrow, her expression sly."And in return, you're in my bed tonight. Plus, there's that one million I wired you earlier. Business is business."

Her tone was confident, but it wavered the moment Riku's hand slid up the back of her neck. He guided her gently downward, and despite a brief flicker of hesitation, she didn't resist. Her lips parted, and her eyes softened, surrendering to the moment.

Riku sighed, his voice low and satisfied."Then prove it. The night's not over yet."

She paused, catching her breath."Only tonight? That doesn't sound like the man who said he was going to own me."

Riku smirked, brushing a strand of hair from her face."Terms and conditions change... depending on performance."

Natasha rolled her eyes, then leaned in again, playful but focused. She kissed him softly, her movements measured, deliberate—teasing without rushing. Riku closed his eyes briefly, letting the sensation wash over him.

He exhaled shakily."You're dangerously good at this. If I believed in souls, I'd say mine's halfway gone."

Her glance up was amused. "So dramatic."

In a smooth motion, she shifted position again, pressing her chest around him, slowly moving with a rhythmic grace. It was sensual, practiced—but intimate in a way that made it feel more than just a transaction.

Two strokes later, Riku tensed. He reached out instinctively, fingers tangling in her hair as he whispered her name like a prayer. And then, just as he let go, the room shifted—

Bang!

The motel door flung open with a sharp thud, the silence torn apart by the sudden intrusion.

A sharp voice cut through the air.

"Hands up, Riku! You're under arrest for cyber—"

The woman officer froze mid-sentence, her eyes locking onto the scene in front of her.

The two officers soon entered and were equally shocked to find the American blonde covered in cum—both her mouth and between her legs. She cried, trying to wrap herself in a blanket for cover.

The culprit smirked as he slipped on his underwear and mocked, "A little Decency, huh? You barge in like stormtroopers and then blush like schoolgirls. Shouldn't a real officer know when to look away?"

The female officer flinched, then quickly ordered the others, "Eyes off! Secure the room!"

Suddenly, the half-opened door slammed wide open again, but this time it was not the cop but a foreign man. His eyes were blazing with anger as he stormed in.

"Natasha!" he roared.

'Isn't that her husband? He might have followed or accompanied the cops… maybe even brought them here. Damn my luck!' Riku cursed inwardly.

He saw the state of his wife and, without a second thought, pulled a gun from inside his coat.

"You fucking whore! You dare defy me!"

He pointed his gun at her as he gave his judgement.

"I will kill you myself!"

"Wait—!" the officer shouted, lunging forward.

But Riku stepped in between, shielding the woman behind him.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

Blood sprayed.

Riku collapsed, clutching his chest as crimson poured from the gaping wound.

The woman screamed in panic as the husband was immediately tackled by the officers. His arm twisted behind his back as one of them growled,

"You've just assaulted a Japanese citizen, Mr. Sterling. You'll have to answer for that."

The woman officer rushed to Natasha, wrapping a coat around her as she sobbed uncontrollably.

"Are you hurt? Can you stand?"

"I... I just want to go home," Natasha whispered.

As Riku lay on the floor, blood seeping from his wound, his fading vision caught a final glimpse of the woman being comforted… the husband being dragged away… the chaos fading to silence.

His last thought echoed as a faint smirk lingered on his face—

'I never meant for it to end this way… but was worth it, eh!'

And darkness took him.

However, he soon awoke—not as Riku Hayashi, but as a teenager in a much more distant land he never thought he would fare in his life.
