For the next few days we were training we never left each others sides. We went through all of the survival skills areas. I had learned the night before I can call up weapons, Armors, meds, and anything else I could think of from my system. It even had the option to come in as sponsor gifts.
The R.O.B. I met didn't lie when he said he'd give me a treat. I found out that I had a 100 times learning speed to acquire and master any and all skills during combat preparations. So I used it to the fullest of its capabilities. And a grayed out section I couldn't access. Maybe because I hadn't gone through canon this is just the prep work. I still had another 3 games depending on if a child is going to be picked until then I'll train as hard as possible.
Little girl wanted to get allies but I refused. My only concern was us. If she wanted to then fine but I wouldn't. Though I wouldn't hinder her wants or needs at the moment. She felt happy that I wouldn't interfere with her plans.
The last day of training I went to the combat section and started training with the instructors. I wanted to master everything at my own pace only learning the basics for now. And you couldn't have better trainers than the capital training. Thanks to the SS Serum my body was always at its peak.
Stamina, endurance, strength, dexterity, everything was at its peak constantly. And with Itatchi's skills and experiences I became even more deadly. I mastered every skill and technique I could get my hands on.
But I didn't show it. I kept it a secret. At the ratings I showed enough to get an 8. I showed basics in all combative skills and showed only advanced skills for trap making and impromptu weapons making sturdy enough for a kill before I had to make another. Did that on purpose. Can't have everyone thinking I'm too remarkable.
During the interview I had the stylists dress us to look like royalty again. Hair basic wavy hair. All black with the accents like glowing embers and a tiara the same way.
She talked about how I was protecting her like a real big brother. How she said she'd rather be a princess locked in a tower away from danger. That he couldn't lock me in a tower but he made her "The princess of the Mines." In honor of not just her father who was a mine worker but for our district and its dangerous mines. She had a sweet and sincere smile the whole time. Talked about her life back home then looked straight at the camera.
"Daddy I'm safe. He's taking care of me. If something bad happens don't be sad be happy because in the end there can only be one." She stands up.
Then twirls around. And stops after a slow spin. "Look mommy he made me a princess. He said that in the eyes of their parents daughters will always be princess's. So if I don't make it home don't be mad. Don't be sad. Because royalty should always due their duty to protect their people. To district 12. As your princess I expect you to be brave, courageous, and always be proud of your hard work, endurance and perseverance. Honor each other as I have honored you and wait for one of us to return." She curtsies and waves at the crowd and turns to walk away strong and poised for one so young as the applause dies down.
I hugged her told, her she was beautiful up their. That I was proud of her. That even if she dies to do it with love in her heart and a smile on her face. Because that's what royalty does. Then they call for me to go up.
I go on stage. Strong regal. With a face unreadable. I sat with Cesar.
"So Orion tell us. Is there anyone special back home?" He asks curiously.
I smirk at the question. "Yes Cesar and it's quite a bit scandalous if I maybe so blunt." I answered with a smirk.
Cesar ever the opportunist capitalizes upon that.
"Oh now you've caught my interest. Please tell me more about this." He says leaning a bit closer to me.
"Well for the full story I'd need more tv time but everyone will have to settle for a quick and short story. Or else the other tributes will cry about it." I stated with a sly smirk making everyone laugh.
"See I'm an orphan." The audience awws "it's ok I'm not broken about it because through that pain my parents best friends took me in and I became like a member of their family." I stated getting a cheer for Everdeen family.
"So when I volunteered after seeing the pained and hurt look on the girls family I decided since no one will protect her then I would." I stated matter of factly like it was just a minimal task I was doing on a whim which was true. As I was earning another aww from the crowd. "I was visited by the head of the family." I paused remembering the love and concern he gave me. I stood up to get ready to leave.
I looked straight at the cameras. "I'm sorry that only one of us can come home. But I tried my best and will continue to do so. I'll protect your daughter as best I can during these difficult times. I can only make one of her dreams come true. To be a princess. So if things go south because they always do that's just how life is. Remember your daughter as a princess. As someone doing her duty to protect not just her people but the ones she loves. Her home." I ended with that, earning wild cheers as I started walking off but before I walked off I looked back at the camera and everyone quieted down "expect me home soon father in law." And left with a satisfied smirk. All I heard were gasps and cheers from the crowd and Cesar. As I dropped that bombshell on them.
"A 12 year old getting married when he gets home?!! And to the daughter of the family that took him in no less?!! That is scandalous!!!" Cesar cried out!!! Getting cheers of epic proportions from the crowd.
As I walk down the girl asked me if it was Katniss and I nodded she hugged me and wished me luck. I hugged her and told her to always run and hide.
Use trees and camo whenever possible. Find water quickly. Stay away from fighting and prepare a bunch of traps don't bother hiding just make them and run a different direction set another and go. Use the land use the brain in her head. And to always believe in me no matter what.
To never believe what I say if I'm with other people because she would be the last one with me no matter what. Then we cry in each other arms and then break off after awhile. We rested early after I made her eat a heavy dinner so her body can have enough energy for the battle royale. Then we went to sleep.
