Old School Building, Kuoh Academy.
This was Kuoh Academy's old building. Long since abandoned, it gave off an ominous, creepy vibe.
After handling all the paperwork, Rias brought Edgar and Shiho here.
Shiho Miyano looked around the spooky building and muttered, "Is this one of the school's Seven Mysteries or something?"
"There are rumors like that, yeah," Rias replied, pushing open the door. "But in reality, this is just the base for my peerage."
They walked into a spacious clubroom.
"Hey, Akeno, Koneko—look who's here."
"Edgar, good to see you again," Akeno Himejima greeted with a gentle smile. "Would you like tea or coffee?"
"I'll have tea. Shiho, what about you?"
"Coffee, thanks."
Koneko Toujou gave a little wave and said flatly, "Hello, Edgar."
"Still as emotionless as ever, I see."
Edgar plopped down on the sofa and glanced around. "Rias, you've still only got Koneko and Akeno in your peerage?"
Rias sighed. "Yeah… quality servants are hard to come by."
"True enough."
Edgar nodded thoughtfully, though there was a smug little smirk tugging at his lips.
Looks like—
Whether it's because of him or some shift in the world itself, Yuuto Kiba and that vampire guy were nowhere to be found.
Honestly? That was great.
Edgar didn't like other guys swimming around in his fish pond.
"What, are you happy I can't find decent servants?"
Rias gave Edgar a suspicious side-eye. She got the weirdest feeling—
Like he was thinking something extremely rude.
"Of course not."
Edgar chuckled and quickly changed the subject. "Actually, I've got a favor to ask you about Shiho."
"Go on."
"You know she just became a devil—she's got zero combat experience. So I was hoping your people could help train her a bit."
He smiled. "And hey, if someone could teach her some High-tier magic too, that'd be awesome."
Yeah… teaching people stuff?
Totally not his thing.
"You really don't hold back, do you."
Rias rolled her eyes hard.
This guy seriously wanted to pawn off all the work and get the perks for free.
Edgar blinked innocently like "yep, that's exactly what I want."
Sure, the Lucifuge family was prestigious too, but they were a tier below the Gremorys in terms of magical heritage—especially when it came to High-tier magic.
That stuff was legendary—said to rival the power of a Demon King's spells.
Most devil families wouldn't even dream of teaching it to outsiders.
Plus—
If Shiho learned it, Edgar would essentially know it too.
It was a win-win with zero cost.
Rias gave Edgar a sideways glance and tugged at the corner of her mouth, but in the end, didn't say no.
After all, she had taught Edgar High-tier magic in the past.
She sighed and said, "Fine. Let's first figure out what kind of magic suits her. After that, I'll handle it."
"But for now, Akeno, can you give her some basic training?"
"Sure, President," Akeno nodded.
She walked over to Shiho and smiled. "Shiho-san, please attack me with full force."
"I want to get a sense of your current abilities."
"Got it, Akeno-san. Please go easy on me."
Shiho looked excited.
She had picked up a bunch of spells just yesterday—time to test them out.
Without a sound, magical energy rippled through the air, making the atmosphere shake.
"Wait, hold on!"
Akeno quickly waved her hands to stop her.
What the heck?!
Didn't this girl just become a devil yesterday?
But this power—she was easily at the level of a mid-class devil!
If she actually let loose, they'd be picking up pieces of the old building by the end.
Rias and Koneko also looked completely stunned.
None of them were new to this game—they knew just how strict and hierarchical the devil society was.
Unless you were born into a powerful supernatural species, even the most talented human with a Sacred Gear would start as a low-class devil after reincarnation.
But this girl?
A normal human, freshly reincarnated—
And in just one day, she had already reached mid-class devil level?
This was straight-up cheat code behavior.
Rias turned her gaze from Shiho back to Edgar.
"How the hell did she do that?"
"Simple,"Edgar said with a straight face. "She's got an amazing master."
"If you joined my peerage, you'd level up like crazy too."
"In your dreams."
Rias shot him the most dismissive look she could manage.
Yeah, sure, she thought.
More likely, Shiho had some kind of mysterious bloodline or hidden power.
Either way—
Edgar really hit the jackpot with this one.
After a pause, Akeno spoke up. "Shiho-san, let's head outside."
"I'm sorry, that was careless of me."
Shiho also realized her mistake.
Yeah, using magic indoors? Not smart.
"No, no, it's my fault for not thinking ahead," Akeno shook her head and led the way.
Behind the old school building was a wide, open space.
This was where Rias's peerage usually trained.
Shiho and Akeno faced each other.
"Akeno-san, I'm ready," Shiho said as she raised her hands and began channeling magic.
Buzz!
A light blue magic circle shimmered in mid-air.
A moment later—
A flurry of wind blades tore through the air and shot toward Akeno.
"Wind magic?"
Akeno narrowed her eyes.
Yeah, it was one of the most basic spells, sure—
But her control was way too good.
Was this girl really just a regular human a day ago?
Still, Akeno didn't hesitate.
She moved swiftly, launching a counterspell of equal strength.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The two sets of spells collided in mid-air, kicking up clouds of dust and magical pressure that rolled out in all directions.
Watching the clash, Rias said softly, "You really did get yourself a treasure."
Edgar stroked his chin and grinned. "This is just the beginning."
"???"
Rias stared at him in disbelief.
"Let's keep going, Akeno-san."
"Of course."
Shiho started mimicking Akeno's movement techniques and launched another spell.
Buzz...
Another magic circle lit up.
This time, it exploded in a burst of dazzling flame.
"No way…" Rias's eyes widened.
Fire magic too?
She had already mastered two types of basic magic in one day?
Or—wait—
Was this not even her limit?
That question didn't hang in the air long.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Shiho went full blast—spell after spell rained down like a magical storm, dazzling and overwhelming.
Could anyone seriously learn this much magic in just a day?
Rias was shook.
Edgar hadn't just profited—
He'd hit the ultimate jackpot.
This was like pulling an SSR on his first try.
Totally ridiculous.
