"There is a ritual in our family. When someone comes of age—turns eighteen—they must complete it."
"A ritual?" Ken frowns. "But Father, I didn't know there was any."
"You weren't meant to know. Just do it. That's an order."
"...Yes, Father."
Day of the Ritual, A priest, flanked by two guards, stands ready in the Holy Room.Ken enters, confused. Why isn't Father here? Or brother? Or even my mother? it's an holy ritual for whole family why nobody is here? The priest gestures. without answering to ken . "Prince, stand inside the circle. We must begin."Ken obeys.
"You will drink this holy water while praying to the gods."
"Understood."
He drinks because it was an order that he must complete the ritual at time. Almost immediately after drinking , his vision blurs. His limbs grow heavy. His mind fades—like being trapped in a chamber without air.
