The first day of school arrived. My sister and I trudged to school dressed in decent uniforms. The money had not been paid in vain. But when I looked at my sister coming out of her room, I couldn't help but swallow hard. Seeing this, she smiled slyly and swayed her hips as she went down to breakfast.
At the gate, we were met by Sona Citri, who was now in tenth grade and was our age. Standing next to her was her queen, Tsukuba. Right now, they were just ordinary members of the council, but next year, when Sona gained popularity, she would run for president. Just imagine what Serafall would write in his report...
Seeing me and my sister passing by, Sona cast a diagnostic spell on us, designed to reveal magical abilities or identify races different from humans. Unfortunately, the artefacts I had crafted for myself and Akeno replaced the information obtained by the spell and showed Sona that we were ordinary people with no potential for magic.
The look on her sour face was like a sip of water in the desert for me. She was probably hoping that with our unusual appearance, we were descendants of some supernatural beings.
Nodding and smiling at the blushing Tsubaki, I walked past and was taken by the elbow by my sister, who squeezed my hand.
"Aha, aha, do you know this charming young lady?" Akeno asked slyly.
"Yes," I nodded, "we met in the shop. She is Queen Citri the Younger.
"And how well do you know her?"
"Are you jealous?" I raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?"
"No," she twirled a strand of hair around her finger, "well, a little."
"Here we go again," I sighed heavily, then received a poke in the side. "Let's go, the bell will ring in a minute," I took her by the hand and pulled her along.
Standing at the door of the classroom, we waited for the teacher to call us and went in.
"Students," said the class teacher, a woman of about forty-five, who, like everyone else in this world, was striking and beautiful. "Allow me to introduce you to our transfer students from Europe, Akeno and Vergil Borgia. They have transferred to us from Italy. Would you like to introduce yourselves?" she asked us and looked at us strangely... Ah! Of course, she teaches history, and here we are with such a talking surname, which I chose just to laugh. Who knew my mother and sister would like it. Perverts.
"Hello," Akeno began with a slight Italian accent, "you already know my name, so I'll tell you what I like." She put her finger to her lower lip. "I love cooking, listening to music, studying, and my little brother," she hugged my arm, and the teacher behind us choked on something, judging by the sound.
While my sister was talking, I scanned the classroom for demons. And I found them. In the class was the striking red-haired Rias, who would have been a sin not to try to seduce. But I couldn't. She, like the girl sitting next to her in the row, was actively studying us and, unnoticed, as she thought, casting analytical spells on us, but all of them showed a negative result. Speaking of the girl next to her, from the reports Saz gave me, I learned that she was a queen. A certain Lydia Fry, a talented mage who had so impressed one mage that he decided to kill her entire family and take the girl for himself, making her his puppet and, God forgive me, his mistress. But he didn't take into account that old age is no joy, and even if you're three times as strong and tough as hell, the senility and dementia that were normal even for a mage at his age did their job. He simply forgot which room he had locked her in, and when he went to check, she hit him with a candlestick, several times...dozen times, smearing his head on the floor. But unfortunately, he had a demon summoning seal in his pocket, and a servant of the Gremory household came to the call. Upon learning the girl's story, she immediately handed her over to Zeotikusu Gremory, who took her as a servant for his daughter.
What a crazy life story, it brings tears to my eyes, but it's damn beautiful. Blue hair that flowed down to the middle of her back, sapphire eyes that radiated warmth. A perfect face that could rival Rias's. A figure that was accentuated by her shape. Mmm, if only we were alone... Come on, get those treasonous thoughts out of your head! Phew, I probably shouldn't have been staring at Akeno in her uniform this morning, and my mother was cooking in her apron. Just her apron.
Fortunately, all these thoughts flashed through my mind at high speed, and as soon as my sister finished her performance, I took the floor.
"Virgil Borgia," I said, giving a slight European bow, which was marred by Akeno's hand sticking to mine. "I can cook, I love good food, good music, sports, and my sister.
Behind me, I heard the teacher whisper, "They're definitely their descendants. I never would have thought that was possible."
"Thank you for introducing us," the woman said loudly, "you can take the two desks by the door, at the beginning of the row.
What do you mean, at the door, at the beginning? What about the window? I don't look like an OYA to sit in such a privileged place.
"Now, let's open our textbooks and..." the teacher began.
The lesson began, and I could feel two pairs of eyes on me. One was confused and interested, and the other was incomprehensible, a mixture of anger, jealousy, a desire to kill, embarrassment and lust. To be honest, I didn't even want to know who was looking at me like that. But who am I kidding? My curiosity made me turn my head. And I wish I hadn't...
*****
"How was your first day?" I ask my sister walking beside me.
"It's okay, but it would have been great if it weren't for the boys staring at me," Akeno grimaces.
"Soon you'll be one of the local beauties and then you won't be able to walk down the street," I chuckle, remembering an anime. "You seem tense. How about some sparring and hunting renegades? Sazex sent me a list of the nearest ones, so we'll find them and you can let off some steam.
My sister didn't think twice, and about half an hour later, she was setting fire to a multi-legged creature with a man's face that was trying to escape. What a disgusting creature, I tell you, especially the smell.
"ARCH-H..." The victim breathed its last breath, and Akeno, satisfied with the effect, turned to me, beaming with positivity and kindness.
"I see your lessons with your father have been beneficial; your lightning is steady and powerful," I nodded to myself. "What about the ommedo?"
"The summoning spirits and artificially created ones are quite powerful, and their abilities, especially when transferring Vritra's dragon energy, are impressive," the girl circled around me.
"He's not awake yet?
"No, but it feels like he's recovered and is now gathering energy.
"That's good," Ddraig growled through the mechanism that appeared on my hand in the form of a bracelet. "When he regains his strength, your artefact will be able to grant you even more abilities. And then we'll perform the dragonisation." He finished with satisfaction.
"What are you so impatient for?" I asked the red suitcase.
"You need it more than anyone," the dragon muttered in response. "Your female must be strong, and since you're a dragon, you need a dragoness to produce strong offspring." My hand meets my face, and my sister blushes cutely, tugging at her sleeve and muttering something.
"I hope I don't pick up your bad habits..." I sigh heavily.
"You've already picked it up," the stove chuckles, "Need I remind you how you felt when others were looking at her? There you go, greed is in our blood! And you're a Lyuts...
"Okay, forget it," I interrupt the lizard, because judging by Akeno's face, she's about to faint from her wet thoughts, and he'll spill the beans. "We still have five demons. Teleport us to the nearest point."
The hunt was productive. A couple of demon souls were absorbed by the spear, giving me a few small sources of energy. I can use them later, but who knows what for.
"By the way, brother, did you notice how one person was looking at you?" "Cute," my sister smiled.
"You mean Hedo?" I nodded affirmatively. "Well, how can I put it... it would be difficult not to notice that piercing gaze, wouldn't it?"
"Why do you think she was looking at you like that?"
"I can guess that she knows I killed her brother, or rather, condemned him to unbearable, maddening suffering," I shrugged under my sister's stunned gaze, "or some other reason, since I covered all my tracks and only Az knows what happened.
"She feels like a mage, a human mage with considerable power," Akeno says thoughtfully. "Perhaps she's under the protection of Greymore or Sitri, since she hasn't been killed or taken care of yet.
"If so, then it's understandable why she skipped a year of training," I nodded to myself, "but I can't understand the reason for her special attitude towards herself. Well, screw her, as long as she doesn't touch us, let her run around. But send the shikigami after her, let them follow her.
Receiving an affirmative nod, he sent us to the next enemy. Although it was more like a tedious grind.
At home, we were greeted by my mother and a table full of goodies she had prepared in honour of our move into the new house.
"By the way, Verg," my mother said to me, "would you mind if we celebrated our housewarming?" She took a bottle of wine out of the bag."As if my refusal would stop you," I snorted, using magic to pull the wine glasses and a bottle of something strong for myself onto the table. "What? Your alcohol doesn't affect me, I have to drink something stronger."
"Seriously? Vodka?" Shuri raised an eyebrow. "Where did you get that, in Japan?"
"Oh! It's an interesting, albeit short, story about poor me getting lost in a neighbourhood ruled by the yakuza. Those guys were such sweethearts that they gave me a whole case just so I would leave." I smile, remembering how I beat them at cards.
"Oh, don't get drunk, although with your body and the transformations you've undergone, that would be very problematic.
"Enough already," I sigh wearily, pouring wine into glasses and vodka into a cup so as not to pour myself an extra drink.
"To our peaceful life," Shuri says, making a toast and drinking his wine. I take a huge gulp...
The morning was beautiful, I had no headache, and next to me, pressed against me with their whole bodies, lay two naked beauties, for whom one could kill. Taking a few deep breaths and letting the magic flow through my body to wake myself up completely, I carefully extricated myself from Shuri and Akeno's clinging arms and headed for the bathroom, then to the kitchen to prepare a snack.
"Life is good," I stretched, standing at the stove in my apron. "Only in an apron," I added. "Something's blowing..."
And so the days of our stay at the Kuo Academy passed. Our peaceful studies were only interrupted by communication with our families, training, and hunting down renegades who had been reported to us by Azazel and Sazex. They only gave us the coordinates of those who were nearby and could pose a threat to both us and the Satan sisters.
"This is going to be an extremely boring year," I thought gloomily, exchanging glances with Sona and Rias at school. "How I want to get out of here."
