Inside the Nebula Games studio.
Ruan Ning, Anna, and Hector were talking about game-related matters.
"Even though it's an RTS, it feels like the amount of work this time is especially huge! It's not at all smaller than the previous 'Monster Hunter: World'!" Rachel said with feeling.
"Yeah, and the world view and story setting are also quite large. Dwarves, elves, orcs, and undead, as well as goblins, elementals, so many different races!" Anna also nodded in agreement.
"But with so much content involved, I wonder what the story will be like. It seems like most RTS games on the market don't have much story." Rachel wondered curiously.
"I'm not sure either. I haven't received any story-related materials yet." Anna shook her head, indicating she didn't know.
"I think that regardless of the story, just the gameplay alone is enough to make this RTS a success!" Hector, sporting dark circles under his eyes that showed how hard he was working, said excitedly after just finishing entering data nearby.
"You think so highly of this game?" Hearing Hector's words, the two women were a little surprised.
Even though they had confidence in the games they developed, the final product hadn't come out yet, so no one could say for sure what it would be like.
"Of course! It's just so rich, and all the various types can be combined into multiple variables. For an RTS, that's definitely very important." Hector said with excitement.
He had been very excited while inputting and structuring the numbers during this period.
Even though what Lucas gave him were basically just tables, as someone who worked in the game industry, Hector could still see a little bit of the bigger picture.
Compared to other RTS games on the market, at least in terms of numbers, this one was definitely top-notch.
"Alright, take a good rest during this time, plan your work schedule reasonably, don't push yourself so hard!" Lucas, coming out of the office, heard Hector's words and then saw the dark circles under his eyes.
Lucas had given Hector all the tasks for his part of the project, but he hadn't set a strict schedule, instead letting him arrange his own time. But it was clear now that Hector had completely turned into a workaholic, wanting to finish all the work in the early stages.
After saying a few words of concern, Lucas came to Anna and Rachel and showed them the finalized sketches.
"The sketches for the main characters in the game are complete, including the corresponding requirements, which I've written in detail. You can add some finer details, and I've also briefly sorted out the introduction for the story. You're in charge of the initial review for the outsourcing work." Lucas said to them.
Taking the thick stack of sketches from Lucas's hands, Rachel and Anna were immediately amazed when they saw the picture on the first page.
"So cool!"
Most of the drafts were still rough, but Lucas had already added color to the first few.
The first drawing showed a handsome young man with golden hair, wearing silver-blue knight armor and a cloak, with a lion's head belt around his waist.
Behind him was a huge hammer, his expression was very determined, and his eyes showed a pursuit of justice. Combined with the warm-colored background, the young man in the drawing looked incredibly righteous.
At the same time, golden light enveloped the young paladin in the blurred background.
Next to the drawing was written the identity of the character: Arthas Menethil, Prince of Lordaeron, selfless and brave paladin of the Silver Hand.
Is this the main character?
So handsome!
Looking at the first drawing, everyone couldn't help but be amazed.
But when they flipped to the second drawing, the expressions on their faces instantly froze.
The main character in the second drawing was also Arthas, but the entire style had completely changed.
The original silver-blue knight armor had now become dark and gloomy, and the original golden hair had turned into a deathly gray-white.
His expression was still so firm, but the look in his eyes conveyed not justice but evil.
The hammer that originally represented the paladin was now replaced by a magical sword that emitted a blue light and was engraved with magical runes.
Next to the drawing was a description of the character.
The main character was still Arthas, but now his identity had changed from Prince of Lordaeron and paladin of the Silver Hand to a death knight of the undead.
"So extreme!"
"Boss Lucas, is Arthas the main character of the game? Is he going from good to bad? Or is he turning over a new leaf?"
Everyone looked at the two drawings in front of them, unable to contain their excitement, and started discussing.
The main focus of concern was the meaning of these two drawings.
Everyone didn't know anything about the story, because Lucas hadn't said anything about it yet.
But everyone still knew some basic settings.
For example, the game was divided into humans, orcs, elves, and undead, which were the four races that players could control.
And now one drawing of Arthas, from good to evil, from prince to death knight, this extreme change in identity and position
had already made everyone's imaginations run wild. Was he the prince who went from good to become an evil death knight, or did he go from an evil death knight back to a righteous paladin?
"Main character? Arthas is indeed the main character in some events and periods, but the entire story of 'Warcraft', Arthas is just a brilliant stroke in an entire era." Hearing everyone's words, Lucas shook his head and explained.
"Huh!"
Hearing this, everyone was a little confused.
"Boss Lucas, do you mean multiple main characters?" Hector asked, guessing.
"No, there's no such thing as a main character, or rather, each period has its own main character." Lucas shook his head.
"Just like the history of civilization, each period and each race has its own glorious story, and heroes emerge. Evil or righteous, whether it's characters like Arthas and Illidan, or humans, orcs, and elves, they are only the so-called main characters in a certain period, but they are not eternal." Lucas explained simply.
Listening to Lucas's words, everyone roughly understood what Lucas was talking about.
The story of the game isn't being told from the perspective of one particular person, but from a broad overlook.
Thinking about it that way, it does indeed fit the RTS type very well!
And the scale is also larger.
"Alright, continue developing 'Warcraft' according to the current model, but the collaboration with 'Monster Hunter: World' and the building of structures in 'Minecraft' can begin."
"It's like a warm-up for the early stages of the game." Lucas said, looking at everyone.
