Chapter 2 - A Medic With Potential... and a System

Ding!

"Foreign energy signature detected. Beginning synchronization…"

"World coordinates confirmed. Initializing system—1%... 2%... 99%... 100%."

"Installation complete. Welcome, Host, to the Doctor's Benevolence System. Ready to serve you with utmost dedication!"

Kamiyo Qian Yu stared at nothing in particular.

…Seriously?

He had already resigned himself to a mediocre life in the shadows—no bloodline, no destiny, no flashy eyes. And now the system decides to show up?

Even worse, it wasn't some cool-sounding god-slaying cheat system. It was… a healer system. No voice, no personality. Just cold mechanical prompts.

He played around with it for a while, testing the interface.

Simple layout. No AI companion. No sass. No guidance. Just a menu with a short description and a single guiding rule:

Heal others to gain power.

Use the healing technique granted by the system, and he could randomly extract physical stats, chakra natures, jutsus—even kekkei genkai—from the person he treated.

If he received a duplicate skill? It would convert to experience points for skill mastery. Bonus: healing certain patients could also grant "Benevolence Points"—a currency for the system's internal shop.

Of course, the rewards scaled with the importance, power, and status of the person being healed.

He opened the shop out of curiosity.

And immediately began drooling.

[Ten Tails Complete Form] – 80,000 Benevolence Points

[Reincarnation Sharingan (9 Tomoe)] – 50,000 Points (per eye)

[Tenseigan] – 30,000 Points

[Rinnegan] – 20,000 Points

From Six Paths powers all the way down to basic academy jutsu—every ability in the shinobi world was available for purchase.

And at the very end, a small note:

Advanced products unlocked upon reaching Six Paths-level strength.

Qian Yu swallowed hard.

It was overwhelming. It was incredible. It was… impossible. At least for now.

His points balance? Zero.

"So... I'm supposed to build up power by becoming a field medic?"

He couldn't help but chuckle.

It made sense. This world never lacked wounded soldiers. Every year, a steady stream of shinobi retired early due to injuries, war, or botched missions. If he spent a few years in the hospital system, treating everyone he could, eventually he'd accumulate power—even if it took a slow burn.

And maybe, just maybe, by the time the Fourth Great Ninja War came around, he'd be ready.

"If I play this smart, I could even hit Six Paths level. Then I get to dance, too!"

But first... a test.

He picked up a kunai resting on his desk and, without hesitation—

Shhk!

A bright line of crimson traced across his forearm.

"Healing."

Green light shimmered in his palm, warm and soft. Within a second, the bleeding stopped, the skin mended, and the only evidence of injury was a streak of drying blood.

"H-Holy crap…"

The technique was powerful. Chakra-efficient. Practically effortless. It reminded him of the medical ninjutsu Tsunade had mastered—but this didn't even strain his reserves.

But a question lingered in his mind.

"System, does self-healing count toward attribute extraction or point gain?"

...

The system didn't speak—but somehow, he could feel its judgment.

Ding!

Host has healed one individual. Reward: +0.3 to Constitution.

Bug detected. Self-healing no longer eligible for rewards.

Compensation: Novice Gift Pack awarded.

Qian Yu blinked.

"…So not only did I fix a bug for you, but now I don't even get the free stats? What kind of cheapskate system is this?"

The system remained silent. If it had a face, it would probably be glaring at him in disbelief.

Sighing, Qian Yu gave up on arguing.

"Fine, whatever. Open the character panel. And open the novice pack too."

A sleek, high-tech panel shimmered into view:

Name: Kamiyo Qian Yu

Age: 4

Constitution: 5.3

Spirit: 10.4

Chakra: 1.5

(Note: Average Genin values = 10)

Skills: Chakra Refinement – Level 1 (1/100)

Chakra Natures: Wind, Lightning

Items: [Senju Bloodline Awakening Serum]

Combat Rating: Unrated

"Yikes…"

Aside from his slightly above-average spirit (probably from being a transmigrator), his stats were terrible. His constitution and chakra were well below even the weakest Genin.

Even Sakura, post-academy, would stomp him. That is, when she wasn't yelling at Naruto.

Still, the novice gift pack was promising.

He summoned the item— a vial of swirling blue liquid— and downed it in one gulp.

[Senju Bloodline Awakening Serum] – consumed.

The effect was instant. Warmth surged through his limbs. His muscles tingled. His chakra swelled.

A moment later, he reopened his status panel:

Constitution: 9.5

Spirit: 11.4

Chakra: 11.5

Now that was more like it.

Senju bloodline wasn't some miracle power-up, but it did enhance the body's vitality and chakra volume significantly. He wouldn't suddenly sprout Wood Release like Hashirama, but his physical potential had jumped several notches.

Now he could stand toe-to-toe with any fresh Genin.

"Not bad for a day's work."

Still, he knew this didn't make him invincible. The system was powerful, yes—but he had to keep pushing himself. Not just to get stronger, but to hold onto the strength he gained.

He stepped into the courtyard, moonlight brushing against the paving stones, and resumed his nightly training routine—push-ups, squats, stretches, focus drills.

Not because he expected immediate gains.

But because he understood something most people didn't:

"A system determines your lower limit. But your discipline shapes your ceiling."

Well… mostly.

"Let's be honest. In the ninja world, if you don't have a cheat, all the effort in the world won't save you."

Effort wasn't meaningless—it just wasn't enough.

With a system like this, his job was to not waste it.

Hard work? That came after. Right now, it was time to prepare—for a long career in the medical corps... and eventually, for the battlefield itself.
