Eleanor's P.O.V
I woke up to the annoying ring from my alarm clock. With my eyes still shut with how tired I'd been from moving boxes and house wares the previous day, I tried turning it off but instead knocked it over the night stand. Can my day ever start nicely....for once !
"You have got to be fucking kidding me" A deep voice barked. I slowly opened my eyes and standing beside my bed was my older brother Liam. It looked like he had just got out the shower. No clothes on plus his chestnut coloured hair dripping water all over my rug.
"Oh my gawd Liam..out the door will you" I scowled grabbing my phone to check the time "you're getting water all over the rug". He rolled his eyes.
"Get your damn self up and head to the shower" at this rate I was assured a head ache "When are you gonna make it your responsibility to get up for school" He asked calmly still maintaining his gawd awful frown.
I closed my eyes with a sneer plastered on my face "When you dump Megan and get a new girl in your life". I could literally feel his reaction. Just as the words left my mouth I got smackd hard in the face with a pillow. Silence followed fading footsteps to which I got up immediately.
Knowing Liam if I don't get ready before he finished whatever the hell he was doing he'll leave me to walk to school. The new school. What an awful beginning.

The girl staring at me from my mirror didn't look so happy.
Who? You might ask...well take a lucky guess.
I had a black compression top on with cargo jhorts and a pair of lilac sneakers. Not the best outfit but who cares. I flung my bag over my shoulder and ran down the stairs.
My Mum laid fast asleep on the couch, I walked up to her and gave a little tap. She jolted up as if just waking up from a trance. It creeped me out. Her eyes bags were so visible you'd think she had drawn them.
"Jeez mum, you look like you need a rest" I suggested, but she just waved it off shaking her head.
"That's exactly what I told her" Liam's voice chipped in from the kitchen. Mum rolled her eyes, her hands running through her hair. "It's fine Ellie, I just had a busy day yesterday" A false smile flashed across her face. I gave her a questioning look. "Work? Yeah right, Mom when are you gonna have time for yourself"
"She needs a guy in her life"Liam answered "Oh not, ion know mehn" He signalled for us to leave before heading out to get the engines ready.
To be honest Liam was kinda right and still wrong. I won't bore you on the whole story of my dad leaving and all that. He's not here and that's just it. But when I think about it, I've grown used to the circle just being Liam, mum and I. Don't need an additional individual.
"Back to earth El" Liam waved his hands over my face. "You're always spacing out jeez!" We got into the car and zoomed off.
"Don't worry, I know you're nervous-" I rolled my eyes at his 'reassuring words' "-But you've gotta know, I'm your big bro and I'll be there if you need help. Actual help" He stressed the word 'actual' with all seriousness. "Since you and mum now live here I've gotta keep my eyes on you...trust when I say this place is off and-"
"Yeah yeah..be careful with people at school. You can't trust anyone. I know that" I huffed. My fingers gently massaging my temple ....his never ending yapp was inviting another headache. "I didn't forget okay? Now can you please focus on the road".
Liam moved in to the town some months before us. My mum got him enrolled to which the lived with a friend. But now we are together again his 'Big brother switches' are kicking in and it annoys me to the core knowing fully well I can handle myself just fine.
My thoughts were so occupied I didn't notice the engines had been turned off. Until Liam's voice pulled me back. "We're here...welcome to Marble crack high lil sis"
I scoffed "That's a stupid name" ....."Get out of the car".
