Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 You've offended the abbot and you still want to run away? (2 more)

After Baishi Hui left Ran and Shinichi's sight, he immediately started running.

As he Ran, he took out his phone to pinpoint their location.

His earlier act of deliberately approaching the car to talk to Takagi Wataru was a ruse; secretly installing a tracker was his true intention!

Baishi Hui could tell at a glance that these two were definitely the type to hold a grudge and seek revenge!

If he really waited for them to get out of prison, they would certainly retaliate against him.

Baishi Hui wasn't afraid, but he couldn't stop them from targeting his friends and family!

He dared not gamble the safety of his friends and family on the consciences of these two criminals.

Soon, his phone successfully located Takagi Wataru's vehicle.

Baishi Hui looked at the route the other party was taking and quickly determined which road Takagi Wataru intended to take back to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

He quickly Ran into an alley, starting to take a shortcut to intercept the vehicle.

As Baishi Hui Ran, he took off his clothes, feeling like a superhero from DC Comics at that moment.

… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …

"High school students these days are something else."

Takagi, driving back to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, began complaining to Chiba Kazunobu: "They're already catching criminals at such a young age, and dangerous ones with guns at that!"

"When I was their age, I didn't even know what I wanted to do with my life."

Chiba, beside him, nodded in agreement, saying, "Isn't that the truth? I thought I loved anime so much that I'd work in an anime-related industry."

"I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd end up becoming a Criminal Police officer!"

"Sigh, seeing how excellent they are, that's when I truly feel the disparity between people!"

As the two were chatting, they suddenly heard a "bang," and then the vehicle lost control!

"What happened?" Takagi Wataru almost instinctively slammed on the brakes, forcing the vehicle to a stop.

Before he could react to what was happening, he heard the crunching sound of glass shattering.

"What's going on?" Chiba looked back, and his whole body trembled; he was dumbfounded.

He saw that the two criminals had a hole in their chests, blood gushing out, and their bodies twitching!

(The two were handcuffed to the front seats, so they couldn't lie down; their bodies could only lean forward.)

When Takagi looked back and saw this scene, his scalp tingled.

He realized something at this point, quickly looked out the car window, and soon spotted a man wearing a mask on a four-story building!

"I saw him!!" Takagi Wataru said, quickly unbuckling his seatbelt, opening the car door, getting out, and running across traffic.

"Hey! Takagi! Don't go, it's dangerous!" Chiba, having recovered, quickly called out twice.

But it was no use; he could only watch Takagi get further and further away.

He quickly took out his phone and, with trembling hands, called Inspector Megure: "Inspector! We've had an incident!"

… … … … … … … … … … … …

"You offended the abbot and still want to run?" Baishi Hui smiled faintly and pulled the trigger.

One shot blew out a tire, forcing the vehicle to stop.

Then another shot.

The 12.7mm caliber sniper bullets went straight through the two kidnappers, killing them instantly.

Not even Jesus could save them.

"Mission accomplished!" Just as Baishi Hui was about to leave, he saw Takagi Wataru get out of the car and run over.

"Is Officer Takagi that brave? He dares to come over even after seeing me with a sniper rifle?" Amidst his surprise, he couldn't help but feel admiration.

There aren't many officers as dedicated as him in this world.

Most police officers, when faced with such a situation, would choose to hide first, not charge directly like this.

With such a meager salary each month, why risk your life?

However… he might not be the sharpest, but his courage is commendable!

Baishi Hui thought for a moment and gave up the idea of leaving immediately.

If he were to leave like this, Officer Takagi wouldn't have any clues and would surely be blamed for "inadequate protection" upon returning.

Someone had to take the fall for this incident.

The people died on his watch; if not him, then who?

They couldn't let the higher-ups take the blame, could they?

Baishi Hui wasn't worried about being recognized by Takagi Wataru.

Although the azu mask he was wearing only covered the upper half of his face, it had the ability to disguise his appearance.

Baishi Hui unhurriedly put away the sniper rifle and descended the stairs, one step at a time, with it on his back.

Soon, hurried footsteps could be heard from downstairs.

Leather shoes clattered loudly on the stairs.

Baishi Hui stood at the corner, waiting, listening to the sounds getting closer.

He seized the opportunity and deliberately walked out, colliding hard with Takagi Wataru.

"Ah!!" Takagi Wataru was knocked directly to the ground, letting out a cry of surprise.

The young Criminal Police officer was about to say something when he saw the familiar masked man, and he immediately shouted, "Don't move! Police!"

After saying that, he hastily drew his handgun.

Baishi Hui knew at a glance that the other party lacked practical combat experience, so he immediately used the sniper rifle as a club to knock Takagi Wataru's handgun aside.

Takagi Wataru winced in pain, then immediately grabbed the sniper rifle, staring intently at the kidnapper, and shouted, "Why did you kill them?!"

"You police officers are really interesting, always spouting such nonsense." Baishi Hui chuckled and said, "I told you I don't know them, I just didn't like them, so I killed them. Do you believe me?"

"You're with them?!" Takagi Wataru finally reacted.

"What do you think?" Baishi Hui saw Takagi Wataru was thinking along those lines and didn't waste any more words.

He kicked Takagi Wataru in the lower abdomen, released the sniper rifle, and turned to go downstairs.

"Ugh…" Takagi Wataru wanted to pursue him, but the intense pain in his lower abdomen prevented him from continuing.

After several minutes of recovering, he finally caught his breath.

"Damn it… damn it!" Takagi Wataru was very unwilling, but looking at the abandoned sniper rifle in his hand, he considered it some sort of gain.

He quickly retrieved his service pistol and returned to find Chiba.

Chiba was coordinating with the patrol officers to block the road when he saw Takagi Wataru returning with a sniper rifle, and he was greatly surprised.

He walked up and quickly asked, "Officer Takagi, did you catch that killer?"

"No… I was knocked down." Takagi Wataru said helplessly, "But I snatched his sniper rifle."

"Phew… It's good that you're alright. Don't be so impulsive next time!" Chiba couldn't help but say a few words, "He didn't want to kill you!"

"If he wanted to kill you, you would have been shot dead when you Ran over."

After calming down, Takagi Wataru realized how reckless he had been.

He scratched his head and said with a wry smile, "You're right, I was too reckless… By the way, what about those two criminals? Are they alright?"

"How could they be alright?" Chiba said speechlessly, "With such a big hole in their chests, they were already gone not long after you Ran out."

"… … … … … That's true." Takagi Wataru sighed, saying with a troubled expression, "Sigh, this is troublesome now. The criminals died on my watch."

"There's nothing we could do about it. I believe Inspector Megure will understand us." Chiba wasn't too worried.

No matter who was in charge of this situation, the outcome would have been the same.

Who could have imagined there would be a sniper waiting for them?
