Chapter 3 - Angel

"Mummy loves you, baby."

"Alina loves mumma too.''

"Mumma? Daddy? WHERE ARE YOU?"

Alina shot up from the bed panting. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, all sleep lost to the nightmare that has been haunting her since the last 13 years. She looked down at her shaking hands and clasped them together to stop the action.

After calming her racing heart she looked at the clock on the wall, 5:27 it read.

"Wow, now that's a record." She said to herself chuckling as she pushed the blanket off her sweating body.

She looked at the clothes that she was still wearing from last night. She sighed in frustration.

Yesterday after her annoying encounter with Yug, she was in a bad mood. So her best friend Daniel had decided to take her out to refresh. And Daniel being the smart person he is decided that Alina's little refreshment should be done in a club.

How smart.

Alina isn't a party person, she doesn't like crowded places or loud music so it was pretty normal that they stayed there for about 30 minutes until she decided to threaten Daniel to kill him and they had immediately left.

The whole way back home all Daniel heard was Alina making a plan about how she would cut off all parts of Daniel's body and throw them in different parts of the city.

"Be more creative buddy." Daniel had replied to which he had gotten a shoe thrown right at his face which made him almost bleed from his nose. He had managed to drop a raging Alina home without getting killed successfully.

The loud noise and the crowd had drained Alina so much that she didn't even bother to change her clothes and just threw herself on the bed of her apartment as soon as she entered.

'He can be so annoying sometimes.' Alina thought as she removed her clothes, throwing them all over her room and went inside the shower to get started for a new day.

______

Alina entered the station and sat down on her table. Her fingers tapped on the desk as she stared at her black computer screen lost in thoughts.

"You okay Alina?" It was the first thing she heard making her flinch. Upon realising who it was and recognising the voice she looked up at her brother. She sighed as she stared at the male from whom she could never hide anything.

"I'm fine brother i promise," she reassured Yuhan trying to sound

convincing. But who was she kidding, this was her brother who knows her inside out.

He just gave Alina a look,

"Great joke." and kept the sandwich and banana milk he had bought for Alina on her table.

Knowing Alina for god knows how long, he knew for a fact she must have skipped her breakfast.

Alina picked up the sandwich and started eating it since she was indeed pretty hungry. It was pretty normal for her. Most days, her meals were bought by her brother only. She looked up at Yuhan who was still waiting for her reply.

She groaned at this, "Oh god i told you I am fine, right? Leave me alone grumpy old man." Alina's voice came muffled because of the sandwich in her mouth.

Yuhan had the urge to pinch those stuffed cheeks but calmed himself down not to be mad at his sister at this moment, he knows Alina was in a bad mood.

"My Alina never enters the station and goes straight to her desk when is fine. She loves her colleagues and would always greet them before even greeting me. So come on now spit it out." Yuhan said and Alina pouted feeling guilty.

She looked around and indeed noticed her colleagues stealing glances at her. She knows they all care about her, but she really hates it when they worry too much.

"Come on Alina, you know we are always here right." Another voice said and Alina looked up to see her senior Junghyun standing just beside Yuhan.

"Oh god guys, it was just a nightmare okay?" She said out loud and everyone heard it.

They all felt bad for their her. They absolutely adored her. The way she is always so energetic and positive gives them strength.

Every single day it's her whose face makes them ready for the everyday challenges of being a police officer. But whenever she gets into trouble they all get scared and scold her a lot. And seeing their ball of energy down like this pains their heart.

"Come on Alina, the Commissioner assigned us a new case today, let's check it out." Junghyun said, changing the atmosphere. He really preferred the energetic girl instead of this one.

Alina who was staring at her hands on her lap immediately looked up at the mention of the case and stood up enthusiastically almost making her chair fall down but Yuhan caught it on time.

"Oh my god brother! Why didn't you tell me before? Let's go right now." She immediately started dragging Junghyun along with him who chuckled at him mumbling a 'this kid'.

"Come on Scooby." Alina shouted at her best friend who had just entered the station still holding his pillow. Daniel didn't even leave his pillow and just followed where Alina went, too sleepy to think.

Yuhan sighed looking at the sudden change in Alina's expression. She went from pouting heavily to smiling widely. Yuhan never understands Alina's love for her job. He loves his job too but the way she gets crazy doing her work is something he can never get.

He smiled remembering Alina's father who was a police officer as well. She is just like her father.

Hardworking. Too hardworking.

"I just hope she doesn't end up like her father." Yuhan mumbled to himself as they all walked into the discussion room where the commissioner was waiting for their team.

_____

"The moles have been successfully planted inside his company Van. The first step was successful. I'll keep checking with them on my system." Seon concluded and Van nodded at him still having a blank expression.

He then looked at Jay who was staring at the computer standing while his arms were crossed on his chest. He looked lost in his thoughts.

"Jay?" Van called out as softly as he could to the male who got startled and looked at him back.

"Yes Van?" Jay asked back a bit disoriented from the conversation.

"Can you stay around him? I don't know if i can trust him or not." Van said to which Jay immediately nodded and left the room without saying anything.

Even if Van wanted to go after him he couldn't. He knew what was going inside Jay's head and he could only wish he could do something to help. He can't stop what's about to begin. It was necessary.

Seon looked sympathetically at the other two male in the room. "I'll go after him." One of the male said and left behind Jay.

Vc an who was sitting on his chair thinking about the whole situation stood up gaining everyone's attention, "Am going near the street for a coffee. I'll be back soon.''

"Take care." The other guy said softly to which he nodded the best he could and with that left the room.

_____

"Where the fuck is Scooby?" Alina groaned for the nth time looking at her watch. She has been sitting at a coffee shop waiting for Daniel to join her.

They both were assigned to keep eyes on the eye witness of their recent case. The eye witness was too suspicious for her liking so here she was keeping an eye on the male that was sitting not far from her having a pastry.

Daniel was supposed to join her too but only god knows where he was. Alina was definitely going to kill him after this.

Tearing her gaze from the coffee in front of her, she again looked at the blond head she was spying on, who was devouring his cake like it was the last meal of his life.

She cringed as the male scooped a small piece of cream from his shirt and ate it just because it fell over him.

Her eyes were roaming around and settled outside the window. A lot of people were walking around the street busy in their own world.

She was looking around when her eyes stuck on one person. Alina squinted her eyes to focus clearly not believing if what she saw was real or not.

"Woah." That was clearly justified. Alina couldn't stop that from coming out of her mouth.

In the middle of the chaos, there was him.

The most handsome guy she had ever seen. The guy was like an art. The type of art that makes you want to look a second time. The type of art that everyone wants to see. The type of art that makes you feel a thousand things at the same time.

The guy was looking up at the sky with closed eyes just standing there. His dark brown hair was blowing with the air.

What made Alina almost drool was the thick neck of the guy. It made her feel things she didn't know she could ever.

He was wearing a silk golden and black shirt and some tight black pants. He even had light dangling earrings, that looked ethereal on his face. The guy himself was the definition of ethereal.

As if sensing her gaze the guy opened his eyes and suddenly looked down, directly at Alina.

Alina was so sure she saw the guy's eyes go wide for a second before a natural expression took over. It was like the guy recognised her.

But she knew for a fact she had never seen him. Because if she did she wouldn't have forgotten that face of a greek god.

She tried so hard to tear her gaze away from those amber eyes who were staring directly into her soul, but she couldn't.

It was like she was caught in a spell the man put him in. The man was gorgeous. His beautiful amber eyes, the perfect jawline and those plump heart shaped lips.

Suddenly the man smiled and this time Alina forced her betraying eyes to her lap, not being able to keep up with the intensity.

She again looked up and this time she literally panicked when she saw the guy was still

smiling while walking towards her.

Her eyes widened and she looked around but no, the man was still only staring at her.

Alina was never the person to be the center of attention, but the way the man was staring at her made Alina feel giddy and shy for the first time.

I never craved attention, until i tasted yours.

But no matter how much she tried to ignore the smile, it was breathtaking. He looked like he was the happiest person on earth. Like watching a kid walk towards a candy.

It was so innocent, completely contradicting his personality.

He felt so calm and peaceful that Alina just wanted to keep the person with her. It was too serene. His clothes screamed the word 'bad guy'. But Alina was too gone to care about anything.

She watched with wide confused eyes as the man entered the cafe and sat right in front of her.

Sometimes you can't explain what you see in a person.

It's just the way they take you to a place where no one else can.
