"Attention, Tanjiro has already been eaten by the Winged Lion."
Kairo Retsu's voice came through the Hunters' gathering voice channel, notifying all the hunters simultaneously:
"The good news is that the plan is proceeding smoothly—the Winged Lion is quite satisfied with how we taste…"
"Unfortunately, the Winged Lion decided to save me and Laios for last."
Kairo Retsu explained the current situation to the remaining three hunters:
"In any case, the Winged Lion should be arriving at your location soon. Don't drag it out too long—just enjoy the sensation of your desires being fulfilled. Consider this our… unwritten trade with it."
"Hey! I've got an idea…"
Kairo Retsu spoke up again on the gathering channel.
Hearing Kairo Retsu's suggestion, Joseph and the others all wore increasingly odd expressions.
"Seriously?! You're still thinking about goofing off at a time like this?!"
Kazuma shouted in exasperation. "You're gonna traumatize the people of this world!!!"
"Thinking about it more carefully… if we consider Kars and Muzan as Demon King types, then Joseph and Tanjiro kinda count as Heroes, huh? This plan… is actually kinda interesting…"
Naofumi Iwatani suddenly grew intrigued and said, "Alright, I'm in."
Naofumi thought it was rare—after getting isekai'd again—to run into this kind of party. If they were going to hang out together for once… might as well enjoy it.
"Are you guys saying this stuff will become trendy in the future?" Joseph scratched his head.
Though Joseph's era had more technological development than Tanjiro's or Laios', he still didn't know much about future pop culture. But the youthful desire to have fun…
He joined in without hesitation: "Count me in! This sounds fun!"
"Then don't forget—later I'll go find Kabru. I think he's a perfect fit for this too…" Kairo Retsu said cheerfully.
Meanwhile, Misurun had no idea why the three hunters beside him had suddenly gone completely quiet.
Since none of the hunters had their voice chat on open channel, Misurun couldn't hear Kairo Retsu or Joseph and the others at all…
Then, out of nowhere, Naofumi Iwatani suddenly spoke:
"The Winged Lion is headed our way. Looks like it's about to make one of us the next dungeon master."
"!"
Misurun perked up immediately at the mention of the Winged Lion. "When?!"
"Now."
The moment Misurun finished speaking, the Winged Lion had already appeared behind him.
He instinctively turned to attack, but the Winged Lion smacked him aside effortlessly and used shifting dungeon stones to form shackles, binding Misurun in place.
"So you hunters have a way to notify each other," the Winged Lion muttered as it looked down at the three hunters before it.
"But I'm still curious—why is your plan to defeat me by having me eat you first?"
"That's none of your business."
Naofumi Iwatani stepped forward: "Of course we have our own strategy—and I think you'll be quite pleased with the taste."
"You're not planning to back out now, are you?" Naofumi asked. "If you're worried our wishes won't be enough to get you out of the dungeon, then don't be… Whether it's Laios or the Captain, either of their wishes can pull you out of this place."
"So, you think that once I leave the dungeon, you'll be able to kill me?"
The Winged Lion looked at the hunters with great interest. "No wonder you were able to persuade that elf who was so fixated on me. But… I don't believe I can be killed."
"Well then."
Symbols of infinity flickered in the demon's eyes.
"Who wants to be the next dungeon master?"
————————————
After the dungeon saw an influx of anomalous monsters, Kabru had already resorted to threats to gather up all the elves and adventurers in one place—to ensure they could survive inside.
Those enormous, never-before-seen monsters had indeed caused significant casualties to the people here… Fortunately, the dungeon's undead rule had not changed, and resurrection magic could still be used.
But amid all this endurance, the dungeon once again underwent drastic change.
"Impossible!!!"
Patadrille shouted in disbelief as she looked at the dungeon's new transformation.
"Such a massive style shift?! Is the new dungeon master some kind of lunatic?!"
Normally, even if a dungeon master was dissatisfied with their changes, they wouldn't overhaul the style this drastically in quick succession.
But the recent transformations were so wildly inconsistent—it felt like multiple people were taking turns reshaping it.
"Maybe…" Kabru said gloomily, gazing off into the distance.
"It's worse than you think."
If this failed, he figured he'd end up condemned alongside the hunters—his name etched onto history's pillar of disgrace, ridiculed for generations to come.
Since Kabru had gathered everyone together, the dungeon had already changed twice.
The first transformation seemed like a medieval kingdom theme. Alongside it came numerous new monsters, all of which appeared heavily armored.
Even the slightly lower-ranked adventurers couldn't break through their defenses.
The most powerful one looked like a giant mammoth, its body covered in thick fur. Just walking seemed enough to crush everything beneath it.
The second transformation introduced a style Kabru had never seen before.
Some of the dungeon structures became square and blocky—reminding him of Dwarven ruins. The monsters this time were agile and cunning.
The strongest among them looked like a mix between a sea dragon and a fox. As it moved across the ground, it left behind a trail of strange bubble-like residue.
As Kabru worried, the third transformation began.
"Are there new monsters in the dungeon again?!"
Kabru anxiously called up to the adventurer observing from a high point with a telescope.
"Y-Yes! There are!"
The adventurer trembled in fear. "More monsters… and there's a green one… It's lightning! That dragon-looking thing can use lightning!!!"
"How many more monsters are these hunters going to conjure up?!"
Kabru screamed internally.
Meanwhile, Kairo Retsu was practically bursting with excitement as he watched the dungeon evolve.
"See that, Laios? Our plan is working!!"
"Tanjiro's already recovered after drinking a Potion—now the Four Heavenly Kings are all assembled! Next up…"
"Let this world witness the rise of Demon King Laios!!!"
